A bundle of sage is just that, a bunch of herbs tied together. If you give the enemy the power, they'll take it. If you just burn the sage for the smell or something, I don't know - than I don't see a problem with it.
Also, what's the deal with opening doors and windows of the home when anointing it? Demons are spirit beings, they can pass through physical properties, if need be. Or is it more symbolic, to help us as people to understand and make sense of the demons being cast out?

Opening doors and windows is not required but it sends a message to the demons--"GET OUT!" and nothing more.

THe only thing that "gets them out" is the cross. Dash don't fall for this junk. You are free and free indeed. Yes demons do posses people, but not christians. They can be oppressed, and objects that have been used in satanic worship can cause problems. But put under the blood, they have no effect. I went through a phase like this, dabbling in the occult. God kept me safe though, every time I met with the group, I found their "knowledge" stupid and felt that there was an angel standing beside me, a guard if you wish. So.... my sister who has encountered Ghosts in her room showed me something that kind of freaks me out. you see she listens to pretty much everything her bus driver says and he is into some really weird stuff, talking about how her soul has the power of fire or something like that. and he gave her some instructions to keep things away and well... it seems satanic to me but I wanted to know for sure. so here it is titled: Spell to make Ghosts exit rooms, first grab apple. second take apple to the middle of the room and hold apple out and turn starting with north, south east west. third put apple in the middle of room and cut it into four slices. then pick it up holding all sides and say to the power of that B( whatever that means) to the power of that b set this room free.

Since you are owned by God you can be a righteous witness against it.
The Holy Spirit will show you what to say and what to do.

I haven't heard of any tales about apples, but he told her to hold the apple north, south, east, and west. To me it sounds as if he was trying to tell her to make the sign of the cross without saying any religious rituals. I guess he was doing it in a sneaky way, because if he get caught talking about religion in school, he's going to be out of a job. And so he had her to bless the room quietly. I think the Catholics uses burning sage making the sign of the cross in each room. But would it look right for a child to play with matches?

This is silly. Satan and his demons definitely fear Jesus and His name. Also, by fearing Jesus Father, they would be fearing Jesus, His Son (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit). One God in three persons, blessed Trinity.

While it is true that Satan fears God, we must remember he loathes God also. Satan hates us. Unfortunately, I do not think there is a human word that can describe the depths of hatred that he has in his heart. We must remind ourselves, that Satan is a liar, but far worse, he is a murderer, a rapist, a thief, a serial killer, a demon of all demons in his black heart. We must not fear him, but we must acknowledge that he is not a courtier or a jester for our King, he is the Usurper of the Throne of Earth.

Simply put, Satan is our mortal enemy. He is the Enemy. He has usurped the Throne of our Lord here on Earth, and we gave him that right of dominion over earth when we sinned all those years ago in the Garden. And every year, the World acknowledges Satan as the Prince of this world with its sinful life. We are called to spread the Good News. That God has invaded this enemy held territory, and here the King returned. Christ has reclaimed his Throne, but Satan will fight for every man, not because he thinks he can win. Instead, Satan fights because he is nothing but hatred.

I would never tell a child to light up sage to 'ward' away demons. That sounds like a native american thing, moreso than a Catholic thing. Honestly, I don't buy the whole 'make a cross with an apple' theory you have. It seems to me that you're just trying really, really hard to make his advice sound logical rather than the foolishness that it is.

Simple enough: you're being attacked/assaulted by demons...speak the name of Jesus, the power of the blood and rebuke them. Enough said.

Bless the whole house! every entry (door & window) in the name of Christ, and make a cross on the entry with a little (dab) of olive oil; not that the oil does anything; except that it shows respect unto Christ for ending the blood rituals.

It is also advised to bless the oil in the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit before using it; also for respectful purposes.
