I doubt that the summer fruit is related to the fig tree K16, it most probably relates to the scattering of the ten tribes by the Assyrians
If that’s the case was God done with Israel when the ten tribes were scattered? Did the end come upon Israel forever at that time?

That part about satan interfering with God's plan for saving the world makes sense. Otherwise, why would he have worked so hard to get Jesus to follow him?

i don't think it's 'willy nilly' that if you're looking for how Israel relates to this saying:

Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near."
(Luke 21:29-30)
that the fig tree is symbolic of her. He'd just been speaking about Jerusalem in v. 20 -- and throughout scripture, you have the nation of Israel & 'all other nations' -- so why would i think anything other than Israel vs all other nations when i hear Him say the fig tree & all other trees? what else could it be?
No fig newton for you Skele

Well, it's a bit more complex K16, yeah he was done with the 10 tribes yet the promise was the re-marry them as in Hosea. Christ himself said he came for the lost sheep of Israel.

Your whole premise is totally illogical Skele - as I said the prophecy of the destruction of Jerusalem was as certain as trees budding before summer. That is why he used the trees as an example/parable There is no connection between the trees/fig tree and the nation itself other than in prediction of the destruction.
So why does He say "fig tree"?

Amo 8:9 (KJV) And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Mat 27:45 (KJV) Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Do you see the correlation between the two verses? The sixth hour is noon. Mat 27 is fulfillment of Amos 8. This was the end of the people of Israel as far as them being used by God for kingdom purposes.

I don't see a correlation between them K16, the physical nation went poof in the war of 66-70 AD never to be God's special people.

It needd to be understood that Jesus' and the apostles ministry was to gather the scattered tribes "the promise of Hosea"

(Acts 26:6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers)

(Acts 26:7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews)

Both Peter and James write to the scattered (diaspora):

(James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting)

(1 Pet 1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia)

In letter his letter he quotes Hosea:

(1 Pet 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy)

(Hosea 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.)

The end of Israel
Doesn’t mean that God will never save another Jew, it just means that God is done with Israel as a people, the kingdom
was taken from them and given to another nation to bring forth the fruits.

In other words Israel being a nation today has nothing to do with God or prophecy, he was done with that nation 2000 years ago.

I agree K16, I just don't accept that the nations end was at the cross.

So why does He say "fig tree"?
Answer me this - if the parable is about the nation as the fig tree "putting forth leaves" what is significant about that in regards to the nation?

Why does the bible use figs multiple times 40 or so? Why does he use "sheep" "goats".
for 100% absolutely divinely perfect reasons

eternal life is to know Him. i think He intends for us to try to figure it out - i mean, what is the instinctive reaction to someone you are in love with? you hang on every word they say, rolling them all over in your mind, trying to sort out the wonder of them, forever, right?

in Matthew 24, He tells them something about Israel. the disciples ask Him three questions:
  1. when will these things be?
  2. what is the sign of His coming?
  3. what is the sign of the end of the age?
He answers the last first, the first next, and the second last. all three concern Israel. false Christs will appear - false Messiahs of the God of Israel. His children will be hated for His sake - for the sake of the God of Israel. all nations will gather against Israel. the abomination of desolation spoken of by an Israeli prophet in terms of the religion of Israel will appear in the holy place of Israel. Israel will see & understand the sign of Lot's wife. the tribulation - a.k.a. "Jacob's trouble" ((Jeremiah 30:7)) will take place: Jacob, a.k.a. Israel ((Genesis 35:10)). immediately the Son of Man will appear - the One whom they have pierced, the LORD God of Israel ((Zechariah 12:10)) - coming in the clouds with glory.

He tells them all this and says look, a parable, when you see the fig tree, and all the other trees, putting forth buds, you know the season is nigh.

how do you expect to interpret this as having nothing whatsoever to do with Israel? it's the Messiah, the God of Israel, who is standing in the temple of Israel in the city of Israel in the nation Israel, telling 12 Israeli apostles about the final fate and redemption of Israel.

when all nations are gathered around Israel you will know the fig tree, in the midst of all the other trees, is about to bear fruit.

You've established my point that the trees all indicate the coming of the signs that were to come upon THAT generation in the destruction of the temple and the city.

"when all nations are gathered around Israel.... is about to bear fruit"

What fruit did Israel bear?

That does not establish that Israel is the fig tree in the parable. Name me one old testament verse that calls of likens them to the fig tree (other than fiddling around with fig leaves on Adam and Eve.

The central point of that verse is summer. During the spring the trees bud then summer comes and the trees put on new growth.

Jesus is telling them and us to figure out what summer means in the Bible because when summer comes those prophecies will be fulfilled.

The fig tree was cursed and made barren for ever so Israel becoming a nation in 1948 has nothing to do with summer nor the parable of the fig tree.

What fruit did Israel bear?
well you're wrong about the things in Matthew 24 having already taken place. see for example Zechariah 14:12. did not happen to Rome in 70 AD. so the question 'what fruit did Israel bear' is nonsense, IMO, being predicated on misunderstanding. Christ did not return in 70 AD. Matthew 24 is not fulfilled yet.

but at the end, they will bear the fruit of repentance. they will mourn with a spirit of grace and supplication, see Zechariah 12:10-14
