Bro! From this Thread alone my brain is resembles that of scrambled eggs!
LOL! It makes one wonder how people can look at the same evidence and come away with such divergent views.

The history of Islam is one of interpretation. There are all kinds of interpretations, that have been done since the Qur'an was supposedly dictated by Allah (NO, I do NOT believe that - it is not inspired.)
On this we both can agree.

Basically, Mohammed had a Catholic wife, and learned much about Christianity from her.
I had never heard before that Mohammed's first wife was a Catholic nun. I looked this up on-line and read that it has become a widespread belief, but that at its heart it is really only a so-called conspiracy theory, not unlike the claim that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene. What is the source of your own acceptance of this claim?

Angela said:
He also went to Jerusalem and learned about Judaism.
From my own reading I learned quite some time back that there is no evidence that Mohammed ever visited Jerusalem. Apparently he never makes that claim. It may be that this story (which I think comes from the Hadith) was concocted by those who wanted an excuse to build a mosque on the site of the Jewish temple.

It is only since the US got rid of the Shah of Iran and invaded Iraq that things have become so totally screwed up and fostered Muslim extremism.
I must disagree with your understanding Angela. Did American actions make the present Islamic extremism possible – yes. Are American actions responsible for Islamic extremism – no. US foreign policy (which I think was misguided) simply took the lid off the pressure cooker. Islamic tyrants formally kept themselves in power by violently suppressing the religious extremists. The West removed the dictators and the Islamic extremists filled the power vacuum. We didn't make them, we simply made it possible for them to take over. This has been a horrendously stupid gaff on the part of Western leaders. There is no putting this genie back into the bottle.

These people have nothing, and their only hope is to die for their "cause". This is not Islam.
You are so wrong Angela. This has been true Islam since the time of Mohammed. The thousands of peace loving Muslims in the West, who have been radicalized, are not the poor and downtrodden. Islam has always been about conquest. They have simply been shown the verses that Mohammed penned. These Islamic literalists are getting back to their roots, to Mohammed's stated purpose. The Koran is filled with exhortations to expand and dominate. We can thank secularism for turning the peace loving Muslims, you and I have met, away from the traditional path Islam has always taken, but the anti-secular mullahs are pulling them back into the true faith, to the one that set Mohammed himself on the path of conquest.

How can a religion that denies the deity of Jesus while rejecting the bible as the all sufficient rule of faith and practice while promoting a way that leads to hell not be evil and of the devil?

Precisely.

Brilliant!!!

All Muslims are to adhere to the word of the Koran because it is the untouched word. If they do not support any of the Koran. Then they are not of Islam. They needs be converting to Christianity.

I do say though. Many Muslims really are seeking the truth. They are just scared because of the Apostasy is highly regarded as treason. It does however break my heart. I have wept for them. I seriously have.

The ignorance in this forum is appalling. I confess, before I started my study, I was woefully ignorant too. (Not directed towards you, Cycel, I just wanted to also comment on this)

The history of Islam is one of interpretation. There are all kinds of interpretations, that have been done since the Qur'an was supposedly dictated by Allah (NO, I do NOT believe that - it is not inspired.)

Basically, Mohammed had a Catholic wife, and learned much about Christianity from her. He also went to Jerusalem and learned about Judaism. Then he twisted things around and added his own touches. That is why the Qur'an thinks that Jesus, God the Father and Mary are the Trinity. Wrong, but coming from 6th century Catholicism. (Not saying any Catholics here believe that!)

For one thing, the Qur'an is not just about Allah, but Jesus! They believe he is the Messiah! ....................

I don't know what quran you read, but the one I am looking at doesn't mention Jesus any where.
Quran in English - Clear and Easy to Read, with Audio.
I was told by a muslim a few years back that altho they don't believe He is the son of God, they believe He was a great prophet. I said "I don't think much of a religion that has a liar for a great prophet. Christ said He was the son, so that would make Him a liar."

Angela, this religion is garbage. You really think that from the time of Christ's murder to muhammed He let those millions of people languish in ignorance? According to islam, the only right way is to be muslim. My bible doesn't say that. Who is wrong here, Angela? This is a critical error to make. Do you actually believe people that worship a child molester are going to heaven? Do you believe that?
Angela, your friend, if that is the case, has given you blinders. Attila the Hun had friends, does that mean he was right? You need to step back and look a little harder, be a little more discerning, about islam.

The answer is the pig, why not use it and put a stop to this mess. Muslim if you come to my house I will feed you pork.
All that will do is make them mad. You want them to be more furious with you than they are? The answer spiritually is Christ. For a carnal answer, it isn't flesh of a pig, but lead from a 12 gauge.

Your true colours are showing GIS. Anyone who doesn't share your religious outlook is considered evil, but then you are in good company. The members of the Islamic State hold the same view as yourself. Anyone not sharing their outlook on the Prophet Mohammed is considered evil. Good thing, though, that your scripture does not move you to the same violent action as theirs does. “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” (Quran 8:12). This is why the members of Islamic State are so fond of beheading.
Ah, but Cycel, that is what the bible tells us - that the word of God is truth, and we know that truth is immutable. The difference between their god allah, and our God, the true God, is ours doesn't condone mutilating and killing those that disagree with us. On the contrary, we are to shake our sandals against their door stoop and leave them to their devices.

Have you ever went to school with a Muslim? Do you know any personally? There is love here in this thread. Let religion be religion. On paper and by law no one is saved. So you change a man showing him the love and mercy of God in forgiveness. We will be measured the same amount we give them.

I have known a Muslim personally. She made me a dinner once. Lots of spices were used. She did not believe in Jesus as her savior but she had His love in her heart. Even though she was not a Christian she was more of a Christian than most of the ones that I have met.

Christ was demonstrated in her heart by her ACTIONS regardless of how the world taught her to express her beliefs. THAT'S what is important! Doers of the word not hearers.

That is what Dr Zakir Naik says, 'I am more a Christian than a Christian'. Don't fall for that propaganda crap! Firstly, they are muslims and no muslim can ever be more Christian that a Christian because why? They exact themselves with the law. They don't believe JESUS is GOD and there JESUS is not the Christian JESUS so they will never ever be better or more Christian than a Christian.

A Christian is a true Christian who believes JESUS is GOD rose again on the 3rd day and is the 2nd Person of the GODHEAD bodily and in fullness. Now you cannot ever tell me a muslim is more Christian than a Christian. Based on the former I wrote.

I have muslim friends from all over the world and just because they use spices in foods means nothing to me. It seems you can be easily persuaded.

So you worship the name only? Christ said that to do unto the least of His brethren is to do unto Him. Christ is therefore demonstrated in how we treat OTHERS. No I am not a Muslim, I just don't judge any book by its cover.

Even devils believe as you do. What then separates you from them if you are murdering millions of Muslims?
