I believe Sister "quiet in church" goes much farther than Joyce for the Kingdom of God. Sister "prays alot", Sister "testimony", Sister "doesn't teach men", Sister "gives of her living", Sister "prophetess", Sister "submissive to husband" all of these sisters do much more for the Kingdom than Joyce. How about a book for women, by women about being decent and in order, instead of a practising delinqent like Joyce Meyer. Older women are allowed to teach younger women according to the Bible. That's half the people on the globe (everyone female). I believe that people are overlooking what women could do. They can teach other women. They can teach children. They can witness to people without ever taking authority over a man. And so many other things a woman could do and never talk in Church or take authority over a man. It's almost like women are forgeting about other women.

THe spirit of poverty is a spirit of spiritual lack that affects the person that has it in the natural. Almost every person that is poor, is lacking spiritually as well as financially. So Joyce Meyers is RICH??

Well GOOD FOR HER!! She has proven herself to be worthy of blessings of God and He has blessed her.

AND YOU ARE JEALOUS.

Colossians 2:13-15
New King James Version (NKJV)
13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Spirit of poverty? peleeazz, it's not even biblical except Matthew 5:3 which has nothing to do with wealth.

And we are in no way jealous, i am sure any Spiritual person would HATE exposure to fame and health.. Jesus is not the God of this world.

Amen to that sister!

i like health but wealth is a big temptation ... I wonder if we should believe Maggie or JESUS?

Matthew 5:3
“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 6:20
Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: “ Blessed are you poor,For yours is the kingdom of God.

thinking of how many people are deceived by this fake Christianity makes me sad....

1 Timothy 6

17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— 21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith.
Grace be with you. Amen.

YES!! and also add this Matthew 19:24.

Matthew 19:24
New King James Version (NKJV)
24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

Proverbs 23:4-9
New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Do not overwork to be rich;
Because of your own understanding, cease!
5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.
6 Do not eat the bread of a miser,[a]
Nor desire his delicacies;

7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

“ Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.
8 The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit up,
And waste your pleasant words.
9 Do not speak in the hearing of a fool,
For he will despise the wisdom of your words

I looked into a lot of the TV evangelists and most of them are the same high salaries,a private jet or 2, million dollar homes..Jesus and the apostles were servant leaders they took what was given to them and helped as many as they had funds to do so. We are to bring the tithes into the storehouse. If what has been given is not being used to help the children of GOD and spread the message of his kingdom then you know there is a problem. When I could find the information on a tv preach less then 10% of what they took in went to help they people. We are not to go after the goods of the world. If the preachers did not have all that the world had to offer and used what was given to them for god. Just think how many people would be able to live in a house, go to bed with food in their stomach, get the needed medical care. When we send our money to whoever we send it to we need to check that it is being used for what it was sent for.

I have no issue with money one way or another.

It's the false teaching. Let not many be masters (didaskolos - teachers), for theirs is the greater condemnation.

Cheerful giving is the NT standard. Tithing is actually impossible according to scriptural command.

So let's not bring tithing into the televangelist controversy.

Wow.. and where is your evidence to prove that all poor people have lacking spiritual lives and that all rich people have solid spiritual lives? That's standing in pure judgement over people lacking in finances. And is neither founded in fact of any kind, nor in any biblical teaching.

I was not trying to make tithing the issue there is more them one way to see a wolf in sheep's clothing. We need to watch all that they do to see if it lines up with the word.

Matt 23:23Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

2 Kings 5:26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to recieve money, and to recieve garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? 27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed forever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

Elisha the prophet is talking to his servant who took money and clothing for the work of God by lieing, after Elisha said he would not take it from Naaman.

The bigger you get, the farther you stray...happens quite a bit. Probably is what happened to Joyce Meyer. She got so big she forgot the point of why she even started doing what she's doing.

Not saying this is always the case, because sometimes it is God's will for you to be well-known (not puffed up with pride and full of luxury...I think there's a difference). Just look at Christian artists. God uses them all the time. And even though preachers (not including nor excluding Joyce Meyer. Just talking preachers in general.) and/or Christian artists might have money, they tour a BUNCH. Touring is a lot of things, but not always luxury...especially if you don't like flying or if you get carsick. And that's what ya do when ya tour...ride in buses and fly on planes. You're away from the place you call home...

I've been to Christian concerts with big-name Christian artists. And they always feel so freeing to me. The atmosphere is always so nice (sorry if that sounds weird), the message feels like it's being spoken right at you...you can feel the Holy Spirit there!! You can tell they didn't forget why they're doing what they're doing!
