Mat 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
I believe this is the only time that Jesus mentions anything in the first century which is when the Roman Empire overthrows Jerusalem.
Although the Roman Empire was persecuting Christians is this overthrow because Rome was going against Christianity, or because the Jews revolted against Rome, which it was a revolt of Jews who rejected Christ, and went against Rome.
The disciples said look at these lovely buildings of the temple, and Jesus said they will be thrown down, so do not admire them for I am the temple, and that was it for the first century.
That is concerning the overthrow of Jerusalem, but did Jesus warn of persecuting of Christians in the first century, which He did warn them of persecution, but not mentioned here for the first century, but Jesus told them they would be persecuted but that would be all through Church history.
I believe in these scriptures Jesus does not address anything in the first century but verse 2, and then it moves to the end time, and it is speaking to the Jews in general at that time.
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
The disciples were asking the sign of Jesus' coming, and the end of the world, so it has to do with being past the first century, and Jesus did not come back in the first century and fight the world.
God said He is going to gather all nations together against Jerusalem, and the whole earth shall be gathered together against Jerusalem, and then God would fight against them, but even in the then known world it was not all nations, for only the Roman Empire went against them.
Why would Jesus be fighting back then for what did it change for the Roman Empire still kept going on, and Christianity was still persecuted, and even more so.
When Jesus fights the world He puts down the world and sin, and no more persecution against the saints.
Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
How can there be so much deception back then in the first century when Christianity was young, but today there can be much deception, and many people have claimed to be Christ, and the New Age Christ in the future who will say the Christ conscience came upon him, and he is the world teacher, and above Jesus.
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Daniel said he did not understand what was told him, but was told that they would understand in the end time, for many shall run to and fro, advanced travel, and knowledge shall be increased, advanced technology, which then the saints can see, hear, and know what is going on in the earth, and how it is possible for them to come together.
Which we know of wars that have happened like WW1, and WW2, and we know of pestilences, and natural disasters, and earthquakes, and all the problems that are going on in the earth.
Jesus said they would know of these things that are occurring on different places on earth.
But how can the disciples know that for they would be in the same position as Daniel, and they would not know what is going on in different places on earth.
If it was 2000 years ago what do you think you would know of what is going on in the earth, about as much as what you would know is when you go outside and look around, and a few things around you.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
How can the saints be hated of all nations in the first century, and even in the then known world they did not all persecute Christians in the first century, for how far could Christianity spread at that time.
Africa is known in the Bible, and the Middle East, and the Roman Empire, and others, and they were not all persecuting Christians.
Jesus said they would be hated of all nations, and even the nations of the then know world which is anything told in the Bible would not even know of Christianity.
And this hating of them means that all people are against them, but not all people even knew of Christianity back then.
But today the whole world can know of Christianity, and do know of Christianity.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
It would not seem like there would be so much deception back then.
And how can iniquity abound so much back then.
But today it can because of technology because it caused money, and material things to flow like a raging river, and worldliness, and fleshy pleasures a plenty as they pursued those things with their money, and it kicked up the selfishness, and arrogance of people to a level never before seen in the history of mankind.
Which because of their high selfishness, and arrogance, and enjoying money, and the pleasures that it brought, the love of many waxed cold, for they say you do not care about me, I do not care about you, and it got worse.
Which God told us of the last generation that they would devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy among men, which can only happen with advanced technology like now, for there is money flowing like Niagara Falls, and they can reach out farther, and reach out to more people to make money, and we see millions of dollars and billions of dollars is not enough for them.
And he that shall endure to the end shall be saved, but it was not the end back then.
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
And how can the Gospel be preached to all nations back then which all people would not know of the Gospel in the first century.
But today all nations know of the Gospel, like they know of Buddhism, and Hinduism, and Islam.
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Mat 24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Mat 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
Mat 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And that little bit of persecution in the first century could of not been the greatest persecution ever in the history of mankind, especially what is coming up.
It is the greatest persecution for this will be on a world wide scale when the New Age Christ makes war against the saints, which he will cause the abomination of desolation.
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Also immediately after the tribulation shall the resurrection happen, so if the tribulation was in the first century, and the resurrection has not happened yet for there are saints on earth, that does not seem like immediately.
I believe Jesus only mentions the first century when He mentioned the collapse of the temples, and that there is no reason for Him to come back then, and the rest is what is going on now.
