I completely support the smoking of marijuana, as well as education on the facts about marijuana, because I guarantee you a lot of the people who condemn the usage of marijuana don't have the facts :)

i personally belive that smoking, either marjuiwana ( however u spell it lol :p ) or smoking any substance which can be classed as addictive.
(even normal cigerettees) should not be allowed.

it is somewhere in the bible, that we should not let ourselves become addicted to anything. or let our minds be taken over by a substance (somthng like that, i can remember the exact words )

so yes, i think smokin marijuana, should not be allowed, and should stop being produced.

.. :D ..

Dont really care if you smoke weed, only care if you tell other people that it's not a sin. You can argue with me there, but that's just how I feel.

Never did say it wasn't (I think),
I said alcohol is as dangerous as weeds, so it should also be banned ;) :) (and yes, yet I do drink it

and you don't have to loose control because you smoke weed, no more than be any other substance

I think that we just have to be sure that we are not being a stumbling block for others. Im not going to say that either is right. To me smoking marijuana is the same as murder in God's eyes. But that is MY opinion. At the same time I can't condemn anyone for doin it because I have a beer occasionally myself. Just as I do not believe that is wrong, you may believe that smoking marijuana is not wrong. Who am I to judge you? God Bless You All!!

Pay attention to the Holy Spirit folks. Pay attention. Ever noticed how when you are in a day of prayer and fast how close the Lord is. Pay attention to whats going on when you are wacked on weed... whats this doing to the Holy Spirit? I know last summer when I played caps with my husbands cousin and got a tad drunk I absolutely felt the conviction of the Holy spirit that this was NOT a good thing & I need to not do that again. In my own defense I was trying to drink away my mean motherinlaws existance... (does that sound like a defense?) Should have prayed her negativity away, woulda been more effective.

Thanks everyone for telling us how BAD marijuana is , it's so HARD to know these days what's good for you and what isn't. I certainly won't be smoking drugs anytime soon.
I love how your rare sense of humor does absoloutly nothing to furhter the discussion in these threads.

Marijuana is not addictive :)
My personal belief, which I don't know if it is completely correct or not, is that physically, a person cannot become addicted to marijuana, but the mind is a powerful thing. Even though it is physically impossible to become addicted to marijuana, if a person truly believes in their mind that they can become addicted than mentally they will become addicted. For people who know the facts, they will not become any more addicted to marijuana than your average American is addicted to sugar.

For example, it is hard for me to give up eating foods with sugar in them, but if my will is strong enough, I can do it. Likewise, for many people it may be hard to give up marijuana, but if their will is strong enough, they can do it.

Oh, well that's true about anything. If you believe that marijuana is addictive then yes, smoking it will get you mentally addicted. Which is why I support education about marijuana - teach people the facts so that this doesn't happen :)

Nuhen how frequently do you smoke it?
For now, I did it once last week. So I think I'll stick with once or twice a week, maybe less.

I know a guy who smokes it quite frequently, though.

I'm 100% positive that Christians are to follow the law of man as long as it doesn't conflict with the higher law of God.

Romans 13:1-2 "1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves."

Seeng as pot is illegal, I find it quite clear that it is also wrong biblicaly to smoke pot. No where in the bible does God say that smoking pot is one of the things we need to do, therefor it would be going against what God wants us to do by smoking pot.

Ok. So here's the thing on marijuana.
Short term dangers: heart problems due to increased heart rate (50% increase), respiratory problems including suseptibility to infections, impaired judgements (MJ is a factor in one out of twenty fatal accidents), decreased testosterone and sperm count, loss of memory, flashes of paranoia.
Long term dangers: addiction, loss of interest (in work, school, relationships, etc.), lung cancer (3-5 times the danger of cigarettes), loss of ablity to remember (long term effects of THC storage), damage to unborn children (low weight, coordination difficulties) mental health issues (may trigger or increase).
The longer the use and the greater the use, the greater the effect. Some effects may disappear over time, others do not (i.e. cancer, triggered mental illness).

Marijuana and Sorcery

The greek word for sorcery is parmakiea that is were "pharmacy" or "drugs" was derived.

Mind-altering drugs alter the state of conciousness and cause a person to enter the spiritual and demonic realm. People in witchcraft use these drugs to comunicate with spirits. The Bible says to be sober for the devil is a roaring lion seeking those he may devour.

I bealive that is why people on drugs make bad decisions: because they become controlled by spiritual entities.

All of which have been proven false. The very idea was proposed in a very vague and inconsistent report made by a doctor being paid by the government.
