As we know Satan in the garden of Eden tempted eve with food,, and eve gave in to the temptation,,

Later on Satan tempted Jesus with food but Jesus did not give in,,

what is the message here ?

I Believe that people will try to gain favor by tempting you with something you like only to pull you away from God,

Like people will try to make you hate something,,or like something,,

when you like something that someone else likes then that person can make you hate something that they hate,,

so the message for me is guard your heart and do not hate,, your thoughts please,,

It is true, but who is to be blamed and how to overcome this?

This is a vastly practiced evil disease until today, the fatal steps apart from Biblical principles, to accelerate one's carnality behavior into action and root to divisions. As it is written;

"A thief only comes to rob, kill and destroy..............................................................."

Sadly these are evident even in the Kingdom of GOD within itself, called the church, the body of CHRIST and people who weak tend to get sucked in, even when they know it is wrong, for the Bible tells me so and they fall short by either leaving the congregation or stop attending or give up Christianity.

And surprisingly, the initiator walks free, committed, rooted and well known to that congregation. .

Why is that?

I just want to point out that Genesis does not identify the serpent with Satan. You won't find that connection anywhere except in the New Testament. The author of Genesis does not say this. Look carefully. The serpent is described as the most wily beast of the field. It's an animal, a very clever animal, but it is not Satan. Do you notice in the account that Eve doesn't appear mystified by this unusual anomaly? She seems to take it for granted. Why did God not warn of a talking snake? Hmm, so many questions.

Really it was much more than just being tempted by food. The serpent explained to her she would gain the knowledge of good and evil. This resulted in her feeling deprived of something she apparently thought she needed. She stopped trusting God because she felt He was denying her some benefit even though she had such a close relationship with Him. That's what I see in it anyways. I think all humans do this at times. (Those that believe in God, that is) We trust ourselves more than God and that's why we often live our lives how we want instead of according to His will. We fail to recognize that God denying us some "benefit" is very likely for our own good. I see message for me being, simply, trust Him. :)

But I also think you're correct when you say, "People will try to gain favor by tempting you with something you like only to pull you away from God."

Eve was not primarily tempted by food, she was tempted by knowledge:
4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. (from Gen. 3)

And Christ was not tempted with food; He was told to change the rocks into bread - it was primarily about power (read Mt. 4).

Folks tend to be drawn to attractive philosophies that seem to give them control. Formulas and belief systems that put them in the driver's seat and not God. It's not so much about loving or hating something, but about control.

Well i dunno but it would make more sense to me if eve was eying up the apples with a desire to eat one, and at that moment Satan came in for the kill.

Interesting idea, cute as a matter of fact, does everything have to be put to question? Not being nasty, please forgive if I step on toes, is not my intention. What is meant is this, God stated no don't do, and it was not followed, the sin was done, there might have been alliterative motives, but are they important? And is so, how? We are so involved is many things that don't pay our bills and are trivial? Wow, that does sounds heavy, Christ had to die to straighten out the sin that was done that fateful day. And of course because of that fruit, our eyes are also open and we know what is right and what is wrong, I thank God that it was not of the other tree, as then we would have eternal life, and live in sin also? Now that is a question is it not?

Of course the blood of Christ would also cover this sin would it not, would there be anything to correct as we then would be eternal creatures? Put that in your pipes and smoke it for awhile, this could get interesting could it not? Be blessed blood bought, be blessed.

That would be wrong Matthew 26:26-30

New International Version (NIV)

[SUP]26 [/SUP]While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
[SUP]27 [/SUP]Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. [SUP]28 [/SUP]This is my blood of the[SUP][a][/SUP] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. [SUP]29 [/SUP]I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
[SUP]30 [/SUP]When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.,, ,,

please read from verse 28 This is my blood of the[SUP][a][/SUP] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

What this passage say is this the new covenant this is my blood,, and many will receive it and be forgiven but many will not, please forgive if i step anyone's toes here. but you can not argue with the word of Jesus,, when Jesus say many will,, you have to believe that many will not,

Matthew 22:14
The Parable of the Banquet
13"Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' 14"For many are called, but few are chosen."

So there you have it many...

There are a few very basic and very powerful desires we are subject to, food being one of them. This is why fasting is such a powerful tool, it helps us learn to deny selfish desires to align our thinking with God's...

Isa 58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
Isa 58:4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
Isa 58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Isa 58:7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Isa 58:10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
Isa 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Isa 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

We fast not to get God to see things our way, we fast to see things God's way.

yes that is true and if one looks to the left that is a gluten free bread,, as its one thing to digest bad bread from peoples word,, but its another to digest bad food as well,,, if you digest both then not only the body becomes unwell which is as you know is the temple for god.

but also the mind comes affected from the lack of words to stop the flood of bad words,,

A talking snake? How did she know snakes shouldn't talk? Was it really a snake?

Just a little hint for those who may want to look into this, what is a nachash? And what is a "whispering enchanter"?

No option is logical lol. Either you've got a talking snake... or you've got god very unfairly cursing all snakes when it wasn't even a snake in the first place, it was satan!

This question becomes a question about how to read scripture. Scripture is about God who is spirit and truth, we are about man who is temporal. Scripture says food, we think meat and vegetables, scripture thinks spiritual food. But scripture uses temporal things we understand so we can relate it to the spiritual.

If we deny the temporal or if we deny the spiritual, either way is not right. We have to see the connection. The OP is seeing the connection relating to eating. It is far from the main point we are to learn from this, but it is something for us to look at.

The story of a bad person claiming he is a christian,, after years of studying people who claim to be christian

well eating food is not just about eating it for your self,, its about sharing the food and passing it around, like lets look at a family table before the meal we say grace, and we thank the lord for what we are about to receive.

Now lets look at someone who is not willing to share there cookies, or there pear drops.
Now this person may have given and not received back so in future they hide there pear drops or there cookies when they have some, or they carry on to share even though the people there with don't share back.
This is spiritual this is giving to not receive this is when eating becomes spiritual ,, yes,,

so lets look at the person who is in the state that does not share, or does not get anything from anyone, someone may come along and tempt that person with goodies , but little does he know that person who is feeding them is out to use them by giving them stuff they don't have and they like. like Satan with eve etc.

Now this is bad spiritual food this is giving to gain favor and not giving for giving,, like lets just say you give me many likes on my threads. Because i now like you you think it is ok to make me hate the things you hate like say for instance Jews or atheists or Catholics or maybe skin color or rich people or the government or gay people,, on an on and on im not saying this is you,, but this is an example.

This is when you have fallen into the mockers trap and took there bait,, or the satanists trap or the the bad Jews trap who hate Christianity claiming to be a christian. they make you think homeless people are bums or all Muslims as evil and on and on.
then they say they are a christian,,actually there either from other religions who hate Christianity or they are just evil with nothing better to do.
You start to think this is ok this is how Christianity is and it is not Christianity has nothing to do with hate or mocking.

This happens in the real world and it happens in families to its called planting a seed of hate. and it cause the innocent death of Christians around the world too.

Once a person has any seed of hate in there heart it becomes a breeding ground for more hate to grow and the hate can grow and grow and grow to the point where that person no longer has love in there heart.

Now that person who is planting this hate maybe does not realize what he or she is doing, ?

but maybe they do, maybe they are a satanists that knows exactly what there doing claiming to be christian, and if you don't believe Satan worshipers exist then you better wake up because they do.

And what better place to come than a christian place and and bring every one down to there level over time ? eventually if you mix with haters and people who are influenced by Satan and have no intent in coming to lord eventually you may be corrupted too..

People see Christians as mockers or condemners haters catholic bashers gay bashers on and on but real christian do not hate or mock

now the main reason for this is actually people claiming to be christian but actually they are not.

They say they are christian and then they come on here and hate everyone under the sun, they even say im a christian and i will continue to commit adultery even though they are married is this christian ?.

Thees people actually have a real problem with Christians because actually they have been put down by so called Christians, or they don't believe in God or they are satanists or whatever or from other religions looking to make a mockery out of Christianity.

It is true that Christianity has made mistake a long the way but a lot of Christians have grown an have moved away from that

Now thees people who claim to be christian they say is im a christian and talk really bad and give Christianity a real bad name that is there sole purpose.

now the story of poor Adam and eve is exactly this they where led astray. I urge you to pray and be a defender of the faith and not listen to any MORE mocking what so ever and when you do, Evangelise and pray.

Now the thing you should pray for most is the people who have been led astray by thees people, it is sad that they have fallen into a trap and become a hater and a mocker,, let us pray they see this message and come back to lord.
