The city of David is Bethlehem. The tabernacle of David is not a city, it's a building.
Amo_9:11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

In the day you say Israel gets the land, the tabernacle of David is raised up. If you can understand what the tabernacle is, then you can understand what time period Amos 9 is talking about. It's talking about the first advent of Christ.

No, it goes on to say Israel will be planted in their own land again, never to be uprooted from it. Your interpretation is clearly wrong

Amo 9:14 And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

What happens to Israel in verse 14? Are they put back in "their land" or are they put back into captivity again?

and I will bring my people Israel back from exile.[SUP][f][/SUP]“They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;
they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
[SUP]15[/SUP]I will plant Israel in their own land,
never again to be uprooted
from the land I have given them,”

says the Lord your God.

So you believe all those eminent scholars who took 15 years to write the NIV completely misunderstood the meaning of those verses?

And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God. verse 15KJV

It seems you are getting a wee bit desperate here

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled Luke 21:24 KJV

Now that cannot have come to pass BC can it, nor at Christ's death at Calvary
However, the human intellect is very resourceful and not to be underestimated!

Sure it has. Israel was led captive into all nations in AD 70 and Jerusalem has been trodden down for the last 2000 years.

Would you agree, the intellectual mind of man is a stumbling block to learning spiritual truth when it is relied on to learn such truth?

Reading the bible and believing what it says is not "the intellectual mind", that's called faith. On the other hand, reading the bible and not believing what it says or adding to what it says to prop up a preconceived belief is "the intellectual mind".

To those who support Zionism, what will be the spiritual condition of Israel when God put's them back into the "promise land"? Is God going to put a new heart in them first and then move them back into the land or is God going to take Jewish heathens and put them back in the land and then 60, 70 or 100 years later change their heart?

Amen..........

Or taking away from what is says would also be caused by the intellectual mind I would add

“I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. [SUP]3 [/SUP]On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. [SUP]4 [/SUP]On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,” declares the Lord. “I will keep a watchful eye over Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations. [SUP]5 [/SUP]Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’[SUP]6 [/SUP]“On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume all the surrounding peoples right and left, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]“The Lord will save the dwellings of Judah first, so that the honor of the house of David and of Jerusalem’s inhabitants may not be greater than that of Judah. [SUP]8 [/SUP]On that day the Lord will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the Lord going before them. [SUP]9 [/SUP]On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem.
Mourning for the One They Pierced

[SUP]10 [/SUP]“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit[SUP][a][/SUP] of grace and supplication. They will look on[SUP][b][/SUP] me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. Zech 12:2-10

Some undoubtedly will have that new heart before others, for some Jews in Israel now are Christians

On the day every one of them is turned to the Lord they will all have a new heart obviously. Then they will all know Christ, from the least to the greatest. Where does it say in scripture, until that time NONE of them will be saved-have a new heart? I must have missed it, sorry

Michael can't you see that Zechariah 12-20 was fulfilled when Jesus died on the cross?

Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

Joh 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
Joh 19:35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
Joh 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
Joh 19:37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
