It's a sad state of affairs when you can smoke pot and still become president.

Well the Grace of God is amazing. Gods grace covers us almost as like a water, its all over us after we accept him. However, it is not a reason to sin, because Grace doesnt lead us to sin, that is our Old sin nature. Gods grace can forgive anyone, of anything, and we are saved by Grace through faith.. know what I mean?

We all sin, and will never come to the point where we sin no more, until Heaven. We are Sealed with the Spirit, Always saved if it was genuine and true. When we sin, we repent and restore the fellowship with God. Hebrews 10:17, Psalm 103, Psalm 103:12, Christ has forgiven us of all our sins, past present and future Praise God!

isn´t the lacing only a myth? ... if lsd is so expensive, why would they lace "cheap" stuff with it? - they´d loose money doing that...
It is a different kind of high to combine so they might as a special treat. Like I said, I would expect it would be done so for personal use.

There were hallucinagetics--pharmeceia had a specific definition of the use of these in pagan worship, as well as a general definition of occult worship. Opium was used in the fertile crescent thousands of years before Christ. It is interesting that Jews have lower alcoholism and other addiction rates than almost all other cultures.

Does that mean that the use of those substances would be banned because pagan worship was banned?

I think at the time they would have said yes. I believe that they should be banned because I believe that they open you to the worst influences of the flesh.

I think some of the problem is the stigma... some thing that if someone says they smoke marijuana people wil think they smoke themselves dumb every day...
sure some people do that, and that is bad. But what about thosw who only do it once in a while? they behave better than most drunk people I've met, and for some you don't even notice any change in their behavior at all

Ok. So here's the thing on marijuana.
Short term dangers: heart problems due to increased heart rate (50% increase), respitory porblems including suseptibility to infections, impaired judgements (MJ is a factor in one out of twenty fatal accidents), decreased testosterone and sperm count, loss of memory, flashes of paranoia.
Long term dangers: addiction, loss of interest (in work, school, relationships, etc.), lung cancer (3-5 times the danger of cigarettes), loss of ablity to remember (long term effects of THC storage), damage to unborn children (low weight, coordination difficulties) mental health issues (may trigger or increase).
The longer the use and the greater the use, the greater the effect. Some effects may disappear over time, others do not (i.e. cancer, triggered mental illness).
I'm repeating this because it got lost in the shuffle. This info is from the AMA, NIDA, and the CEA. I work with potheads, probably the worst users in terms of frequency and volume and see the effects very clearly. MJ is a hallucenagetic, albeit mild. It is addictive, although far less so than cocaine, meth (which is the worst!), opiates and alcohol. Nevertheless, the combination of the hallucenagetic effect and the addictive effect is a risky combination.
