When Daniel had the dream there were two other kingdoms before Babylon that makes making seven.
John said And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, [and] the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
But we know they are the kings of the North. North of Jerusalem. They did not use north west, north east etc in those days, but they are North of Jerusalem (Europe) and there will be 10 leaders who will unite as one strong mighty powerful beast (empire) with one army, one currency, one law, one religion....one leader who will soon after gain control of the whole world. He is the false prophet and this is where he emerges from (Europe)

Daniel 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom [are] ten kings [that] shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

The Assyrian Empire was a World Power and it had a king when it fell
Babylon was a World Power and it had a king when it fell
Medo-persia was a World Power and it had a king when it fell
Greece was a World Power and it had a king when it fell
Roman was a World Power and it had a king when it fell

Matt4;8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

How do you know that Egypt and Assyria are the first two heads? If we put all the 7 headed beasts in Revelation together then Babylon would be the first.
Look at the image, Babylonian is the third kingdom.
When Daniel had the dream he was the third kingdom, the third world power that rose to rule the world, Egypt was the first power to rise and rule the world then God destroyed it. Then in its place the Assyrian Empire rose to rule the world. That makes Babylonian the third.
