For the most part I think you have a love for Gods word, and want the best for ppl, however its expressed at times. Keep in mind how its expressed is between you and God alone, as Im in NO position to try and tell you where you stand on that matter. I say that because all I have to go on are a few posts in a chatroom, I agree, the word cuts and sometimes ,God has to get our attention . I have no problem whatsoever with God correcting me as he sees fit, or even using a brother or sister in Christ to get the message across, and I dont think a true child of God would have a problem with that either, WHEN ITS FROM GOD. I say this because if I were to see you on the street, i wouldnt have a clue, I dont know if you live your life as you say you do, I dont know if you truley have a desire to help ppl ( all I have is your word in these forums), and while sometimes bluntness is required, so is MEEKNESS, HUMILITY, and just plain ole LOVE. You can think whatever you like about me as a person , but I can say more often than not in my walk with God, and my reaching out to ppl, and even tellin them things that dont tickle their ears , God has always shown me to go in LOVE. As I said, think what you will, the only person I have to please at the end of the day is God, correction is fine when its called for, but unless your sinless ( and I havent met one person yet who is) or unless your willing to step in and change the situation, alot of folks are gonna feel hurt when you just go around pickin out flaws. This chat isnt a popularity contest, however, is it about friendships, its about seriousness, its about laughing, lifting people up, study and fellowship, Im sorry if I have ever offended you BLC, but as you say Im also the least, I often dont have finess, but I do know God wants us to lift each other up, and help one another, and love our brother as ourselves.

How to deal with such people
Realize we cant please everyone ,Even God cant do that ,one person wants rain another sunshine.
Refuse to play their game, if correction is needed towards some say it with love otherwise ,otherwise be swift to hear ,slow to speak ,slow to wrath.Sometimes we just cant get thru to a person , shake the dust off your feet and move on.
Never retaliate Matthew 5:38&39
Pray for them matthew 5:44 It will help both of you. Let God handle them.

Verse for the day..... If it be possible ,as much as lieth within you live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18
I suppose because I'm stuck in the Torah - and, quite honestly, find anger and justice much more appealing than mercy and grace- this post just doesn't work for me 100%.

I'm all for a little James 1:19. Good verse, no doubt, but that does not mean we have to be push-overs. Righteous anger is permissible, and is illustrated through out the Bible. Rebuking a person, admonishing them, discipline, etc; all good things. (granted, I would not suggest rebuking a person unless you really really know it is God telling you to do so)

I know one person where shaking the dust off my feet and moving on is a good idea, but I know many others where a good whack to the head (figuratively) would work better. Sometimes speaking with tenderness and compassion works. Other times it really doesn't.

I agree, righteuos anger is acceptable, and bein a push over isnt always the best case, and I have shaken alot of dust in my 37 years, different things work for different people, or should I say approaches, where one a good whack might do it, the other, you reel them in with love, and TEACH them, all ppl are different And you never said more true words about rebuking , YOU BETTER KNOW ITS GOD AMEN, otherwise you may have some blood on your hands, and feel free to correct me if you think Im wrong.

i certainly agree there is a righteous anger no doubt, and im not sayin this is how to deal with every situation in every case..just some thoughts to ponder is all.and im CERTAINLY not endorsing bein a pushover, just suggesting let us be very careful to choose our words wisely and when we say ' we are God led' ..know u r dont just think it.:)and the whack over the head thing..im all with ya on that one , God just wont let me ! lol

Imoss,

It was said exactly how it was meant. If I did not mean it, it would not have been said. I am the least of anyone here and have nothing to loose, no reputation, no personality rapport, no social graces, no mutual admiration and no bones to pick. I don't claim to love anyone or even be their friend, not that I don't love nor would be a friend in word or deed. The peace that we have of God is not living peaceable with all men, but if you can, that is a good and mature person. Jesus said he came not to bring peace but a sword. A sword cuts, the word cuts and we are to take up the sword of the Spirit. It's nice to chit-chat and that has its place but if we are to follow Christ that means discipleship. Discipleship is not how long we have been a Christian, discipleship is how far have we taken up our cross. It is not how much God loves us, it is how much we love Him and do the will of the Father.

We fail much but Christ is able to stand. We stand in grace that teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust … We do what grace teaches us by taking up a cross. Our testimony is not only the great things that God has done but that we may know Him and the power of His resurrection. Those that mock and express sarcasm subtly through their personality and think it to be cute are being rude to the Holy Spirit who lives in every vessel that He has redeemed and consecrated through sanctification for Himself. If I get out of joint or out of the place that God has fit me, then I need to be put back in place. Then I will be able to experience the fullness of God. We are called to be disciples and not just Christians. Our call goes into the deep calling unto the deep. Some believers like to just get their feet wet and won't go any deeper. Others go up to the ankle, the knee, the waste and up to the neck and say that's enough. But the kind of disciple that Christ has called must be completely submerged so that there is nothing left of the old man Adam. Complete death to Adam so that there is nothing left but the resurrected Christ. In Adam all die but in Christ all are made alive. Just a few thoughts, what do you think?
i think you need to lighten up and get more sleep.

If you think that this is needed then talk to me about discipleship. Talk to me about the cross and practical sanctification and the faith that we build ourselves with. If we can't take about these things that have to do with our walk with God and what Jesus Christ desires for us in following Him, then what is our life going to be likened to? If God asked you to give up certain rock music because it was occupying a place in your soul that He wanted to occupy, would you give it up? Would you let the cross crucify you in that area of your life. If you refused, He would still love and not condemn you but He would not occupy and reign in that area of your life. Do we want Him to be our 'all in all' or just in some things.

Awww... this would indicate that you actually know something about me and my walk with the Lord. Well I thank you for your concern.

imoss,

You could have been honest and simply said that you did not want to talk about those things and that would have been fine. I have enormous respect for you.
