That would be an interesting study- what the plagues were related to.
Yes indeed....I also find it interesting that as the plagues progressed the pointed application at things they worshiped also progressed....

Like the NILE....they worshiped it.....turned to blood
Like the SUN....they worshiped it......darkened

etc.......a very good study and points often not made when being taught.

IMO to feel darkness means to feel a heavy weight of oppression. So not only are you in the literal darkness, but you feel doom and dread...without joy or hope.
Interesting point and possible I suppose......note the word used and it's meaning in Hebrew....

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even a darkness which may be felt."

mashash: to feel, grope
Original Word: מָשַׁשׁ
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: mashash
Phonetic Spelling: (maw-shash')
Short Definition: grope

Utter darkness....NO LIGHT SOURCE like torches or fires that allowed one to see to the extent they had to feel or grope their way around....imagine no light source being able to produce light.....scary.....

Perhaps God chose those plagues to prove that the gods the Egyptians worshipped had no power.
Rah...god of the sun...plague of darkness
Nephtyhs...goddess of the river...plague turning water into blood
Etc. Etc.

Interestingly.......

In Egyptian mythology,

Kek (also Kuk) is the deification of the concept of primordial darkness in the Ancient Egyptian Ogdoad cosmogony of Hermopolis.

The Ogdoad consisted of four pairs of deities, four male gods paired with their female counterparts. Kek's female counterpart was Kauket. Kek and Kauket in some aspects also represent night and day, and were called "raiser up of the light" and the "raiser up of the night", respectively.

The name is written as kk or kkwy with a variant of the sky hieroglyph in ligature with the staff associated with the word for "darkness"

Egyptian frog goddess Heket

I know.......well.....the serpent spoke unto EVE as well.....and it is a proven truth that birds can learn to use human language.....I dare to say that Adam had the ability as well.....it is highly probable that all of creation at one time could communicate....even now science is learning that everything has language or a way to communicate....Deer have over 200 vocalizations, a microphone in a bucket of minnows has revealed high frequency communication, whales sing songs, dolphins and killer whales communicate to hunt in packs etc........
And we know many animals not only read human body language and facial expressions but use them too...

That's just superb...He was toppling their gods with very specific plagues!

Let me tell you one thing I have learned through 30 years of intensive study....GOD misses NOTHING......I see things all the time in the word and I think to myself....Humanity or man would have missed that......He alone is God and can be compared to NO ONE or ANYTHING.......
