For all of you that aruged over pointless threads like "Is the law your tutor?" And "Which laws are and are not valid" here's one that should clear all debate (but it won't. Because this is the Bible forum, after all). The only law you're under and should be concerned about is Jesus. He said it Himself in John 14:6 "I am the way and the Truth and the life." So now that this is posted, let the debaters come out of the woods worth.

i've been writing a lot of computer code lately.
i find that one runs into errors when they use the same name for two different functions or variables.
maybe this is why Jesus told us He is the Way, but never said He is the "law" ?

Likewise, my brothers, you also have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God.
For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.
But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.

(Romans 7:4-6)

Jesus is the only One we follow.
This one will get people going. Jesus is not God, but God the fullness of God is in Christ Jesus. It's the Lord Jesus, not the Jesus Lord.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Acts 19:5 Name means the fullness of ones character.

There is no scripture stating "Jesus is Lord" or "Jesus Lord" without a comma, but there are 4 scriptures with a comma as in "Jesus, Lord" when people are addressing Christ in conversation. Matthew 17:4, Luke 23:42, John 11:21, and John 21:21

Jesus is the "right hand of God."

Consider this scripture when thinking about The/our Almighty God in His fullness.

"And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all." 1 Corinthians 15:28

This doesn't take the deity away from Christ, but as Jesus Christ said of Himself, He was always in subjection to His unchanging Father who is the Almighty God. Therefore the law of Christ is also the law of God. There is no difference in anything God has ever spoken, and anything that Jesus Christ ever taught, or represents that differs from His own Father who gave the law to His own. So yes, Jesus is the Spiritual representation, and epitome of His Father's law.

So much heresy; so little time.

Simply cannot address this adequately right now - need to take a sick dog to the vet.

I will ask this rhetorical question, however:

Part 1 - Do you believe that the Law can save?
Most Law 'keepers' will say, of course, no.

Part 2 - Do you believe that Jesus can save?
Most Law 'keepers' will say, of course, yes.

Oh, the dilemma . . . .

If Jesus is the Law, but the Law cannot save, then Jesus cannot save, and you have just another useless, works-based religion.

If Jesus is the Law, and Jesus saves, then the Law must be able to save, and you have just another useless, works-based religion.

Selah.

The whole point of this thread was to poke at those always calling for heresy. There is no "law" we're bound by. We're only bound to Christ. That was my initial point to those still trying to figure out "what laws to and not to follow." Follow Jesus. That should be simple enough.

lol... apparently you were right :)

no punctuation in the Greek, so not sure about all that.
but in English Bibles, how 'bout 1 Cor 12:3?

no comma there.
Kyrios Iésous. Lord Jesus. no?

John 1:17 (KJV) For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? :)
The verse before the one you show puts forth brother as law there

Equaling of the law.png

My brothers keeper, or law keeper, as love keeping the law would be being your brothers keeper in the sense of things

"Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost." 1 Corinthians 12:3

This scripture is correct as far as defining that we see the Lord (God Almighty) through Christ Jesus. Jesus is the representation of God's perfection, just like the conversation that Jesus had with Philip. The KJV has inverted the original script however.

"Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?" John 14:8-9

1 Corinthians 12:3 is Simple and beautiful, yet perhaps the most power statement of belief in all of Paul's letters. A declaration of such magnitude as this most certainly demands original Hebrew and Aramaic to comprehend the fullness of such a bold statement and revelation.

Aramic to English reads; "I therefore explain to you, that there is no man that speaks by the Spirit of Elohim, who says that Yeshua is accursed: neither can a man say that Master YHWH is Yesuah, except by the Ruah haKodesh.

So in this scripture it is clear that God is Jesus, not that Jesus is God. Lord Jesus, not Jesus Lord.

kyrion Iesoun (Rom 10:9), kyrios Iesous (1 Cor 12:3), kyrios Iesous Christos (Phil 2:11); literally, simply "Lord Jesus (Christ)." But because in Greek the "be" verb is often implied rather than written explicitly, and because often the direct object comes first and the subject afterward in Greek grammatical construction, "Lord Jesus." And it makes sense that the confession would simply be "Lord Jesus," because some version of that phrase as a title for Christ appears (by my count) 104 times in the New Testament. So, nothing odd here, right?

i'm tryna avoid disputatious mode, so i'll just ask what sources there are that 1 Cor was originally written in anything but Koine Greek, please?

also, kinda perplexed by that last line

I missed the previous conversation; having jumped to the last page of the thread; so I have no comment here except to say that it's great to see you still posting.

I hope this means you've decided to stay.
