Boring. Old covenant mindset, new covenant.

Until people honestly admit walking with God was possible before Christ they will not understand the shift. The form of the walk was wrapped up in Israel and the law, and in the new covenant the same ideas are wrapped up in Christ. Jesus was the cornerstone, the finishing of the message to mankind. Now if a message is finished it is not rejected and ignored, or condemned as evil.

And sin is still very much a problem or else the hyper-grace group would not be so dedicated to condemn non-hyper-grace people.

If people walked in love, righteousness and purity, their way is the way. What is obvious is sin is always close-by, something we can stumble into, but if love has set us free, why would we?

The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.
Deut 30:6

All the ideas of love from your heart, following the Lord with sincerity and truth, in humbleness, in repentance are all part of the law and the prophets. Jesus fulfilled this, did not do away with it. So as in those days, sin needs to be repented of, faced, confessed, restitution made, and doing good things from your heart is key to walking in the love of God.

The truth is those who oppose this do so because they cannot walk in love, which is the problem they should be dealing with and not attacking followers of Jesus as if they are hypocritical liars who are refusing to accept the power of the cross, because this is the power of the cross, love that transforms us from the inside out.

Since you no longer have a "body of flesh" you no longer sin. I'm glad to hear you say that you stopped sinning. That is important.

The first bold: "The importance of finding out what Christ has already done for us in His finished work is of "higher importance than" walking by the spirit within us.
Whatever are you trying to say here?????

The orange: I have no clue what you are talking about here either......

The last bold: Do you forget the Christ is in you? Do you forget that He being in you is true? Do you have truth in you because you are in Christ but forget it?
Seriously, if you would endeavor to communicate, try to make people understand what you mean, rather than trying to make yourself sound like a self righteous biblical scholar of some sort, it would make things easier.
Well Phil......you are twisting my words again..I did not say that knowing what Christ has done for us is
"higher importance" then walking in the Spirit. I said knowing what Christ has already done for us is paramount to understanding how to walk in the spirit. Another way of saying it would be...grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

What I wrote is plain to understand....find out what Christ has done for us and that we are called sons/children of God now....what does all this mean?....just mediate on it and I believe you will see what is being said....but if not..it's ok..Bless you phil...:)

It is sad when a simple issue comes up like sin, it is not tackled properly, but descends into sin is irrelevant.

Do you read any part of scripture where sin is regarded as irrelevant? No.

The theme is always, sin of the past can be forgiven, then sin no more. If you discover sin, repent of it, get yourself right and then walk on.

Heaven is bounded by a wall that says only the sinless can enter. We are made sinless through Christs blood and following Him. If you continue to sin you are not following him.

What is it about sin that ISN'T on his mind?

I'm KIDDING! LOL That was just a joke to see if anybody was awake! :p
Was it really? Not from where I sit reading posts left here. Many people seem to have a very genuine attraction to the topic.

This is where the arguments come in. and why people hate talking about sin.

And why people fight it so much.

He says if we still sin, we are not following God. yet if he is asked if he is perfect. he will say no. Meaning he still sins. So is he not following God because he sins?

Sin is forgiven at the cross. Period. Anything else is works..

Yes we need help; and need to actively participate with Gods help to grow. But that has absolutely nothing to do with eternal life. Which is a free gift given to those who have faith in him.

Yeah, I think it was Jesus who started that.

We've talked about it. You have been told countless times how to avoid it, how scripture tells you to live, and you have made your choice. You choose to ignore scripture and continue to sin. You continue to find an excuse to walk in the flesh and pretend you're saved, altho you sin daily. Someone that sins daily and/or knows and believes they will sin again is not saved. You are walking in the flesh and if you walk in the flesh you can't please God.
Tell me, right here, if you believe that people that don't please God will go to heaven.

wow. Talk about attack. And I did not even direct my comment to you. You have issues phil, You seriously need help.

Tell me, are you perfect?

If your answer is no. Your whole attack against me was useless. Because you condemned yourself.

If people want to talk about sin, I am open to it, Paul spoke of it often as did many others.

But if all you want to do is attack. Then take it someplace else.

How do we overcome? John gives us the answer:

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 Jn 4:4)

Overcoming is not about jumping through hoops and satisfying the expectations of men.

It’s about depending on The Overcomer who lives in you.For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 Jn 5:4-5)

Are you born of God? Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God? If yes, then the Overcomer lives in you and you can’t help but be an overcomer. Look to Jesus as He is the Author and Finisher of faith.

That’s why Jesus told the disciples to be encouraged during times of tribulation; because he – not they – had overcome the world and because they would carry his overcoming Spirit within them.

1 John 4:4
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

1 John 5:5
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Brethren..remember these truths below and just let them falsely accuse of whatever they want..it's ok..the One who saved us is the same One who justifies us!..

1 Peter 4:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.

1 Peter 2:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;

Romans 16:17 (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Hey guys I was wanting to see about having a Bible discussion/Study. I do not have an exact topic in mind but if you have an idea lets get discussing!

Be blessed!
So, I gave up hoping for a Bible study on page 3. (Fortunately, I've been around long enough not to expect one either.) Have you discovered yet why there aren't any on here?

Somewhere on this site are groups where like minded people can talk about any given subject without this constant need to wander off point. I have no idea where that is now, but I thought you'd might prefer that kind of atmosphere vs. what you've been getting here.

I hope you find what you're looking for. It really is a good idea, but then that happens.

Romans 13:14
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Galatians 5:16

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Rom 8: 5-11

[SUP]5 [/SUP]For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. [SUP]6 [/SUP]For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. [SUP]8 [/SUP]So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. [SUP]9 [/SUP]But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. [SUP]10 [/SUP]And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [SUP]11 [/SUP]But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Amen....having done all...stand therefore..

Romans 14:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

[SUP]1 [/SUP] Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

1 Thessalonians 3:8 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] for now we really live, ifyou stand firm in the Lord.

Sin destroys,

David saw bathsheba, Lusted, and used his power to get her to sleep with him. Look at the ramifications of just one sin, which affected the whole nation of Israel.

Sin affects everyone around us, Not just us, We need to not ignore it, and find victory over it, for it will bless us all and all those around us.
