I want to try and be respectful in my answers because this is a volatile subject. You do know that they are persecuting Christians, murdering them in these countries? Do you not think Christians are not trying to reach them? I personally know missionaries that are living in these countries and ministering in these countries. They say it is very, very difficult to bring the Gospel to them. They say the men sexually assault women in the streets. Can God change them? Absolutely! Should we be naive about what they believe and how they are infiltrating countries around the world? No. There is no paranoia in this thread. It is the truth about what Islam teaches. As I said before, when we realized what the Nazis had done we called them evil, why is Islam any different? We must be aware Angela of Islam and its deceptions. Schools have been caught trying to teach Sharia Law here in the US. Progressive liberals are aligning themselves with Muslims, why? Knowing the truth does not mean we cant pray for them to come to Christ. Islam is from the pit of hell and we need to acknowledge that. And doing so doesn't mean one is paranoid,Islamophobic or full of hate.
How could I not know what Islam is about? How could I not know about the persecution of Christians in Arab countries (things are apparently quite different in Indonesia, which is the largest Islamic country in the world.) Which is why I keep pointing to culture.
But I was not speaking of the Middle East. If God calls you to be a missionary there, well, that is incredible! And dangerous! But if God calls you... I was speaking of winning Muslims to Christ in our own countries. Because if you really want to stop the evil they are doing, winning them to Christ would be the right way to go about it. Instead of hating them because they were born and raised Muslim, and no one taught them the truth about who Jesus is.
I think as Christians, we have to rely on God throughout our lives. But all I see is people wanting to stop them by screaming hysterically about what they are, and what what they have done. This thread is up to the high twenties in pages and increasing! And most of it is fear mongering. It is about creating hysteria, instead of encouraging us to take the gospel to these people who are our neighbours. It is not about fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-21). But it should be!
I do not think Jesus would be happy at all with this crazy, looped out, paranoid thread. There really is no other way to put it. Instead of learning more about how to win Muslims to Christ, it is a disgusting attack on people who have never heard the gospel. Because when they hear the gospel, they learn about God's love. Where is the love for the lost in this thread??
There is almost no love shown in this thread. I have no doubt if a Muslim read this thread, he would become radicalized and hate Christians even more. This thread should have been about witnessing to real people, that Jesus died for, instead of a shrill and insane reinforcement of the worst aspects of Islam. (And I do agree it is a very bad, and of course, false religion)
But who did we help fanning up the fires of self righteousness and anger? We separate ourselves from God and we alienate the very people that Christ died for - sinners, who are lost and need Jesus as much as I did, when I was lost!
Did you even watch the video, Kayla? I think if you had, we would not be hashing through this nonsense of Islam versus the hearts and lives of people who need Jesus.
When I see this thread turn back into something about how we need to be bold and share the gospel with Muslims, then I will apologize for my harsh words. Right now, it is paranoia, piled on anger, piled on a lot of misconceptions and reinforcing hatred for people that Jesus died for!
"
God is love." 1 John 4:8, 16
It seems in the rush to create hysteria about Islam people on this thread have forgotten that basic truth, to say nothing of John 3:16-17
"
For God loved the world in this way:[ He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him." John 3:16-17 HCSB
