I read the link in the first post of this thread. It's nonsense. Having the faith to declare God's Biblical promises is scriptural: it's not "new age magic." Many genuine Christian evangelists throughout Christendom have had amicable personalities and focused on relationship building. It is within this context that they present the Gospel. They don't all come as Old Testament prophets screaming for people to repent or burn in hell nor are they all required to.

At the end of every service at Lakewood Church, Joel Osteen shares the Gospel message and gives people an opportunity to respond to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ:

Does Joel Osteen believe you should be saved? - YouTube

Should be saved!? Is salvation an option now?

Ricky, there is a very wide gulf between he's an evil pagan heretic false teacher and there are some changes/reforms that he should make. The first you oppose but the second you pray for and engage for change. The second is the right approach with Joel Osteen: not the first.

Now I can't recall but are you one of the Oneness Pentecostals I've striven with. If so, Oneness heresy would be an example of the first as it violates an essential of Christianity while engaging in all sorts of false teaching to support the heresy.
Define 'oneness pentacostal' please.

Some ministries are real on TBN but most are the word of faith cult and Paul and Jan crouch are apart of the word of faith cult
Paul and Jan..the blind leading the blind...to Joel Osteen.

It's not hate really. Unless hate means being disgusted at the false teaching that is creeping into the church. Trying to please evryone so as not to offendnthem that their problems could be a result of sin. Or not even having the courage to confront sin to the people who spend their money on his books telling them how wonderful they are. "Think yourself above your circumstances and ALL will be okay".

In some cases yes. But they were born again upon receiving the Gospel of Jesus Christ when they heard it through TBN. And, that is the point I made.

Perhaps some moved on to "more orthodox assemblies" because someone has exposed the error of this teaching.

Don't be another quote miner engaging in fallacious behavior. How would you like it if I went through all your posts and found things that you've said which I could twist to mean something other than what you meant when you said them and then use that to label you a heretic and morally blighted person? Would you like that? Would you like it when thousands of people believed the lies and began to ridicule you and seek to destroy any ministry you have? No, of course not. But you engage in exactly that very behavior.

I'm glad you removed that last post anonimous because I was going to say:

I didn't compare Joel to Paul and Jesus. You did. It's part of the pattern of fallacious behavior you're engaged in. What I said exactly is: "Christianity has had to deal with this since the Pharisees opposed Jesus and Christian teachers opposed Paul in Philippians."

What I meant is that opposing God's ministers has been going on since Jesus and Paul. You twisted it to mean something I never said. This appears to be an ingrained personality flaw of yours because it continues to occur.

I posted a video of Joel proclaiming the Gospel and encouraging people to repent, receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and savior, start anew in Christ, something he does at the end of every one of his services, so an intelligent person would already know that I have sat and listened to him. I listened to him issue a call for people to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Billy Graham used to go on UN-Christian talk shows, Robert Schuller's services, etc... to spread the good news and there was a time in Billy's ministry career where he wondered the same thing Joel does. I know because there's a monument to it at Forest Falls, CA which I've read in person with my own eyes. Yet Billy was a Christians who spread the Gospel both before and after he eventually came to grips with the Bible as the sole infallible Word of God and Jesus Christ the only way to salvation. Or, is Billy Graham just another heretic on a very long list of Christian ministers you degrade? I hope not.

It's noteworthy that God extended salvation to many before the appearance, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ on this earth which Jesus Christ helped create. The Bible states there is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ. Yet, God extended salvation through Jesus Christ to Old Testament Jews, the gentiles that fought with David, gentiles like Melchizedek, and gentiles that never even heard the name of Jesus Christ because God could and wanted too. Jesus Christ died for their sins too. They aren't in hell.

But I know what you're saying. Joel has to finish his growth in this area as Billy Graham had too. Like I said, you should be praying for him and sending his ministry emails encouraging him too take the step from I know Jesus Christ saves to Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation instead of going around internet boards degrading him as an evil morally blighted heretic.

Anonimous, at this time I do believe you're a genuine Christian with a good heart and a well-meaning person. I'm not trying to beat you up so if I've done that I'm sorry. I know you're for Jesus. I'm just trying to be real with you by sharing the truth as best I can and to the fullest of my understanding. Trust me when I say I've been run over 1,000 times.

If you are one, then you already know.
I hate putting labels on people, every time you think you've got someone in a nice tidy box they do something outside of it. And even within a boxful of people they're all different.

If I HAD to put a label on it, I'd call my 'brand' Functional Christianity. If God tells us we are to cast out demons, I think we should function at a level where we are able to discern and cast out demons. If Jesus tells us to heal the sick, I think we should function on a level that allows us to partner with the Holy Spirit and bring healing. If Paul tells us to responsibly speak in tongues and prophesy, then we should function on a level that gives us the freedom to speak in tongues and prophesy.

What you won't find me doing is proclaiming loudly how my God is all powerful, then backpedal on His power by saying 'oh but these things don't apply today' and 'those things died off a long time ago' and 'oh that was all meant for someone else'. My God is powerful enough to use me to cast out demons, heal the sick, and bring prophesy.

And if you want to stick a label on that, go ahead.

I think all this tak about people is perfectiy ridiculous. We are men of God, our whole being in zeroed into the Kingdom of God. There have always been people who are not of God, not of His Kingdom. We are to put on the whole armor of God, we are not to judge but let God take care of that, but never waver from the path God shows us through scripture and the Holy Spirit.
