The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 3:26
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

This Scripture is where we see and learn that everyone is not a Child of God, but only those who are In Christ Jesus by faith, which is faith “In His Sacrificial work at the Cross”, for there is the ONLY entrance opened to ALL. Every person that has ever been born is a part of God’s creation, but ONLY those who have trusted in Christ and His work at Calvary have been born again, and are the Children of God.

Christ is the Door to the Father and all that The Father has for those who believe upon Him, but the Cross is the hinge that opens the door. The Life which all are searching for is ONLY found in the Blood of Jesus (Leviticus 17:11, John 6:54). God gave Himself for humanity at Calvary, and when He gave Himself for us all, through the giving of His Son, Jesus Christ, He gave us all things! There is nothing from God outside of that avenue, and there is nothing received by the Lord from us outside of that avenue! Jesus is the Door, but the cross is the hinge that opens that Door! He did the work!

Stand

Warfare is a part of every believers life, whether we like it or not! It is for our benefit that we are tried by the fire to purify our faith, as well as teach us how to stand in war. When many people think about the word stand, they would think probably of just taking a certain position on a particular matter or simply putting your body in an upright position on both feet. Those meanings are true and good, but we have to understand as believers when God tells us to stand, it could take on a little different meaning than simply being in an upright position. As we live for the Lord, we should all come to the place we’re we learn how to stand. It’s not always easy, but it is necessary in the life of believers.

At the very moment we gave our heart to the Lord, we enlisted into the army of God. The reason we take on the roll of a soldier is because we automatically are going to be engaged in spiritual warfare. The enemy is going to do all he can to simply overthrow our faith. He will wisely attempt to hit us where it hurts most. He has a myriad strategies to attack the believer so that fear and unbelief may set in. If we as believers succumb to the lies and strategies, we will lose our way.

This is the reason we have to be suited and ready for battle. The scripture teaches us that our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with the different ranks of Satan’s army which are; Principalities, powers, ruler’s of darkness, and spiritual wickedness.

We have to understand that our boss, brothers, sisters, husband, wife, or children are our issue. Demon spirits can use whoever makes themselves available, and I mean anyone. Being clothed in the armor of the Lord will give us all the protection we need. We have to be certain that we are properly dressed and ready for battle. As the battle ensues, we have to stand in the midst of all the debris, chaos, and the agony of battle. When the Lord tells us to stand, He means for us to be planted, rooted, and firmly placed not giving any ground. I’m reminded of the Sumo wrestler when the match begins how they plant their feet in an attempt not to be moved! Stand your ground children of God! The Lord is with us!

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

ABRAHAM

The Jewish people had their beginning with Abraham. God called this man out of Ur of the Chaldees, which is modern day Iraq. It is amazing, as given to us in the Word of God, as to the number of Biblical things that have had, and do have, eternal consequences, which had their beginnings in Iraq. In the Bible, this area is referred to as Babylon, Babylonia, the Chaldees, Assyria, or Mesopotamia. Actually, the city of Babylon is mentioned more times in the Bible than any other city, with the exception of Jerusalem. The following might be of some interest:

● It is believed by some Bible scholars that the Garden of Eden was located where Babylon would later be built.

● Adam and Eve were created in Iraq.

● The first worship of the Lord took place in the Garden of Eden, which is in modern day Iraq.

● The first temptation occurred in Iraq.

● The terrible “Fall” occurred in Iraq.

● The Voice of the Lord was first heard in Iraq.

● The first sacrifices were offered in Iraq.

● The first recorded obedience of the Sacrificial Offerings, as it regarded Abel, took place in Iraq.

● The first refusal of God’s Way, which was by virtue of the slain lamb, and carried out by Cain, took place in Iraq.

● The first murder took place in Iraq, with Cain killing his brother Abel.

● It is believed that Noah’s Ark was built in Iraq.

● It was the Babylonian Empire, located in Iraq, which destroyed Judah and Jerusalem.

● The Book of Daniel in the Bible was written in Iraq.

● It is believed that the Antichrist will make his headquarters in Iraq.

● Incidentally, Iraq is the site of the first organized rebellion against God, as it regarded building the Tower of Babel.

● As well, the various languages of the world, instituted by the Lord, took place in Iraq.

● In one sense of the word, it all began in Iraq, and it all will end in Iraq.”

Bread Crumbs “Gratefulness” August 7

Being grateful is an emotion that displays a thankful heart. Gratefulness shows that some action or act of kindness has brought benefit, even joy, to the life of another. To display this attitude of appreciation is something we as believers can freely display to the Lord. It costs us nothing but a few moments of our time. I can tell you that I feel obliged to proclaim my deepest thanks to a God that found me when life was a struggle. The despair, the loneliness, the bondage, and disappointment were common fare for each and every day. Try as I might I could not rise above myself, my situation, my poor choices, my bad habits, or my sense of helplessness. But Jesus burst upon the site of my life and lifted me unto a higher plane of living. No longer am I being helplessly hauled from one bad moment to the next daily disaster. My life has been turned around by “the Master,” "the water walker,” "the miracle worker,” the Lord Jesus Christ. I’d like to shout it from the rooftops and say a great big “thank you” to the one who cared about me before I even cared much about myself. He has done so much for me, I cannot tell it all!

Psalm 106:1 - Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

The baptism into Christ is NOT water baptism, but rather it is a baptism into death WITH CHRIST (Romans 6:3), for it was there the Last Adam represented us and Redeemed us from the curse of the Law, the guilt of sin, the Sin Nature and everything else that had ever been contrary to our relationship with God (Colossians 2:14-16). The only Way into Christ is through believing with the heart unto His Work of Righteousness at Calvary (Isaiah 32:17, Romans 6:3,10:10). This is God’s exclusive Way of us putting on Christ INITIALLY AND DAILY.

The very moment anyone has ever trusted in Christ and His Redemptive work at the cross for the forgiveness of their sins, they have put on Christ. Now interestingly enough the Word of God encourages us to put on Christ daily so that we will not make provision for the lusts of the flesh to be fulfilled in our lives (Romans 13:14). This shows us that we have put on Christ at initial Salvation, but daily and exclusively must be found trusting in Christ’s work at Calvary so that we can put Him on to prevent the onslaught through our flesh, the enemy and all that is contrary to God’s good, acceptable and perfect will for our lives. The cross of Christ is God’s only answer for ALL things pertaining to Life and Godliness! When we leave the Cross, we leave God (Galatians 1:6, 5:1-4), and it is not Him leaving us, but us falling from His Grace.

Bread Crumbs “Let The Blessings Come” August 8

Whenever a person has a desire to better himself in some way, there is a tendency to force, even to manipulate the situation to his perceived advantage. We must be careful not to be driven by covetousness or any other personal agenda when pursuing what we feel could be a blessing from the Lord. The truth is, when the Lord does something for us it is not difficult to be entreated. It is peaceable, it is without prejudice, it hurts no one else, and once the desired goal is arrived at, it fits seamlessly into our lives and does not cost us more than we can pay. So be very careful not to force your way into any situation. Chances are, if you have to do that, what you are trying to attain or achieve might not be of the Lord. Be patient! Let God bring His blessings to you! Seek God incessantly and be able to discern the difference between an open door of blessing or a carefully laid trap of the enemy. We are to expect the blessings of the Lord but through a developed sensitivity to the Spirit, we can avoid the catastrophes of the flesh.

Proverbs 10:22 - The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 3:28
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

In Christ Jesus refers to our new position in Christ through faith in His death on the cross, for it was there we were immersed into His Body (Romans 6:3) by baptism of His death. There may be many different local Churches all over the world, but we are all one Body of Christ. The Galatians are pretty much being told lots of different things by lots of different people, but mainly the Jewish Judaizers are telling them that they are inferior to the Jewish people. It doesn’t matter that Israel was God’s people down through the ages, and that He gave them EVERYTHING, for what matters since Jesus came is who is a believer in Him. He is the fulfillment of all Israel was ever promised of God.

If you look into the next verse (v 29), you will see Paul revealing to the Church of Gentiles in Galatia that even they are Abraham’s Seed if they belong to Christ. Amazing! What is so heartbreaking is that all the Jewish people from the time of Christ until now who have rejected Jesus as Messiah have not made heaven their home. There is only one way for the entire human race (John 14:6), and outside of that Way, eternal damnation is the result. I’m so thankful today to finally be able to see the Word of God in the Truth through which He offers all things to those who will trust in Christ and His Redemptive work at the cross, instead of spending my whole life twisting God’s Word to be what I think it should be.

The written Word of God is our Light (Psalm 119:105)
Jesus the Living Word of God is our Light (John 8:12)
Jesus as the Lamb of God is our Light (Revelation 21:23)
These three must never be separated or it will not be the Light that shines from heaven.

The Restoration Of Peter

“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.” — John 21:17

The Failure
As Peter stood on the banks of the Sea of Galilee, his mind flashed back to that horrible night. It had been the darkest of nights. It had been the worst of moments. The memory remained, freeze-framed in his mind. Since then, Peter had remained but a shadow of his former self.

Failure has a way of ripping any fabric of self-confidence from a person. It steals the energy and drive for the Lord and His work. What Peter thought he would never do, and what Peter swore he would never do, is exactly what he had done. How many times have we ourselves boasted inwardly or out loud, “I’ll never do that!” Then, a short time later, we find ourselves doing the very thing that we had confirmed so arrogantly that we would never do. Peter told the Lord that he would never deny Him. He swore that he would die before disallowing His Lord. To his credit, in the garden that night when the soldiers had come, Peter had drawn on his fleshly strengths and struck out with a sword, only to be rebuked by Christ. All of the others had simply fled.

However, the story didn’t stop there. He and John had followed closely on the heels of the soldiers, down to the house of the high priest. They had waited in the courtyard to see what the results of Jesus’ arrest would be. There Peter was confronted and in a short few minutes, he had denied the Lord three times. When Jesus turned and looked at him, Peter could not bear it. He swiftly departed from the courtyard, broken-hearted, horror-stricken, and unbelieving that he had done what he had just done. He had denied his Lord; not once, but three times. Our failures have a way of attaching themselves to our hearts and minds and forcing us to relive them again and again. Sin is a powerful enemy. It seeks to make fools of all of us. Sadly, there has never been a man born, with the exception of Christ Jesus, who has not fallen prey to sin’s insidious designs. At one time or another, we all fail.

Faltering Faith
That particular incident ended even worse than it began. Jesus had been condemned, scourged, and crucified. Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea had retrieved the lifeless body of the Christ and placed it in a garden tomb. The disciple that had betrayed Jesus (Judas) had committed suicide. The helpless, hopeless disciples huddled together in a room behind locked doors, fearing for their lives.

Then, three days later, women came from the tomb with a strange story. They said that Jesus was alive. Others said they had walked and talked with Jesus on the road to Emmaus. Then, the moment came when Jesus Himself appeared in the middle of the locked room where the disciples hid themselves. Faith came alive. Yet, almost as quickly as He came, He disappeared. The temporary assurance and hope slipped quietly away.

Thomas, a member of their intimate group, refused to believe what the others had seen. Faith faltered. Then, a week later, Jesus appeared to them a second time. He told them once again to go to Galilee and wait for Him there at a place previously appointed.

All of these thoughts crossed Peter’s mind as he stared out over the Sea of Galilee. It had been nearly two weeks since the death of Christ, and the disciples had traveled there, only to be held in suspense, waiting and wondering. Seven of them stood by the sea with Peter and heard him say, “I go a fishing.” This was more than a declaration of fishing for a need for food. Jesus had called them to be “fishers of men.” However, when faith in what Christ has promised falters, we are prone to forsake the calling on our lives and resort to our own methodologies for survival.

When Peter stated that he was going fishing, he was really saying, “I guess we must have been mistaken. We really didn’t see the Lord. It’s all over, boys. Let’s head for the boats and do what we know how to do. There is no sense waiting on the Lord. I’m afraid He’s not coming.” So, they took to the boats, fished all night long, and caught absolutely nothing. Whenever we rely upon ourselves, our own abilities, our own insights, and even our individual strengths, things don’t turn out too well. That is especially true when Christ has called us to the work of the ministry, and we fail to attend to that call because of a failing on our part that has produced a lack of faith. Failure always steals hope from the one who fails.

The Reinstatement
After fishing all that night, they had nothing to show for it. Near daybreak, a stranger stood on the shore and suggested that they throw their net on the other side of the boat. They did so, and immediately, the net became unmovable. What was happening? Had they snagged the nets on some unseen, sunken debris? As they applied more effort, the net began to rise, and it was overloaded with fish.

When we follow the instructions of the Lord and do what He says, there will always be success. When we do things our way, the nets remain empty.

When Peter realized it was the Lord standing on the shore, he threw himself into the water and swam toward his Master. After dining on the substance that the Lord had prepared, Jesus looked at Peter and asked him a question: “Do you love me Peter? Do you love me more than these?” The memory of his failure leapt to the forefront of his mind. In his sorrow and embarrassment, Peter refused to express what he really felt. He was afraid that he might fail again after expressing his devotion to the Lord.

Jesus asked Peter the same question three times. He followed each question with a statement: “Peter, feed my sheep.” Jesus was letting Peter know that the calling that rested in his heart had never been rescinded because of his failure. In his own special way, Jesus restored Peter in that hour. He was always meant to be a fisher of men.

The confidence that Peter gained from this restoration encounter stayed with him the rest of his life. In just a few days, the power of the Holy Spirit would fall upon Peter in a special new covenant way. The one who had denied and denounced the Christ became the leading voice of the early church.

What Jesus did for Peter, He will do for you. If you have faltered or failed in your calling, confess that fault to God and heed the clear, clarion call of Christ to feed His sheep. In Jesus name, rise up in the power of the Holy Spirit and make full proof of your ministry! The gifts and callings of God are without repentance.

Bread Crumbs “A Fresh Start” August 9

Fresh starts are something that God designed, not so a person could live in sin and embrace wrongdoing, but to supply the exceptional option of beginning again. If God denied us the opportunity to be forgiven, cleansed, and to rise above a failure, there would be no one in relationship with Him after a very short period of time. Having the opportunity to start fresh, to start anew, to begin again, to have the classic “do-over,” is what God has put into place for those who truly love Him. Those who do not allow this marvelous magnificent move of mercy on God’s part towards others, are in essence, eliminating that blessing for themselves. Why in the world would you deny someone else today the very same option that you will need, long for, and desire, tomorrow? God knew that our journey towards eternity would be a most difficult road. He knew that we would need to be encouraged along the way in our faith. God grants us assurance, that through repentance, grace, and faith, we might always have another chance to perfect what we once approached poorly or did incorrectly. "Dear Lord, thank you for the ability to enter into a renewed lease on life in the land of the living, today!”

1 John 2:1 - My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

If you have trusted in Christ and His work at the Cross alone for the forgiveness of your sins, you are Christ’s. This means we are Abraham’s seed, not after his flesh, but after the same faith he had when he believed the gospel, which is God saving the ungodly through faith (Romans 4:3-5, Galatians 3:8). This is what makes Abraham the Father of Faith to all those who have their faith in Christ (Romans 4:11-12). The Galatians were being lied to just as many are being lied to today in an attempt to move God’s people away from obeying the Truth, which is faith in the cross alone (Galatians 3:1).

It is a subtle and very deceptive matter to hold God’s Truth, yet not experience the Life of that Truth. When we handle God’s Word outside of its context of Righteousness (Proverbs 8:8, 12:17), which is what the Judaizers were attempting to get the Galatians to do, there is no experience of Life (Proverbs 12:28). It is the Righteousness of God that brought us the very faith by which we live (Romans 1:17, 2 Peter 1:1), and only the Truth reveals to us God’s Righteousness (Proverbs 12:17), and His Path of Righteousness (Psalm 23:3). The Cross of Calvary is where God started and finished everything that would pertain to His relationship with man! Don’t walk away from it, and if you have today is the day of your Salvation as you return!

Bread Crumbs “Seeking Things Above” August 10

When a true Christian begins to honestly evaluate all that God has provided for him in the marvelous experience of salvation, it should bring about a significant change in the direction of that life. We as believers have been united with Christ, crucified with Him, buried with Him, raised with Him, and are now enjoying the quickening power of the Holy Spirit as our life’s power source. Our natural response should be one of a heartfelt searching for the person and desires of God. After all, we have been forgiven all of our sin. We have been made new creations in Christ Jesus. We are no longer under a law that we can't keep, but rather, have been placed under God's Grace which teaches us and empowers us to live holy and righteous from a source completely outside of ourselves. Because of these truths, my mind and my entire inward man should constantly be straining to attain to and better understand the things regarding this God. He has already done so much for me. It just makes sense that if He would make all this available to me, even before I knew Him, how much more can He do in and for me, when I choose to forever and always set my heart upon Him?

Colossians 3:1 - If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 4:1
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

God’s Word will easily be understood and plain to those who never leave the Cross of Christ as the object of their faith, and who never leave the context of what is being written. Paul here is in an attempt to overthrow the attempts of the Judaizers to bring the Church back under Law, for God does not operate there, but only under Grace. He is here revealing that Israel, even though they are the people of God, have been a child and have been no different than a servant as they have waited on their Savior. Even though Israel was the heir to all of God’s promises, until Christ came they were under the Law.

Under the Law, the inheritance cannot be obtained, therefore why go back to only a “Waiting place?” Many Christians are again today dabbling in the Hebraic Roots Movement, only to be found functioning under Law where the curse exists, which in God’s eyes is where the Sin Nature dominates (Romans 6:14, 7:9). It is not only this “movement” that allows the Sin Nature to dominate the Christian and the door to be opened to Satan himself, but any object of faith that we are trusting in other than Christ and His atoning sacrifice at Calvary. At the Cross is where God sees our faith, or He doesn’t see it, or rather He doesn’t accept it at all. The Way that leads to Life is narrow, as His name is Jesus and that Way is the Cross!
