No.

The casting-down of Satan and his angels is mentioned in more passages than in just Rev 12.

Try looking at Rev 9....and then at Rev 8.

Bump..............

Angels can ascend and descend, unless like Satan and his angels who would be cast out of heaven for good.
So...according to your reading of scripture, Satan was cast out of Heaven numerous times....Rev 8....Rev 9....Rev 12...which directly contradicts what you just said...

Job 1:7
And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Job 2:2
And the Lord said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
The Hebrew is 'ū·mê·hiṯ·hal·lêḵ' and literally means 'traverse, in this direction and that' as it relates to the earth, only....NOT in and out of Heaven.

Come on....

Revelation 12:5-9 "And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.[SUP]6 [/SUP]And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.[SUP]7 [/SUP]And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.[SUP]9 [/SUP]And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
And you ignore all the other Rev passages which show Satan being cast to earth.

Why?

Now I know your phony baloney, and you speak with the words of the Dragon. Your Universalist views are false doctrine, and suggest that all men are born again of the Holy Spirit and given a new nature in Christ, which is heresy and false doctrine. Bye!
When one cannot refute scripture, just make wild claims. Seems like a good copout to me.

Explain where I ever even hinted at Universalism and even suggested that all men are born again as you seem to understand those terms.

No it's according to your lack of understanding of all the scriptures I've posted already that prove your belief that Satan is bound already is false. :)

Refute scripture? Your own words are contrary to scripture. All one has to do is read the first line of post #97 I responded back to where you said about Jesus Christ, and I quote you " He did not remove sin, He did not even change our natures for this life," [end quote]

That is what I call complete nonsense, and even heresy!

If it is heresy, why not cite when it became heresy and by whom.

On the other hand, that it might be hersey according to your opinion is quite meaningless.

If you think it is heresy would you mind showing me from scripture that Christ changed your human nature, from mortal to immortal in the present time. Do you believe that you will never die physically? That is the ramifications of your understanding at this point. And please cite the text that says Christ abolished sin for anyone? Apparently, I must assume, that you cannot sin.

You have not even addressed the topic which is about Satan being bound. It seems, as I stated before, most seem to be Jews who are awaiting the Messiah yet, since most of what is being stated is that Satan is not bound. The poll seems to show that most really have no understanding of what scripture teaches on the topic and is actually the hallmark of Christianity that separates it from all other religions.

However, the last Biblical account of Satan possessing anyone was at Jesus' last supper...

And after the morsel, then Satan entered into that one. Then Jesus said to him, What you do, do quickly. (John 13.27)

If Satan was not already bound, then why has he not possessed anyone since that time...?
How do you know he hasn't? Are you psychic?

I read yesterday a book written by a Romanian monk. The book is called "Nebunul"; translation: the crazy, the fool (the crazy is a monk who proves himself to not be as crazy as he seems).

Right in the beginning of the story, the monk (after having spent 30 years in the desert) comes in the biggest city of Syria, with a dead dog tied and hanging somehow from his belt (I lack English vocabulary, sorry) and he steps majestically in the middle of people and says "Go on! Bow to your king! My king has bound your king but you still prefer to serve him (the dead dog)".

Satan being bound at Jesus' crucifixion...

Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world shall be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself. But He said this, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die. (John 12.31 - 33)
"The prince of the power of the air" is identified with sin in Eph. 2:2, 3. Notice the parallel structure: "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, {Greek: "aion" of this "kosmos"} . . . the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience." "The prince of this world" which had nothing in Christ was sin.

The outward appearances in the death of Christ were deceptive since it appeared as if he were condemned, when it was the sin which was cast out and condemned. (Rom. 8:3). This personification of sin is in the pattern of other Scriptures. Sin is compared with a master who pays wages (Rom. 6:23), a slave owner from whom men are emancipated that they might serve God (Rom. 6:17), a reigning monarch (Rom. 5:21), and as indwelling with men. (Rom. 7:17).

Revelation 12:7-12 seems to indicate that Satan is bound in heaven until he is cast out for the tribulation. Just as the holy spirit transcends the earth, I believe its counterpart does likewise, but neither Christ or Satan are here de facto right now. The tribulation begins when Satan is cast to earth, and that cannot happen if he's already here? jmo
excuseme.gif And there shall in nowise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Rev.21:27 i.e. (That is heaven proper where God's throne is and Jesus is at the right hand of the Father).

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such a one caught up to the third heaven. 2Cor.12:2..........v.4 "how he was caught up into paradise.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air......Ephesians 2:2

There are obviously different phases of heaven. God would never let satan into His home! Make no mistake about it satan is still among us in the atmosphere, but not heaven proper.

The hierarchy listed in Ephesians 6 also give weight to where Satan is right now.....6:12...

principalities <---arche<--principle in rank, power or rule
powers <-----exsousia <------delegated rule, authority, influence, jurisdiction
rulers <---KOSMOKRATOR<----world ruler<---SATAN
spiritual wickedness<---wicked spirits in high places.......

The third on the list jives with everyone who has posted that Satan is here, now influencing and walking among men!

All,

Looking for scriptural positions regarding if Satan is presently bound...
According to Paul, Satan in not bound. This is an interesting message, too, because Satan is very good at disguising himself as a good guy, if not a saint:

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Cor 11:14 RSV

I'd like to add, though, that though Satan is not bound, he was defeated at the cross. In other words, he can still lead us astray, but he can't defeat us.

Such contradictions and false statements.

Satan IS BOUND. That is according to scripture. If Christ came, died and was resurrected, Satan has been defeated, which you say, but don't understand that is the meaning of "bound". The meaning comes from the fact that Satan had absolute rule over man and the world through the power of death. Christ defeated death, gave life to the world by His resurrection. Satan no longer has control over man or this world. Paul is quite adamant that Christ has bound Satan. The whole NT would be meaningless if Satan still is NOT bound. It would also mean that Christ failed in His mission to defeat Satan and his works.

As to your other statement, Satan surely is present and can defeat anyone, especially Christians. It is Christians that he seeks to ensnare and lead astray. Sadly, many fall for his deceptions.

It's not a contraction. Satan can lead us astray if we let him, but we don't have to follow him.
