Paul taught Christ as the sole means of salvation and forgiveness of sin, by His grace through faith.

but he still baptized people.

1 Corinthians 1:14-18
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
@Ouch ((apologies, this will hurt a little)) - - notice how he says he was sent by The LORD Jesus to preach the gospel, not to baptize.
this signifies that "
the gospel" is not baptism.

perhaps you should examine whether you are preaching the gospel or whether you have in fact devoted yourself to something entirely different.
Yep I did, HIS word says what it says.

Just like JESUS didn't baptized his team did.

Did you notice he did? Why would he do that?

NO. Why would you even ask that question?

Did you know know he was sin free?
That is my point, after the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, so are we. The water is used to identify us as one of His, and to proclaim to our community and the world that we have been raised from death to life.

John the Baptist says, “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I… He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire”

So your saying that after this happens to us,

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Then the message they gave next has no importance?

Acts 2:38-39
King James Version
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

One of the best examples of Salvation I think is the passage in Exodus where the Israelites are instructed to put blood on the doorposts:

The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt. (Exodus 12:13)

The only criteria for salvation was the presence or absence of the blood on the door post. Nothing else counted.

The only criteria for our Salvation is the blood of Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less.

God Bless All :)

JESUS didn't baptized
not with water...

and there is only one faith, one baptism ((Ephesians 4:5))

the thread topic is security of salvation:
is the baptism with which Christ baptizes His sons and daughters, effective?
((Ephesians 1:13, Matthew 3:11))

or is it like the blood of bulls and goats ((Hebrews 10:4)) - unable to truly save?
((1 Corinthians 5:7))

and you feel you are sent to preach baptism instead of Christ, to people who are already baptized?

i am not so sure you weren't drawn here to be corrected rather than to correct others, to say 'ouch' yourself rather than to cause others pain.

you say you had faith as a child and were baptized at an early age, then some 35 years or more later, a man convinced you that your existing faith and baptism were worthless - - and sent you on your current campaign to hold water above the effective work of God.

if, as you say, your first baptism was worthless - what prevents you from later deciding your second was also worthless?

1 Corinthians 13:8
whether there are tongues, they will cease
Matthew 12:39
An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Isaiah 30:15
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
But you would not

how about the serpent in the wilderness, when all they had to do, whether near or far, was look towards it? ((Numbers 21))
:)

Christ says His salvation is exactly like it:

John 3:14-15
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
@Ouch BTW Jesus says this in the context of answering Nicodemus's question, "how can a man be reborn?" ((John 3:4,9))

Did you notice he did? Why would he do that?
the fact that i am the one who pointed out that Paul did in fact baptize people is a pretty good indication that i noticed Paul did in fact baptize people.

why would he take the Lords supper?
does eating bread and drinking wine give one eternal life?

we do these things because Christ told us we should do them - not because by them we have life. by Christ we have life, therefore we live.

It is best to consult the whole council of God. Everything in Scripture is true, but not everything applies to us today. We are told to “Study,” not simply take a verse and make it fit what we think.
