Daniel 7:25 and Revelation 13:5-7 describe the beasts mouth (aka the Antichrist) speaking great things and wearing out and overcoming the saints.

Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Thanks for that. God's word rings true. But what does it mean to wear them out? In their thinking? How will they be given into his hand seeing when Christ does come we are asked "will he find faith"? Will there be no faith available? as in the last person to receive it, is the last name written in the lambs book of eternal has been given the final work of God's faith and the end comes?

Is it the period we are in today?

I do suspect that the mark and number of the beast will be an actual mark of some kind, as you will not be able to buy or sell without it.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say in regards to the truth of the gospel. What I do know is that the faithful in Christ and His gospel will be doing exploits during the reign of the beast, while at the same time they will be killed by various means according to Daniel 11:32-33).

Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
Again, why a literal mark as a outward sign? Jesus says its an evil generation natural man that does seek after one and no sign save the sign of Jonas which has been fulfilled . We walk by faith the unseen eternal .Why look for a sign?

We are to buy the wisdom of the gospel and not sell it.... not seeing any advantage in keeping it marks natural man, a fool... no God in his heart.

Why base the gospel on the foundation of the things seen like technology advancement? Is technology the new god of this world as a conferrer of faith. And we better not follow after it?

Do you think John who wrote the words for it is the number of a man did not have a understanding of the word mark and how it is used. The number of what kind of a man?

Why not the mark of Cain as the foundation for the doctrine of 666?

jesus in the Psalms said if they destroy the foundation of doctrines what could those who are declared righteous as imputed do ? How would they ever find the spiritual unseen understanding?

The reason I believe it is an outward visible sign is due to some of the criteria about the beasts mouth, aka the little horn, aka the Antichrist.
The beasts mouth, aka the little horn, aka the Antichrist is constantly magnifying himself (Daniel 8:11; 8:25; 11:37), even seeing himself as being god/love (2 Thessalonians 2:4), as he will be the peoples love who will adore him and his system-Revelation 13:8). This means the beasts mouth/the little horn/the Antichrist is a narcissist with a massive ego and will therefore want to see his name or number on everyone's hand or forehead.

Daniel 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was cast down.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.

2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

There exist today nightclubs where the patrons may opt for a chip implant to register their credit at the club and they may swipe the chipimplant to "charge" or debit the client when purchasing their services...….

If something like this is already in use just think what the future may hold for the future consumer!

Yes a massive ego . I will be like God as one who works in the affairs of men seen as called the "things of men"

Hand or forehead speaks of the will. The hand working out the will in a negative way . It could be compared to God working in us to both will and do His good pleasure..... in a positive way .

The antichrists that are here and were when 1 John 2:26-27 was wriiten are those who seduce the true believers requiring them to seek after a teacher as man seen the temporal .Called the things of men. And therefore not the things not seen the "things of God"

No need for a literal mark but rather the mark of Cain a restless (no sabbath ) wanderer .

We are given an example of the working of the antichrists (plural) using Peter as one under the influence of the antichrist (singular) Satan in Mathew 16.

Peter because his blasphemy was against the Son of Man seen and not the Holy Spirit not seen was forgiven . Today we would not reckon Peter as forgiven. (the grandfather clause) No forgiveness against Him not seen as the things of men

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.Mathew 16:22-23

Satan the antichrist would take away the difference between the things of men the temporal seen and those of God the eternal not seen .Studying the difference can be helpful in not blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

The Deuteronomy 4:2 passage is in repsect to one word do not demish from it singular. It can change the commandments (plural) .Change the meaning of one word like the word apostle change the intent of the gospel .Deuteronomy 4:2 protects the integrity of one word. The Revelation passage in the end of the book of prophecy protects the integrity of the whole book or perfect law of God.
I don't think John would have been so arrogant as to think he need make such an edict concerning the Hebrew bible that existed long before he did. As a Jew he knew that it would be left alone as it had been for generations.
His command concerning leaving this book alone I believe pertained to his book of revelation that God communicated to him. This book was the book he wrote under inspiration from God.

I think it was last year employees of a large company made news voluntarily accepting a chip implant offered by the business.
Lo-jacked employees. What fun.

Its not Johns edict. He knew it was not a literal mark that came by the increase in technology. The god of this world.

And it was not left alone. The oral traditions of men tried to add to it in many ways. One to add new meaning to a word singular .(the Deuteronomy warning)

If it pertains to a chapter or what we call a book then the second warning (Revelation 22) applies to everything God has said from genesis through .We can not apply the plagues written in the book unless we search out the whole book. Searching a chapter is not the same as searching the whole or perfect.

Now that we have His whole will .Why go above that which is written? What the hope in that? Is there something missing?

I the book to be a stylized recap of the Biblical history, beyond that its not much use.
So, your saying God, the God who created the heaven, earth, universe, you and me wrote a book that has little use. He wasted His time to inspire a Book of the Bible just so we could sit back and evaluate, approve or disapprove of His work? May I ask, what makes you qualified to make such a statement?

2 Tim 3:16-17 1599 Geneva Bible
16 [a]For the whole Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and isprofitable to teach, to convince, to correct, and to instruct in righteousness,

17 That the [b]man of God may be absolute, being made perfect unto all good works.

Basically, your calling God a liar? Right?

It’s not of little use if it helps you understand what was written before.
The a Holy Spirit!
