We can imagine the surprise of the three women. What a strange situation, something unreal. Of course, they will need to see Jesus to understand it. And imagine the situation: three women are told about Jesus’ resurrection and not men in a patriarchal society! Wow!

Mark adds that when Jesus is in Simon’s home, the whole city is gathered right at the door. We can imagine that everybody is speaking about Jesus and his miracles. At the time of Jesus, Capernaum is a fishermen village of 1,700 inhabitants. The next day he gets up early in the morning, while it is still dark and looks for an isolated place and he prays but simon and the other disciples go for him. It is difficult to imagine Jesus’ state of mind being surrounded all the time by crowds or people. He had to fight to find moments to stay alone and pray. But whenever it was possible he would do it to pray to God. And the disciples tell him that people are looking for him but he says that they will go in other towns nearby to preach because he has come for that. Then he cures a leper. He tells him not to say to anybody but go to the priest and make an offer for his cleansing; But the former leper tells everybody what Jesus has just done to him. Thus Jesus can’t enter openly into a city but he has to stay in isolated places and people keep coming to him.

Like Matthew and Luke, Mark doesn't say a lot about Jesus' miracles: he expels a demon, he cures Simon's mother-in-law, he cures a leper and he cures people.

Mark speaks also doesn’t give many details about the miracles, a demon expelled, the fever of Simon’s mother-in-law, a leper, the conclusion about the choice of the disciples and no genealogy.

3-

Once again like Luke, Mark highlights how Jesus cures Simon’s mother-in-law’s high fever:

- He takes her by the hand and raises her up

- The fever leaves her

- She begin ministering to them

Once again everything happens all at once. And Mark gives us only the essential details!
