Do you not believe that the Bible forbids "bestiality"...?-(GRA said jokingly)

I don't know........I'll have to look that one up..........
(I tell you it is easier to separate the words of the KJV from everyday language.).........
......Just a thought.

Right. Because they do not "mix" well...

The grammar and usage of the middle English language is "unique enough" to "set it apart" from modern grammar and usage.

The thing to "be most careful of" is the difference in definition of some of the words...

All-in-all, once you "get your bearings" - it is not as difficult as a lot of people might think...

:)

is it time to say good bye to the KJV? It has served us well for 400 years. It will eventually be unreadable, as it is to most of the world now.
I feel a person is better off reading a newer version of the Bible than the King James Version, because the definitions of some words in that version have changed significantly over the centuries.

The King James Bible actually is rated at a 5.8 grade level average.
Is the King James Bible harder to read
Flescher-Kincaid Readability Study on the King James Bible

Besides this the King James Bible 1611 edition, is the only bibe that has stood the test of time. It has been preserved entirely since the day I was first published.
Psalm 12:6-7 (KJV)
6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

The King James has never been altered as ALL the other bibles so called have. Every so many years these other bibles are changed, rewritten, reworded, etc.. Aslo every bible except the King James Bible 1611 edition, also know as the Athorized Version have been bound by a copyright. You can not copy these other so called bibles and distribute as you wish without written permission. The King James Bible is not bound by a copyright law. Why? God tells us why in his word.

2 Timothy 2:9 (KJV)
9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

You can copy any and every word of the King James Bible and freely distribute it to whom ever all you want.

My own children have never struggled with reading the King James Bible. My seven year old reads his King James Bible every day and loves it.

Nope, not at all.

The King James Holy Bible which is God's perfect and infallible word is here to stay. The KJB is very readable. A child can read and understand the King James Bible.

Corrupt modern translations like the NIV, ESV, GNT, NLT, Amp, NKJV, The Message, etc are all from the Alexandrian, Siniaticus and Vaticanus manuscripts. Of course the NKJV is very deceptive in that it blends Textus Receptus readings with the Critical Text/Nestle Aland readings. And it is also estimated that there are between 80,000 to 100,000 word changes in the NKJV. Also, the NKJV has numerous footnotes all throughout its text in an attempt to discredit the time tested and God honoured Authoirzed King James Holy Bible.

most of this is incorrect...but it pretty much summarizes most of the popular misconceptions and misinformation about the king james version...

the king james version actually -did- go through several revisions...the most recent one and the one almost exclusively printed today is the 1769 revision... the main reason for the revisions was because of all of the misprints that had crept into the text over the years...so much for being the 'preserved word of God'...

also although the king james version is commonly referred to as the 'authorized version'...this name is actually a misnomer...there is no documentary evidence that it was ever given an official authorization...

finally the king james version -was- bound by copyright for many years before going into public domain in most countries...in the UK the king james version is -still- bound by royal copyright and you need permission from the british crown to print or distribute it...

the one bible translation that anyone is allowed to print and distribute anywhere in the world is actually the NET bible...a modern translation...

the first time i posted in this thread i listed two advantages of the king james version...now i will name some of its weaknesses...

first there is the archaic nature of the language... it contains outdated words that are not commonly used and therefore not commonly understood... it also contains words whose meanings have changed -significantly- over time...for example in king james' time 'meat' meant food in general...'communicate' meant to share...'conversation' meant behavior...'prevent' meant to come before...'meddle' meant to mix...'allege' meant to prove and 'prove' meant to test...

these easily misunderstood archaisms can cause serious theological errors...the best example being the notion that 'God creates evil' based on a misunderstood verse in the king james version... what most people don't realize is that in king james' time 'evil' meant misfortune or calamity...the result is that a fairly standard scriptural exposition of God's providence is twisted into an almost marcionist heresy...

after seeing that error about a hundred times i am starting to think that a dictionary of english archaisms should be packaged with every king james version bible... there is a reason the majority of cults even today prefer the king james version...it is because the archaic language makes it so easy to accidentally or even deliberately misinterpret...

other examples of doctrinal errors resulting from language issues in the king james version are the term 'Godhead' which is really linguistic and theological gibberish...and the mistaken notion that 'lucifer' is an actual name of the devil...

besides the outdated language...there is also the fact that the king james version is based on outdated understandings of hebrew and greek vocabulary and grammar... for example the king james version's reference to 'giants' that is at the heart of so much controversy nowdays is simply a deferment to the septuagint's choice of words...which in turn was a deferment to old pagan mythological notions about primordial giants...

the king james version is also based on outdated critical editions of the new testament itself... the 'textus receptus' that the king james version was translated from was compiled from a handful of monastic manuscripts by an unwavering roman catholic...one of the manuscripts which happens to be the basis of one of the most controversial verses in the king james version is a known fraud... the 'textus receptus' is now known to be inferior and not representative of the original text of the new testament...

for all of these reasons the king james version...although it does have the advantages i mentioned in my first post...is no longer a very good bible for serious exegesis...

The King James Bible has not gone through any revisions. You should know this. Now there are several editions of the King James Bible but the very words and text of the Authorized King James Bible has never changed. The King James Bible is the preserved word of God.

A careful correction of earlier printing errors does not call for a revision. Most of the "so called & alleged THOUSANDS of changes" that took place in the KJB were actually just spelling changes as well as typographical and font changes.

Here is a quote from the American Bible Society had to say about the text of the King James Bible:

"The English Bible, as left by the translators (of 1611), has come down to us unaltered in respect to its text..."
"With the exception of typographical errors and changes required by the progress of orthography in the English language, the text of our present Bibles remains unchanged, and without variation from the original copy as left by the translators" (Committee on Versions to the Board of Managers, American Bible Society, 1852).

And finally here is a quote from one of Will Kinney's article:

"The King James Bible contains 791,328 words. Since the first King James Bible rolled off the press in 1611 to the King James Bible you buy off the shelf today, NOTHING HAS BEEN CHANGED in the English text aside from these minor corrections of printing errors nor in the underlying Greek and Hebrew texts that were used in the making of this magnificent Holy Bible."

Again, we don't have any original texts. We have some early manuscripts which date back to the 2nd century and possibly one or two fragments which date back to the late 1st century.

Rachel, you are clearly wrong with your view point in regard to this video. God deals in numbers. Your statement about numerology being "superstition" is just your opinion. It is not superstition and it is not divination. Brother Michael Hoggard has done a good job of showing what the Lord has revealed to him in the King James Bible. I suggest you read the article: The King James Code. TO see the beautiful numerics and code of numbers that can be found all through out the King James Bible. What's very fascinating is the number 7. And how the number 7 can be seen all through out the King James Bible.

And do you know what the King James Code proves Rachel? It proves that the King James Bible is a supernatural Book. And it is a supernatural Book because it is God's Book.

And if you think it's cultic to believe that God has kept His promise to perfectly preserve His words to us so that we could have a written Final Authority, well then you really need to study the Holy Bible more on what it says in regard to preservation
.

Now check out this excerpt from Mike Hoggard's article The King James Code:

And see the beautiful pattern and signature which God has placed within His holy Book, the Authorized King James Holy Bible.

Now here is the Excerpt from the King James Code:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The Number Seven[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] I have decided to save the best for last. You may have, by now, seen some things you have never seen before, but it hasn’t been enough to put you over the edge of belief just yet. What follows in this last chapter is, without a doubt, the most incredible set of codes and patterns that you have ever seen. The number 7 is God’s very own number. If His Word is going to have an association with any number, it would be this one. Please read very carefully, and let the Spirit guide you into all wisdom and knowledge.[/FONT]

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The number 7 is associated with God, and with Divine completion and perfection. It has become apparent to most who read the scriptures, that the number 7 is the most significant number in all of the scriptures. It is the number most often mentioned when you ask someone to give them a number out of the Bible. As a person reads the Bible, they often encounter this number and conclude that there must be some very special significance to the use of this number in the passage that they are reading. With that in mind, it stands to reason that there must be some extremely important patterns that are associated with the number 7. As you read through this section, you will understand that the use of the number 7 in the King James Version, is what sets it apart from the other English translations. Here are many of the various patterns associated with the number 7.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The very first version of the written Word of God was a little, two tablet book commonly called The Ten Commandments. They are the basis of the laws that govern this great nation. The devil is increasing his attack on the Ten Commandments because of what they represent. God has placed a very important value on the Ten Commandments, for, we find them located in the 70th chapter of the Bible, Exodus 20. The Bible mentions that they were written on "tables of stone." In fact, the Bible mentions 14 (7x2) times that they are written on tables of stone. [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]As I mentioned earlier, it is very clear that the words, phrases, verses, chapters and books of the scriptures have been arranged in a perfect order. It would be impossible for men to manipulate a group of documents in this manner, especially men who, in many cases, lived thousands of years apart. One pattern that I discovered about the Divine arrangement of the Scriptures was revealed to me as I read Genesis 1:1. This verse details the beginning of the creation of God. Notice it is in the first book of the Bible, the first chapter, the first verse. The first things always belong to God. I remembered that there was another place where there is a similar passage. It is in John 1:1. Notice that it also begins with "In the beginning", that it is in chapter 1, and verse 1, but what about the book. It is not the first book of the New Testament. However, from Genesis to Luke, there are exactly 42 (7x6) books. This makes John the first book of a whole new set![/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]How do we know which Bible to use? The bible you use must be the true "Word of God." We are told that Jesus is the Word of God in John 1:1. He is also given that title in I John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." It seems odd that most of the modern translations omit verse 7, or place a question mark by it in the form of a note that says that this passage does not appear in some Greek texts! The phrase "word of God" is found exactly 49 times (7x7) in the Authorized Version of the Bible! [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Jesus and the Bible are forever linked together. They are in reality, the same thing. He is truly the Word of God. The title of "the Word" that is given to Jesus is found exactly 7 times in 5 verses, including being found in I John chapter 5 verse 7! They are listed below.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](John 1:1) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](John 1:14) "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](1 John 1:1) "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;"[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](1 John 5:7) "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](Rev 19:13) "And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]These verses are copied exactly as they are found in the Scriptures. I have added emphasis to some of the words, but have not changed them in any other form. The capitalized "w" at the beginning of "Word" was put there by the translators, but was not contained in the Greek manuscripts. Do we yet not believe that the Hand of the Almighty was on these men as they compiled and translated this sacred Book? Does the Bible you read and trust in contain this Divine pattern?[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The number 49, being the product of 7x7 is a tremendous number, for it compounds the idea of completion that we find in the number 7. This very equation is found right in the text of the scriptures themselves.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](Lev 25:8) "And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Since this number was so important to God, it is very reasonable to assume that His Word and His Son should be associated with this number. It reveals to us in these last days, exactly who His Son is, and now reveals to us which Bible is His truly inspired Word.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The Bible itself states that the Word of God is a book of parables. The word "parable" is found 49 times. The word "parable" is found 7 times in the book of Numbers. All of them are found in chapters 23 and 24, and all of them are spoken by Balaam, the first time being found in verse 7 because, (Num 23:5-7) "…the LORD put a word in Balaam's mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak. {6} And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab. {7} And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel." In Psalm 78, we are told that God speaks his Word by means of the parable, (Psa 78:1-2) "Maschil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. {2} I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:". And we are also told that all the words of Jesus are in parable form, (Mat 13:34) "All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:". [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] It was Paul who warned us about a false gospel.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](Gal 1:8-9) "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. {9} As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Notice that this warning was so strong that he mentions it twice to get the point across. There is a difference between the real Word of God, and the false gospel. Paul and Peter made sure that we understood this, because they spoke of The gospel of God. This phrase is found exactly 7 times in the scriptures. The 7th time it is used is an indication of what will happen to those who do not obey the real gospel.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](1 Pet 4:17) "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]As we have seen before, the Holy Spirit is represented elsewhere in the scriptures as being the "breath" of God. God tells us in Ezekiel 37:14 that He will "put my breath in you, and ye shall live." In Genesis, God did this with Adam. (Gen 2:7) "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." This is the first place we find the word "breath". Notice that it is in verse 7. The word "breath" is found 42 times. God took the number for man (6) and multiplied it by the number for God (7).[/FONT]

this video is pure numerology... numerology is superstition at best and divination at worst...either way it is not from God... the fact that the 'king james only' adherents are using -the occult- to defend the king james version should tell us everything we need to know about this cultish movement...

Excerpt from the King James Code (Part 2.):

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]In the two listings of the lineage of Jesus Christ is the manifestation of 7 displayed. The account given for us in Matthew chapter 1 lists 42 (6x7) generations from Abraham. The account given for us in Luke chapter 3 lists 77 generations from God who created Adam, the first "son of God", to Jesus, the "true Son of God." Jesus’ title of "Son of God" in its various forms is found 49 (7x7) times in the New Testament. It is found only one time in the Old Testament, recorded in the book of Daniel.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](Dan 3:25) "He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Check your modern translations for this verse. The NIV records it as "a son of the gods." There can be no mistaking that this points to Antichrist and not the real Christ! The scriptures do attribute a "god" status to fallen angels. The word "gods" is found a total of 244 times in the scriptures. This is a product which has the number for the world (4) as its multiplier (4x61). These false "gods" are truly earthly and not heavenly.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Our Savior is also given the title of "Son of Man". This phrase is found 196 times in the AV. This number breaks down to 49 (7x7) x 4! The last place that this phrase is used is in Revelation 14 verse 14! Check your modern translations for this same pattern. Is this title found exactly this many times in any other translation? I do not believe that it exists outside the King James Version. [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] In John 12, the doubters ask Jesus a very simple question. (John 12:34) "….who is this Son of man?"[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] I know who it is. It is Jesus Christ. How do I know for sure? It is all in the numbers. The phrase "Jesus Christ" is found exactly 196 times in the King James. The exact amount of times that the "Son of Man" is found![/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The unity of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and the Church is established exactly 7 times in the King James Bible by use of the phrase "are one." This phrase is only found 7 times in the scriptures, and, it is not associated with any other idea.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](John 10:30) "I and my Father are one."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](John 17:22) "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:"[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](Rom 12:5) "So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](1 Cor 3:8) "Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](1 Cor 10:17) "For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](1 Cor 12:12) "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](1 John 5:7) "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Comparing this pattern with the NIV, I discovered that in Romans 12:5, this phrase has been divided up to change the meaning, in I Cor. 3:8, the phrase is missing and replaced with "have one purpose", which is not the same as being one with someone especially God. God and Satan have the same purpose, to draw all men in worship to each of them respectively, but this does not make them "one." In I Cor. 10:17, the phrase "are one bread" is replaced with "are one body", the phrase is omitted in I Cor. 12:12, and the entire verse of I John 5:7 is completely gone.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]There is a two-word phrase that is used repeatedly in the scriptures to describe the total authority and power of Almighty God. It is the phrase "most high". Truly, our God is the Most High God. He is given this title exactly 49 times in the Scriptures. Listed below, are the places where this title is either mentioned in the 7th chapter, the 7th verse, or one of its multiples.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Genesis 14:18, Genesis 14:19, Genesis 14:20, Genesis 14:22, Psalm 7:17, Psalm 21:7, Psalm 77:10, Isaiah 14:14, Daniel 7:18, Daniel 7:22, Daniel 7:25, Daniel 7:27, Hosea 7:16, Hosea 11:7, Mark 5:7, Acts 7:48, Hebrews 7:1.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Isaiah 14:14 is the verse where we find that Lucifer’s sole desire is to be like theMost High. Hebrews 7:1 is the 49th place that you find God’s special title of Most High.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]As we saw earlier, Jesus’ title of "Christ" is found 555 times in the Bible. We also found, according to the lineage of Luke chapter 3, that He is the 77th in line from God the Father. When we count forward to the 555th chapter of the Bible, we find that it takes us to Psalm 77! Our God is a God of perfect order, and so then is His Word. Might it also surprise you to know that the word "church" is found 77 times in the Authorized Version?!!!! [/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Now, let’s take this just a little further. Let’s look at the 77th chapter of the Bible. It is Exodus 27 (20+7). This chapter has 21 (7x3) verses in it. In the 21st verse we find this passage.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif](Exo 27:21) "In the tabernacle of the congregation without the veil, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel."[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] This phrase is a common phrase that refers to the church of the Old Testament. This is the first occurrence of this name for the church. It is found in the 77th chapter of the Bible, the 21st verse. This phrase is found exactly 21 (7x3) times in the Book of Exodus. It is found exactly 133 (7x19) times in the whole Bible! (19 just happens to be 7+12!)[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] And the list goes on and on.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] Allow me to display some of the 7 related patterns in column form. In this first column, we will list the various titles and attributes given to God and His Son Jesus, followed by the number of times that particular phrase is mentioned in the KJV.[/FONT]

  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Son of Man 196 times (49x4)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Jesus Christ 196 times (49x4)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Word of God 49 times (7x7)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Son of God 49 times in the New Testament (only once in OT)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Most High 49 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The Word of the Lord 245 times (49x5)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]The Word 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Husbandman 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]My Beloved Son 7 times[/FONT]

  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Thunders (God’s voice) 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]God of Israel 203 times (7x29)[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] I will now list for you the various names that are identified with the Church, along with the number of times they are mentioned in the scriptures. Many of these have not previously been mentioned.[/FONT]

  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Church 77 times (as in the 77 generations of Luke 3)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Kingdom of God 70 times, found only in the New Testament[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Assembly 49 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Bride 14 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Firstfruits 7 times in the New Testament[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Daughter of Zion (or Sion) 28 times (7x4) [/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Daughter of Jerusalem 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Daughters of Jerusalem 7 times (all in the Song of Solomon, found only one other time in Luke 23:28)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Children of Israel 644 times (7x92)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Congregation 49 times in the Book of Exodus[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Tabernacle of the Congregation 21 times in Exodus (7x3)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] 56 times in Numbers (7x8)[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Witnesses 49 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Fishers (as in fishers of men) 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Peculiar 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Kinsmen 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Worshippers 7 times[/FONT]
  • [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Workmanship 7 times[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif] If in the course of my study, I had encountered one or two of these patterns, I might not have thought too much of it. But as you can clearly see, the evidence is overwhelming, and is growing day by day. There has not been a single time, when I dedicated myself, my time and my study to the Lord, relying on His inspiration, that I have not been shown more of His signature in the King James Bible. It is my hope that all who discover these wonderful truths, will also come to revere this most special of all books, the way I have.[/FONT]

I prayed about posting this because I don't want to hurt anyone's faith. But a lot of bad things came out of the Hebrew Bible code publication, too. I'd rather you have faith in God than in a translation:

This is only because you chose to count 7. There are 8,000 or so different words in the KJV (that's how many entries are in Hebrew Strongs, and KJV is pretty good about translating each a different way; then Greek NT adds a few more words). If each one occurs between 1 and 160 times, let's say, that's 160 boxes we could put each word into, the box being chosen by how often it occurs (we'll skip "the" and "a", just as Strong's does). On average, 50 words would go in each box. Most boxes would get far less; the "one time only" box would get far more, but 50 is a good average. So why should we be impressed that you found 60 or so in box 7, and 20 or so in box 49?

And when we get to phrases of any given size, a new phrase starts with each word in the whole Bible. I don't have a count, but mine has 1100 or so pages at 800 or so words a page; that's 880000 three word strings to count. Of course, some of them are going to occur 20 times or more, and I bet those will be exactly the ones that talk about God the most.

All this proves is that you were inspired to count 7's. It proves nothing about the text.

The KJV Preface (which is strangely enough not included in today's printings) mentions that the KJV is an Authorised English version, but only because King James authorised it. This didn't mean that the KJV was a Divinely Authorised version. God's Word is God-breathed, but only the original texts (Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic) are perfect in every way. Translations by their very nature are imperfect but the Message spoken throughout the various Bible translations is perfect and unchanged.

It's not that hard to understand. As long as you know the difference between thee and thou......understand the est suffixes (like sayest)....I don't see a problem with anyone understanding it.......except for old words that aren't in common use today (like leaven) but that's going to be an issue in any translation and it's not that hard to look it up.

So -- let me see if I understand this correctly...

By definition - just because it is a translation - any and every version is equally imperfect. Yet - at the same time - each and every version equally contains the perfect impossible-to-be-corrupted-while-translating "message" - so that any version is just as good as any other version - because they all have exactly the same "message"...?

How did this happen?:

is it time to say good bye to the KJV? It has served us well for 400 years. It will eventually be unreadable, as it is to most of the world now.
Amos 8:[SUP]11 [/SUP]Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: [SUP]12 [/SUP]And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

I would have to say that because of all the errant modern Bibles today, the truth will be hard to find in the King James Bible because the errant modern Bibles will cast doubt to the readers, wondering did God really say that in the King James Bible?

And so your quote is verifying the fulfillment of this prophesy in Amos 8:11-12.

But if you value continuing in His words to be His disciple, then prove all things by the King James Bible to discern good and evil of all the false teachings that has crept intro christianity. It is by those small leavening changes in the errant modern Bibles, that these false teachings are not only supported, but remain undiscerned and thus unreproved. Modern Bibles makes believers gloss over the meat in the KJV and thus doubting the truth in His words and are unable to keep the faith in these apostate churches today. Keeping the faith is the good fight, but now, there is hardly any way to defend the truth in the KJV.

Keep the KJV,the problem is that less and less people understand 17th century english,so ya it will be used less. I read from the NASB alot switch back and forth from other translations.
