"Their falling down causes them to worship"? Really? Perhaps you'd care to rethink that. The elders' correct apprehension of the very presence of God caused them to worship.

Your assertion regarding English grammar is simply incorrect. "And" in this case does not indicate causation, but only additional action. "I put down the cheese and picked up the butter"; the two actions are unrelated, and connected only by temporal proximity. While "and" normally indicates subsequential action, it certainly does not indicate consequential action.
Yep, but still kneeling down is not meant as worship. We can knell and pray or we can kneel to ask for help.

You are desperate and splitting hairs.
How often do you kneel down & pray, asking for help from someone/thing that is not a diety?

Psalm 95
6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.

Daniel 6:10 (KJV)

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

I see I have a new fan. I wonder if @Lorielhn will step up and provide some rationale for the multiple dislikes.

Umm, this would depend on the context. This time, the Hebrew text has a different way of stating bowing and worship, and kneeling. Here are other translations in view of bowing, worship and kneeling for consideration:

Psalms 95:6
JuliaSmith(i) 6 Come, we will worship and bow down before Jehovah: he made us.
Psalms 95:6
Darby(i) 6 Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker.

Psalms 95:6
CLV(i) 6 Come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before Yahweh, our Maker."

Psalms 95:6
Coverdale(i) 6 O come, let vs worshipe and bowe downe oure selues: Let vs knele before the LORDE oure maker.

In these cases, the word bow down, worship, and kneel have taken different Hebrew words though there are similarities yet they have their differences, and when translation per se it would depend on the context.

From the little history of 16th and 17th century England which I've read and mostly on Wikipedia it seems that the KJV was the outcome of the desire for the English king to put himself in charge of church and state. So I've read somewhere the divine right of kings was of primary importance in the making of this translation?????? So if we use the KJV we need to know that it is biased that way???
It is better to not heed unto spurious historical records. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Jesus Christ said, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. And it is written in the psalms, he that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Right now I feel the lion chewed me up but spit me out so he can watch me squirm before devouring me. Let the historical be what it may! I wasn't there at the time. Lucy Worsley seems to be doing a 'good' job with history and will possibly sort it out someday and if not her someone else!!!!

My dear friend, have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? And unto what were you baptized?

I am not sure if I or anyone else has received the Holy Spirit or Ghost since coming to believing and even though I was baptized twice that seems to have been in a cult and my 'understanding' of anything to do with religion was minimal at the time although I grew up Catholic I was TOTALLY ANTAGONISTIC to religion and am quite certain I harbored that antagonism at least till 1988 and possibly till 2017. I listened to a Charles Spurgeon sermon early today and contrary to the those with folkish perceptions or those SPIRITUAL GIANTS with their hotlines to god which think they have been 'saved' or 'born again' or are 'holier than', Spurgeon's messages sound 'closer to truth' than a lot of the 'righteous' pablum some post here.

Sir, it would seem that you are verily confused. When a man receives the Holy Ghost, he will speak with tongues, and magnify God. As it is written, they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Secondly, what is
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost?

I realize now there are many people who consider themselves to be in 'perfect harmony' and feel themselves to have 'all' the answers, but I read the scriptures and understand some of what is written there. If you would read the scriptures you will find admonish regarding such matters as self righteousness and ideas which are not in compliance with scripture. Some of the commentaries I read at the Bible hub site are also helpful and may benefit you too.

I see no evidence of "political bias". Of COURSE I don't pay any attention to the KJVO Foolishness,
since all major Bibles the same things sometimes using different words, but changing NOTHING
of importance. The KJV has been my "Main Squeeze" for over 70 years, and I know most the work-
arounds for the areas of lousy translation, so no need to go anywhere else for God's written Word.

Y'all can do whatever lights your fire.
Heh, did you start reading before you were born?:unsure:;):giggle:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Thy blood be upon thine own head; I am clean.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I have the Holy Ghost...I speak English which is a tongue.
Then you, John, do not have the Holy Ghost. All men who received the Holy Ghost spake with tongues, and prophesied. And if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Speaking english with understanding is not what happens when one is baptized with the Holy Ghost. He speaks in an unknown tongue. And he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. If I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth but my understanding is unfruitful.

With all due respect, John, but only a man who has never sought God in his Word will come up with such a foolish statement.
Dost thou not therefore err, because thou knowest not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

Filthy dreamer, the second epistle of Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ is not written to you sinners. It is written to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

The LORD rebuke thee, thou child of the devil.

Lucy Worsley is a historian in Great Britain. Programs of her work available on PBS. Henry Ford once proclaimed, 'All history is bunk'.
Someone else proclaims, 'Those who don't know history are apt to repeat it'. I have tried reading some of Philip Scaff's 'History of The Christian Church' but find it a tough slog. Schaff refers to so many sources it seems easy to get stuck in weeds or going down a rabbit hole with his work. At least that is for me. The 'True History in The Bible' I can't decipher on my own so I refer to any and all sources that appear to be trying to shine a light on the 'truth'. Even with best intent there is error. i.e. Alexander MacLaren's commentary somewhere states that the language spoken in 'The Garden' was very rudimentary. I sense MacLaren to have been sincerely in earnest of providing as accurate a portrayal of Biblical events but feel him to be inaccurate here. To my mind, the statement regarding God bringing the animals to Adam to name them indicates an 'ADVANCED' level of language and it most likely degenerated rapidly on expulsion. MY OPINION!!!!!
And this too is part of history.
