That cannot be correct. Peter simply had faith that he would get the coin. The coin was a act of grace. Actually catching the fish would have been an attempt to earn the coin. Everyone knows this.
Well, it is correct as it is stated in scripture. Are you saying that paying the tax was an act of grace? There was no attempt to earn the coin, it was a matter of fact that there would be a coin in the mouth of the fish that was caught. There was no act of faith on Peter's part either as he was simply obeying the Lord. Everyone knows this.

Very interesting, dc! Ya know, that 7th trump starts the 7 bowls.........................maybe those 7 bowls are representative of the 7 thunders? idk..........just pondering.......:)
The interesting thing about the 7 thunders was that John was told not to write what they said down. Yet, this will one day be revealed. The same goes for what Jesus wrote on the ground with His finger as it was not stated what exactly was written while the crowd was ready to stone the woman caught in adultery. Until what was said by the 7 thunders and what was written by Jesus is revealed the complete Word of God remains a mystery. This information could change the whole dynamic of scripture but certainly not in a way that it was inspired to be written but rather in how it is to be understood. Of course, this is just simply my opinion on the matter. Very interesting indeed.

Baseball was from the very first - and it must have been my favorite team the Cleveland Indians up to bat first because
it was "In the big inning . . ." Gen. 1:1
Yep! That's the one!

Not sure of the reference - but I think it was Joseph who served in Pharoah's court!

Hi dc and tourist,

I've often pondered about Jesus writing with His finger in the dirt, too. Of course, like you said, we really don't know now, but my guess would be that Jesus wrote the 10 commandments in the dirt because the only other time God wrote with His finger was the 10 commandments on the tablets of stone. After writing, Jesus told the men "The one among you without sin, cast the first stone." No one could - they all had sin.

Just wanted to share my guess with you both! :)
