EXOD.35 [2] Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.[3] Ye shall KINDLE NO FIRE throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

Kindle no fire. Ya think this might be a parable? I do. Due to scripture ive found. And after all, common sense should tell ya that some of Gods people might be in the colder regions of the world. They might have to start a fire to stay warm or cook some food. Your thoughts....

There's absolutely a spiritual parable there. By the time the Sabbath comes around, your fire for serving God should be one that you don't need to kindle or start. It should already be there.

The first time I tried observed this command, I ended up staying up all night keeping the wood stove going in our house to keep it warm. (I'm pyromaniaclly challenged.) I kept wondering what the point was. Then God asked me if I would be that diligent keeping my relationship with Him strong.

And after all, common sense should tell ya that some of Gods people might be in the colder regions of the world. They might have to start a fire to stay warm or cook some food. Your thoughts....
Kindle means start. It doesn't mean you can't have a fire on the Sabbath, just as long as you're not starting in then.

But, I prefer the Kindle to the Fire. Is it saying no Kindle or no Fire?

They obviously didn't have thermastatic control central heating back than.

Does it count if an electronic timer turns it on. Lol

Can you make black & white, white & black on your Kindle?
I don't know, I haven't used it in so long I don't remember. But I think that would only make it doubt itself.....

That is precisely the scheme the Jewish influenced manufacturers of various appliances use to circumvent this ordinance. It is sold as "Sabbath Mode" appliances. It's even used in elevators.

Wow, never heard of that before I had to look it up.
Maybe we have the Jews to thank for the ideas behind many modern appliances.

It would not work for me though, if I see a big button I just have to press it. Lol

The Jews have long been notorious in their subterfuge of getting around their very own religious laws.

If I would MUSE on it, I MIGHT say this

Exodus 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations
upon the sabbath day.

And this man (and what he intends to do)

Numbers 15:32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness,
they found a man
that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

Would be as sticks/wood to kindle a fire in his habitation, since it says,

Prov 26:21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire;
so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

And James says,

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member,
and boasteth great things.
Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

And this seems to be an issue
(Seeing the tongue is a fire James 3:6)

Isaiah 50:11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire,
that compass yourselves about with sparks:
walk in the light
of your fire,
and
in the sparks
that ye have kindled.
This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

Or it could be about bic lighters and using them on the Sabbath too (just sayin') if i used my wild imagination and would actually put out there a passing thought (not a cement one, for God forbid) but just to be a little crazy (or imaginative) a thought

The sabbath was never for colder regions of the world. It was only meant for the land of Israel as fulfillment of Jacob's vow to give back to GOD a tenth of the increase of the land that GOD promised to give to him.

And he said unto them, The sabbath [was made for man]
, and not man for the sabbath:

And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another,

and from one sabbath to another,

shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

But what if you start your car it runs on fire?

I suppose the laws were intended to show just how difficult it was to
be righteous on our own. One way or another every person would break
them, either intentionally or unintentionally.

It makes it all the more spectacular that Jesus came to bear that heavy load
of sin and impute us with his righteousness.

People should feel relieved they no longer have to carry around all those
Torah laws any more. I don't even think I would have remembered them all!

Its interesting though to speculate on whether there was a deeper spiritual
symbolism behind them. I was thinking of the parable of
the wise and foolish virgins who were all suppose to keep the lamps
burning until the groom came.

Maybe the kindle thing was about being prepared and ready - just imagine if God
had shown up on their sabbath and no food or heat was available.

But then there is the example or a Mary and Martha where that literally did happen.
One was frantic making preparations, the other sat and had a sabbath days rest.

Wow I could really go off on a tangent with this one, I'm sure there is a good
sermon in there somewhere. :)

Wow Jesus wants us to rest in Him, Hallujah what a saviour.
