Do you know these people? Are you one of these people?

The sherman tank- will run over you if you let them
The megaphone- will talk your ear off
The volcano-has a temper like Mt. st Helens
The cry baby-is a chronic complainer
The nit picker-is the unpleasable perfectionist
The space cadet- is on a different wavelength

How to deal with such people
Realize we cant please everyone ,Even God cant do that ,one person wants rain another sunshine.
Refuse to play their game, if correction is needed towards some say it with love otherwise ,otherwise be swift to hear ,slow to speak ,slow to wrath.Sometimes we just cant get thru to a person , shake the dust off your feet and move on.
Never retaliate Matthew 5:38&39
Pray for them matthew 5:44 It will help both of you. Let God handle them.

Verse for the day..... If it be possible ,as much as lieth within you live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18

Let's never say anything that might offend, God forbid we cause them to stumble and have to think a little bit and maybe cry out to God because of conviction. Let's not preach anything in the pulpit that might get people to take up their cross and deny themselves and get their flesh crucified in the process. That might hurt a lttle and we don't want don't want to upset people. Whatever happened to, 'faithful are the wounds of a friend' (Prov 27:6). When do we apply (Prov 27:5), 'Open rebuke is better than secret love'? ) and 'exhort one another daily' (Heb 3:13).Or is that something we let God do? Did you know that Jesus Christ turned more people away with His preaching than He did drawing them, because they all forsook Him and crucified Him. He makes one statement, 'unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you can not follow me' and many of the disciples went back and followed him no more (John 6:53-66). He came unto His own and they received Him NOT ! Some here would call that deception and say that it wasn't sin on their part, they just did not know what they were doing. You tell that to Christ on behalf of those that appear before Jesus Christ as the judge saying, 'LORD, LORD we did all'......... 'depart from me I never knew you'. I suppose they were not in deception. I suppose that the LORD was wrong when He told Isaiah to cry aloud and spare not in (Is 58:1). I don't know what some of you have been taught but I think that you have learned pretty much on your own and have never put youself under a pastor-teacher that God has raised up for the church.

You and others don't like what I say because it doesn't pass your litmus test. This is nothing new. You would have felt the same way with Christ when He and the disciples plucked corn on the Sabbath. So many believers want God to fit into their box that does not include the whole counsel of scripture. No one but no one is going to tell me any different. Come hell or high water, I'm staying right where I am. If I want to keep my rock music, that is exactly what I'm going to do. If I want sex before marriage, I'm going to have it. If I don't want to go to church, I'm not going and no one is going to tell me otherwise. God forbid that Jesus comes walking by and says follow me. But I can't go where you are going because I have a family to take care of, relatives that are getting old and I will have to bury, I have a good job here and it is secure and you can't expect me to just abandon all this. How did the (12) disciples do it? They may have done it but that's just not for me. Discipleship is like a menu to some, they open it up and see what they want and say, 'I'll take that please'. Nothing else appeals to them. If that is what you want, God will probably give it to you because He loves you, but that is not discipleship.

God bless you too,
BLC

carpetmanswife, I definitely needed to be reminded to be swift to hear and slow to speak today, because I've already messed that one up. It's so easy to act first and pray later or at least it seems to be my stumbling block.

dont even get me started about how loud and sinful those red shoes are... hee hee... Love you CMW
BLC... I think you need to get more sleep. You make very good points... you should just have a little sleep before you go off on people on here... take some time to rest in the Lord just you yourself and the Lord... how wonderful it is that you are obviously so learned and defend your biblical authority to righteously rebuke others. Just dont forget to take the word and look inward as well, dont just throw it at other people, ok. And i'll end my little paragraph the way you do yours... God Bless... sometimes i read those words as you end a rant of righteous judgement and truly wonder... Does he really mean to give those people blessings or not, cause after the words in the paragraph, saying God Bless kinda falls flat. I look forward to your response.

Imoss,

It was said exactly how it was meant. If I did not mean it, it would not have been said. I am the least of anyone here and have nothing to loose, no reputation, no personality rapport, no social graces, no mutual admiration and no bones to pick. I don't claim to love anyone or even be their friend, not that I don't love nor would be a friend in word or deed. The peace that we have of God is not living peaceable with all men, but if you can, that is a good and mature person. Jesus said he came not to bring peace but a sword. A sword cuts, the word cuts and we are to take up the sword of the Spirit. It's nice to chit-chat and that has its place but if we are to follow Christ that means discipleship. Discipleship is not how long we have been a Christian, discipleship is how far have we taken up our cross. It is not how much God loves us, it is how much we love Him and do the will of the Father.

We fail much but Christ is able to stand. We stand in grace that teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust … We do what grace teaches us by taking up a cross. Our testimony is not only the great things that God has done but that we may know Him and the power of His resurrection. Those that mock and express sarcasm subtly through their personality and think it to be cute are being rude to the Holy Spirit who lives in every vessel that He has redeemed and consecrated through sanctification for Himself. If I get out of joint or out of the place that God has fit me, then I need to be put back in place. Then I will be able to experience the fullness of God. We are called to be disciples and not just Christians. Our call goes into the deep calling unto the deep. Some believers like to just get their feet wet and won't go any deeper. Others go up to the ankle, the knee, the waste and up to the neck and say that's enough. But the kind of disciple that Christ has called must be completely submerged so that there is nothing left of the old man Adam. Complete death to Adam so that there is nothing left but the resurrected Christ. In Adam all die but in Christ all are made alive. Just a few thoughts, what do you think?
