The man Moses was greatly used of God. He is known as the law giver. One of the definitive purposes of the law was to expose the sinful condition of all men. However, the law had no ability to save mankind. This is due to man's inability to live up to the righteous demands of its content. Jesus came some 1600 years after the law was given. He told mankind the truth about their sinful condition. He revealed to mankind their need for a Savior and called man to faith in Himself in order that they might be saved. But unlike the law, Jesus never asked men to perform for righteousness. Instead, He offered them righteousness through the processes of faith and grace. He offered righteousness without the law. He offered cleansing, regeneration, and abundant life. His righteousness allows the Holy Spirit to permanently abide in all believers. His sacrifice on the cross of Calvary paid the price for all of this and more. Every aspect of my inheritance is available as a result of Christ’s finished work on Calvary. He did not come offering me a chance to redeem myself. He came offering grace through the truth that He alone qualifies as my Savior.
John 1:17 - For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Proverbs 31:13
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
The virtuous wife seeks the materials needed to work with her own hands WILLINGLY to be able to provide things needed for the husband and their home. The culture has drastically changed from the way the people lived in that day compared to the day in which we live, but nevertheless, the virtuous woman will continue to WILLINGLY do her part in providing for things needed for the home. Many religious folks use Scripture to avoid work, but here we see the virtuous woman will be found working due to Scripture.
There is no laziness, nor slothfulness IN CHRIST, as the Children of God have been ordained to walk in good works (Ephesians 2:10), and if we are walking IN CHRIST, we will be carrying out the good works of the virtuous Bride of Christ. Scripture should be looked at as countless opportunities for us to be led by the Holy Spirit into more and more Truth, for here we find the greatest blessings and Christ being glorified (John 16:13-14). Whatever excuses that will not stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ should not be made today by us. Let us serve our great Husband and King Jesus!

“And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the Rod of God in my hand (Ex. 17:9).
God did not destroy Amalek, but determined to have war with him from generation to generation. He was to dwell in the land, but not to reign in it. The Sixth Chapter of Romans, which presents the blueprint for spiritual victory, says, “Let not sin (the sin nature) therefore reign in your mortal body.” This Command would have no meaning if the sin nature did not continue to exist in the Christian. Amalek is a type of the sin nature.
The sin nature dwells in the Believer, but dwells and reigns in an unbeliever.
There is only one way for the Believer to have perpetual victory over the sin nature, and that is to understand, even as Paul told us in Romans 6:3-5, that we are baptized into the death of Christ, buried with Him by baptism into death, and raised with Him by the Glory of the Father, that we “should walk in newness of life.”
The Cross of Christ is the foundation principle of our life, living, and victory. Our Faith must ever rest in that Finished Work. Only then will this “fight” be successful! (II Tim. 2:4)”

In this life there is a simple commodity that is rarely grasped but stands readily available. We have not trained ourselves to look for this precious treasure. Most live in a state of want, longing for more than that which is currently at hand. There is absolutely nothing wrong with achieving great things, setting lofty goals, having a vision for the future, or laboring to achieve! But if we fail to be satisfied with what we already have, we will never realize the extraordinary happiness of contentment. I have found that the secret to true joy is to be content with what God has already given. The sight of a blazing fire on a snowy winter night. The sound of my adult children laughing hysterically as they enjoy each other’s company. The sight of a grand baby taking her first steps. To sit quietly and take in the majesty of the glorious array of colors in the sunset. Perhaps we would be far more peaceful if we could learn to be content and grateful for the simple things that God has already blessed us with. Thank you Lord, for the simple things that you have caused me to love and appreciate on a daily basis. Thank you for the abundant life gained through contentment!
1 Timothy 6:6 - But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Proverbs 31:14
She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
The virtuous wife brings the food needed from afar, and is here related to the merchants’ ships, which transport materials needed from one coast or country to another. The virtuous wife is obviously the wife that should be sought after by any man, and any wife should seek after this way of life for her husband and family.
Again, we should be seeing the greater picture without excusing the reality of this type of woman in the home, and that is for us as the Children of God to be the virtuous Body of Christ toward Him daily. He has given us access to all things by His wonderful grace, and through faith in His sacrifice at Calvary alone, therefore when faith is right, the benefits will be the experience of His marvelous grace.

“But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun (Ex. 17:12).
In brief form, we are here given the blueprint for victory:
1. “But Moses’ hands were heavy”: When Moses “held up his hands,” Israel prevailed. When he “let down his hands,” Amalek prevailed. Functioning by his own strength, his hands grew heavy, symbolizing the flesh, which quickly wearies.
2. “And they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon”: The “Stone” is a Type of Christ. In Him, we rest, and only in Him can we rest. Resting in the midst of battle may seem strange, but the Lord’s battles are fought with Faith, and not by the flesh.
3. “And Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side”: Aaron is a Type of Christ as our Great High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, ever making Intercession for us. “Hur” is a Type of the Holy Spirit.
With the Intercessor and the Holy Spirit holding up our hands, they will then be “steady.” Then our Heavenly Joshua will win the victory, all on our behalf, but only when our obedience is as it should be. Our hands must be held up, a posture which signifies our trusting solely in the Lord. Christ acts here as the High Priest and the Warrior. To follow His direction guarantees victory (I Jn. 5:4).”

In any agricultural community the need for rain is well understood. There needs to be rain prior to the sowing of the seed to properly prepare the ground for planting. Rain continues to be a vital part of the growth of the seed as it continues its journey towards fruition. And before the harvest of the mature crop, rain is essential once again. Rain is a type of the moving and operation of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit first prepares the heart for the seed of God's Word. The Holy Spirit then enables that seed to grow and mature. In order for that truth to become a reality in the believer’s life, the Holy Spirit guides us toward the proper understanding and application of that Word. The continual moving and operation of the Spirit then enables us to realize the greatest possible benefit provided by the Word. There never comes a time when the spiritual growth and maintenance of the Word can be accomplished without the continual rain of the Holy Spirit. So, ask for the rain in your heart, in your mind, in your soul, throughout every circumstance, and every single day. Let God's Holy Spirit develop in you what only He can produce. Ask for the rain!
Zechariah 10:1 - Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
Proverbs 31:15
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
The instruction continues from King Lemuel’s mother to him concerning the wisdom of God when looking for the right wife, which God calls a virtuous woman. This woman will get up before daybreak to make sure her household is fed, and also anyone who is working for her household. The virtuous woman does not have to be talked into these things or made to do them, but has this special love and care in her heart and is a part of who she is.
We as the Bride of Christ have been given a new heart, and called unto this place of virtue (2 Peter 1:3-5). We can learn to walk in this place of virtue as we cling to the One who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20) so that He could be our Husband, and we could bring forth the fruit (Romans 7:4) of our union with Him.

“And you shall make an Altar of Shittim Wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the Altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits (Ex. 27:1).
The great Brazen Altar, which sat in front of the Tabernacle, represented Jesus and Calvary. The brass (copper) pictured judgment and the enduring strength of His Atoning Sacrifice; its polished surface, His sinlessness; its measurements, three by five, His Deity and His Grace. Its shape, foursquare, expressed its provision and sufficiency for the four quarters of the Earth; and its position, in front of the entrance to the House, that the Crucified Lamb of Calvary is the One and Only Way to God.
It was borne by staves, thereby accompanying the people in their pilgrim way to Canaan, so teaching the lesson that there never comes a period in the Christian life where the Atoning Blood of Christ can be dispensed with.
The Brazen Altar, without a doubt, was the single most important piece of furniture in the entirety of the Tabernacle. Some may argue that the Ark of the Covenant was the greatest; however, nothing could be reached in the Tabernacle, the Golden Lampstand, the Table of Shewbread, the Altar of Worship, and, above all, the Ark of the Covenant, without the Priests first going by means of the Brazen Altar. In other words, the Brazen Altar, typifying Christ and His Crucifixion, made possible the entirety of the Levitical Worship.
Presently, and forever it will be the case, the Believer will ever have access to the Throne of God, all because of Jesus and what He did at the Cross (Rev., Chpt. 5).

The fear you are feeling as a result of the bad news you have just received is quite real. What the devil is telling you is about to happen as a result of that bad news is a lie! Sudden fear is the fear that grips one as the result of negative circumstance. The parent that receives a call at three o'clock in the morning from the local police department as they ask the whereabouts of your eldest son. Fear grips the heart. The negative possibilities dominate the mind. This is sudden fear! When all that you have worked for seems to dissipate in a moments time. When the financial security that you thought you had secured escapes like a fleeting fragrance out an open window. When the sin you thought had been vanquished rises with a renewed force and demands obedience from your flesh; fear of being destroyed and fear of being discovered soars. It is in these times that the believer must look to Christ and recall the covenant benefits that are available due to Jesus’ work on the cross. It is then that God’s grace has the greatest opportunity to prove itself sufficient. Face that fear, look to Christ, and be confident in the victory that will come your way!
Proverbs 3:25-26 - Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. (26) For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 31:16
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
The virtuous woman sees a field, considers what benefit it could be for her household, purchases it, and with her own hands she plants a vineyard and watches over the fruit of her own hands. This virtuous woman longs to provide for her house and is steadfast in doing so. Not for rewards, but simply because is the fruit of a virtuous woman to see her house blessed.
Again, this is symbolic also of the Body of Christ, which is the Bride of Christ (Romans 7:4), and we have been called unto glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3-5). The knowledge we have of Christ, and are willing to walk in, and grow by THE faith in His finished work at Calvary will determine our experience of this virtue which we are called unto. We are a virtuous bride for our Christ, therefore let us bring forth the fruits of being married to Him.

“And you shall make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD (Ex. 28:36).
Aaron, the brother of Moses, was the first Great High Priest of Israel, a symbol of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is forever our High Priest (Heb. 7:26-27).
Aaron, as the Great High Priest, wore a crown of sorts, which was to bear on its front a golden plate bearing the words, “HOLINESS TO THE LORD.” In the coming Millennium, this engraving will appear on the bells of the horses (Zech., Chpt. 14). The golden plate and its engraving pictured Israel as an election before God. Imperfect as Israel was in herself, as thus represented by Aaron and his crown, she was Holiness itself.
Believer, look away from your ten thousand failures, and look upon the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is Holiness Personified, symbolized by Aaron. Realize that your Holiness is, and ever shall be, altogether in Christ. Your Faith in Him and His Perfect Sacrifice guarantees such Holiness, and a Perfect Holiness, at that, which is the only type of
Holiness that God will accept.
Man cannot perfect Holiness within himself and by his own machinations, no matter how hard he tries. It is attained only by looking exclusively to Christ and His Atoning Sacrifice (Gal. 2:20-21).”

As a minister of the gospel, I study the Word of God incessantly. My mind continuously travels over the precepts and concepts of scripture. My family and I use each other often as “sounding boards” and discuss the great doctrines of the Bible. I have the privilege of rubbing shoulders with men who have handled the Word of God far longer than I, and I consistently glean from their wisdom and insight. But at times my mind becomes troubled by all the contrasting thoughts and divergent opinions. All of the doctrinal knowledge, all of the understanding of Godly precepts, and all the applications to life’s many and varied concerns combine to send my brain into a whirlwind of clutter. Whenever my mind and heart are drowning in these seas of doctrinal divide, I know its time to return to the simplest and most elementary of truths. I bring peace to my heart and mind by singing to myself this great and simple song that establishes true doctrinal correctness. “Yes, Jesus loves me!” “Yes, Jesus loves me!” Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so!” And in just a few moments time, all is well with my soul! How I do love Him!
Deuteronomy 6:5 - And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Proverbs 31:17
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
The virtuous woman that King Lemuel is being instructed by God through his mother to search for, girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms, which speaks of her vigor and integrity to serve. In this study I am seeing how this virtuous woman is really pointing to the virtuous Bride of Christ, and the attributes of the virtuous woman found in Proverbs 31 should be the fruit of the Church as we serve with strength and integrity afforded us through our Husband and King Jesus (Romans 7:4). The very love and virtue we have was shed abroad in our hearts when we trusted in Christ (Romans 5:5).
Jesus gave His Life for a people that would become His Bride. Just as God put Adam to sleep in the Garden and brought forth a bride from his rib, He also through the sleep of the Last Adam’s death on the cross brought forth a Bride for His Last Adam. I’m so glad to be married to Jesus, for this is the only place where God can be pleased and glorified. Thank God for the cross, for it was there God reconciled a people to Himself, and there alone He betrothed us (2 Corinthians 5:19, Ephesians 1:4) to His Son. Today, we await our Husband and King who is preparing a place for us, and the beauty of what He is preparing is far beyond what we can contain in our minds. He is coming soon!

“And you shall make an Altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shall you make it (Ex. 30:1).
When Aaron and his sons were anointed, with the description given in the Twenty-ninth Chapter of Exodus, the sons were anointed with him, and not he with them. Everything is connected with Jesus, of which Aaron was a Type.
The Precious Blood of Christ had first to be poured out before the Spirit could be poured forth; and sinners must first be washed from their sins in that Precious Blood before they can be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Thus cleansed and sanctified, worship at the Golden Altar of Incense is possible; but not otherwise!
This Golden Altar of Incense sat immediately in front of the Veil which separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle. Coals of fire were to be taken from the Brazen Altar outside and placed on the Golden Altar, with Incense poured over the coals, which typified the Intercession of Christ on behalf of His People.
Having brought His People out of Egypt, God established the Brazen Altar outside the Tabernacle and the Golden Altar inside; He appointed a Mediator to maintain relationship with Him in order that He might dwell among them. That Mediator was Aaron, the High Priest. The Brazen Altar symbolized the perfection of Christ’s Sacrifice for sin; the Golden Altar, the preciousness of His Person. The Golden Altar itself spoke of Jesus. The wood and the gold pre-figured His Humanity and Deity; it was crowned and it had staves to bear it so as to be the day and night companion of a pilgrim people.
The Incense burned upon it spoke of Him. Aaron himself, in his robes of glory, pictured Him; and the light of the Golden Lampstand foretold Him, Who, being the Light of that world that needs no sun, came into this world to be its Light. That Light is Jesus!”

Every storm that we encounter has a purpose. There is nothing in our lives that ever occurs that God has not either allowed or ordained. The hidden purposes of any storm will always surround the removal of the things you do not need and promote the addition of those things which will benefit you in your walk and growth in the Lord. So the next time you encounter a storm, be sure to grasp the truth that God has not just arbitrarily left you out in the “cold.” Understand and believe that He has prepared the exact circumstances required to assist you in becoming the person He wants you to become. Take Paul, for example. He desired to go to Rome to preach the gospel. However, I do not think his initial plan was to arrive in Rome as a prisoner, bound by a Roman chain. Yet in all this, he never considered himself a prisoner of Nero or of Rome. He always declared himself a prisoner of Jesus Christ. He knew who had authored his storm and rather than fight it, he kissed the chain! Do you find yourself in a storm today? Do not complain, doubt, or fear. Just kiss the chain!
1 Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
