I would tell our German Shepherd-collie to lie down so I could rub his stomach for him. I knew he loved to have his stomach rubbed, but you could see in his eyes it hurt him deeply to be ordered around. So in the end I stopped telling him to lie down, even though I wanted to rub his stomach.

One of our little dogs would lie on my bed. I would have to move her a few inches to make room for myself. It seemed to annoy her.

I have 8 dogs. 3 LAbs, one Golden retriever, a Queensland Healer,a Cairn Blue terrier, a Australian Shepherd and a Maltese mix. They are all individuals with their own characteristics. I love them all but they can all be royal pains. I live in the desert so I have a lot of dust which they contribute to. I have collected enough hair to make another dog. They can be demanding and annoying and when you scold them they get that "Who me!" look on their faces. I can see how God might feel towards us when He tries to give us indtruction and we get that "Who me!" look on our faces. God must spend a lot of time laughing on our behalf.

Mine prefers rocks. She doesn't catch them she just carries them around and buries them.

Well...my dog IS irresistably cute, so I can see how they pick up some of our traits ;) I was never one for licking rocks...wait, I take that back...in a geology course I took they taught us to taste for different metals in rocks...I guess she IS a lot like me.

That is it! I am sending over Caesar Milian immediately - this sounds like a pack leader emergency!

My shepherd used to run around the yard with his favorite cat in his mouth for awhile before putting her down sopping wet with slobber...the cat loved this strange game!..they had a very unique relationship.
