Yes it is. No resurrection = No hope.
Again, where has the OP claimed that he doesn't believe in a future resurrection? Quote it please.

Not everything I disagree with is a heresy. But full preterism definately is. It teaches teh second coming CAME AND WENT.
On what basis do you call it "heresy"? It isn't called heresy by the early church fathers, so why do you call it such?

The fact that you dont agree with that should be surprising, but considering you are the man who used the words "misogynistic patriarchy", its no surprise you are soft on doctrine too.
Questioning is not disagreeing. Your reasoning is fallacious and your ad hominem comment has all the merit of a pile of dung.

Very disappointing to see that we are at a stage in Christianity where calling out something as heresy that denies the second coming of Jesus is yet future is seen as a negative thing. The modern western thought really has done a number on Christianity!
It's very disappointing to see that you can't discuss an issue without resorting to fallacious appeals to fear. It's also disappointing that you have to attack the questioner rather than simply answering the question.

I wont put you on ignore, but i wont be responding to your stuff no more, i just cant see the use. Just saying that so you know its not fruitful to write to me since I wont be writing back. God bless you and your family though, hopefully you tighten things down on the doctrine department and start taking a stand.
What a ridiculous, closed-minded response. I've only questioned your statements.

What specific language in scriptures leads you to the 70 conclusion? I can't find it.
Here is a list of Scriptures that all point to 70 A.D. as the kingdom of God on earth and the beginning of the new heavens and earth.

Matt 16: 27-28
Matt 24: 30-31
Matt 10: 17-23
Mark 13: 26-27
Luke 21: 27-28
Daniel 12: 1-2 (this is at the end of daniel's 70 weeks which daniel 9: 26-27 tells you ends with the destruction of the city and temple)
Daniel 10-12 is the detailed description of the 70 weeks prophecy at the end of Daniel 9.
Luke 21: 31 "the kingdom of God is near"
All of Matthew 24 & 25 is talking about 70 A.D.

History:
The Byzantine Papacy was a period of Byzantine domination of the Roman papacy from 537 to 752, when popes required the approval of the Byzantine Emperor for episcopal consecration, and many popes were chosen from the apocrisiarii (liaisons from the pope to the emperor) or the inhabitants of Byzantine-ruled Greece, Syria, or Sicily. Justinian I conquered the Italian peninsula in the Gothic War (535–554) and appointed the next three popes, a practice that would be continued by his successors and later be delegated to the Exarchate of Ravenna.

With the exception of Pope Martin I, no pope during this period questioned the authority of the Byzantine monarch to confirm the election of the bishop of Rome before consecration could occur.

Bible Prophesy::
Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. This beast had two horns like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon. And this beast exercised all the authority of the first beast and caused the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose mortal wound had been healed.

Bible Prophesy fulfillment:
The first beast is a governmental leader (Emperor) and the second beast is a clerical leader (Pope)
Throughout history the 1st and 2nd beast jump from one person to the next, from one dynasty to the next, from one empire to the next...

1st Beast = Justinian I "the Great" (527 - 565AD)
1st Beast = Justin II (565 - 578AD)
1st Beast = Tibernius II Constatine (578 - 582AD)
on and on...
1st Beast = Charlemagne (800 - 814AD)
on and on...

History:
Within 50 years (Christmas 800), the papacy recognised Charlemagne as Holy Roman Emperor. This can be seen as symbolic of the papacy turning away from the declining Byzantium towards the new power of Carolingian Francia.

There was two large volcanoes that erupted fairly close in time. One in 535/536 and the other in 539/540 CE. And It should be emphasized that large eruptions do not simply chill the world. The effects on weather and climate are non-uniform. They are regional and can differ markedly, as Pinatubo and Tambora have shown. Tropical eruptions, such as the 539/540 event, also exercise a different force on climate than high latitude Northern Hemispheric ones, like 535/536. For instance, major near-equatorial volcanism is known to cause winter warming in North America, Europe, and Russia, but winter cooling in Western and Eastern Asia. Extratropical Northern Hemispheric volcanism cools hot and cold seasons alike. Seasonality matters too. That high latitude eruptions seem to be more impactful if they occur in summer could indicate that the 535/536 eruption happened in that season.
So which bowl judgment was the 2011 Tohoku earthquake?

You are continuing to double down on your erroneous beliefs as I predicted. Which confirms that you have been indoctrinated and brainwashed. There's no point discussing this nonsense any longer.
You keep responding with emotional arguments but you did not answer Matt 16: 27-28. The only answer for it is that it means what it says. Jesus' second coming was in 70 A.D. just like He promised. That is when the new heavens and earth began.

If you disagree with my assessment of Matt 16: 27-28 then tell me your interpretation.

Nobody is saying that there is no resurrection. It already happened in 70 A.D. When we die we immediately go to be with the Lord in our glorified spiritual body.

It is not heresy. Jesus kept His promise and came back in 70 A.D. How do you explain Matt 16: 27-28? He did not reward every man according to his deeds at the transfiguration. These verses along with Matt 24: 30-31 and Matt 10: 17-23 tell you He was coming back in His generation.

The resurrection is past. Christians die and immediately go to be with the Lord at death. There is no need for Christ to come back because He already did.
Unscriptural. All believers are resurrected or translated....both alive and asleep....at the exact same moment.

But if the resurrection already happened in AD70, that would mean that majority of Christendom never got to experience it. You say resurrection happened in AD70, then say "nobody is saying there is no resurrection". Sorry i dont understand that at all. I agree we go immediately to be with the Lord when we die, but not in glorified bodies, that will only happen at the resurrection, which I believe is future.

How do you explain Matt 16: 27-28?
You got me there, I got no decent explanation. Anyone got one? Feel free to educate both of us. Two birds with one stone!
I think the transfiguration explanation is lacking because of verse27 which states rendering to each according to their works etc.

But how do you on the other hand explain this place we are in currently being new heaven and new earth? Cause this place sucks!

Ahem. I was refering to the 3rd Temple of Ezekiel and the one Jesus was refering to. You know. The one in the bible?
The Ezekiel temple of 40-48 is a picture of the church. It is symbolic of the church, the New Jerusalem. I know you will disagree and that's fine. God will never dwell in another temple in the middle east. That ended 2,000 years ago.

Matt 16:27? Obviously hasn't happened yet. So obvious. And wrecks your theories.

Roku Go back and read some of the early church creeds, take for example the Apostles' creed.

It mentions Jesus coming back in the future.

Clearly the early-church didnt believe this already took place. And again how could it have? Like one sister already pointed out, when Jesus returns, NOBODY will miss it. The Bible makes it clear. Revelation 1:7

Life wont go on as it was before after Jesus has returned. Right now it does, its like in the days of Noah. When Jesus returns it wont be like that no more. Thats already a clear sign we're still here.

I just cant believe this conversation is taking place actually. Has anyone done any research on how many full preterists there are in the world? Are there any churches that teach that? I dont know of ANY denomination or non-denom church that does.

So you respond with an emotional attack and I used Scripture, that you didn't respond to, that shows Jesus said He was coming back in His generation.
But I did respond to your quote of Scripture---------
Said you had zero understanding of Scripture.
I learned a long time ago that it is impossible to discuss Scripture with those who have been brain washed with stupid beliefs.

Unscriptural. All believers are resurrected or translated....both alive and asleep....at the exact same moment.
That happened in 70 A.D. Those in the graves were resurrected, some to everlasting life, some to everlasting contempt, those who were alive were "caught up" spiritually in the clouds and air to always be with the Lord.

"Clouds" represent the heavenly host, like angels or saints, in Scripture. Hebrews 12: 1, "Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses..." You often see angels on clouds with harps. There is a reason for that.

In Matt 27: 52-53 we see saints resurrected after Jesus on Sunday morning. He was the first born among the dead and a select group immediately followed Him out of the tombs. These were the "first fruits" to God. I believe they were the "cloud" in Acts 1 that received and carried Him out of sight along with angels to the Ancient of Days in Daniel 7: 13 & 14 to receive His kingdom and bring it back.

The "air" is just the heavenly realms. Eph 2: 2 talks about "the prince of the power of the air". It's represents the heavenly realms.

So what is Paul saying in 1 Thes 4: 16-17? It is not about living Christians flying up in the air and being transformed. It is covenantal transfer. It is spiritual. When Adam and Eve ate in the garden they died spiritually. They were separated from God.

Jesus repaired that separation at the cross. When he brought His kingdom back with Him in 70 A.D. the breach was repaired and the saints and Old Testament believers were allowed to leave Sheol and enter heaven. Spiritual resurrection. Those alive were caught up with them spiritually not physically and would join them later at death when they would immediately enter heaven not having to wait. That is what Paul means in 1 Thess 4: 16-17.

It is no longer having to be separated from God spiritually. Paul talks about being "in Adam", the realm of the flesh, or being "in Christ", the realm of the Spirit in Romans 5. It is transferring realms. It is covenant language. When you die you are clothed with Christ fully and are made in His likeness. Just like the Old Testament saints would say that they would "awake in His likeness". They had to sleep. We don't have to being on the right side of the cross.
