I just want to point out that Genesis does not identify the serpent with Satan. You won't find that connection anywhere except in the New Testament. The author of Genesis does not say this. Look carefully. The serpent is described as the most wily beast of the field. It's an animal, a very clever animal, but it is not Satan. Do you notice in the account that Eve doesn't appear mystified by this unusual anomaly? She seems to take it for granted. Why did God not warn of a talking snake? Hmm, so many questions.
