I know that many Christian men, and women, struggle with masturbation and other forms of sexual immorality.

What does the bible say about this issue?

"Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell."

So even looking at a woman or man to lust after them, you have committed adultery with them in your heart. It doesn't matter if they are married or not, you are still breaking the Lord's commandments.

"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

If you continue in your sexual immorality, your fornication, masturbation, idolatry, and any wicked and evil thought or deed, you will not inherit the kingdom of God.

It isn't saying masturbation explicitly, lust doesn't = masturbation nor masturbation = lust. Lust in the context of the verse that you quoted is dealing with adultery & divorce....

My question to you is: are you married?

The verses you keep quoting has to do with sex with another human being "outside" of marriage... the same ideas about sex that are completely holy and happy "within" a marriage... Nothing you have quoted alludes in the slightest to the physical form of masturbation... Scripture is completely silent on the issue. I'm not necessarily saying its "right" or "okay" to do, I'm just sayin your argument isn't very convincing when you are already pre-supposing certain assumptions and making them say that that is what scripture is saying... its called eisogesis...

All those verses and not one of em mention masturbation?? Before you start slamming people into a hellish cell, don't you think you should really know that you know that scripture is explicit on a certain subject. On this particular one its not and therefore you shouldn't be so quick to judge. After all, do you have apostolic authority to condemn anyone, who are we to say who is condemned and who is not?? We're called to build up and encourage saints not tear down ones who are in the faith...

Anyhoo, you never answered my question, are you married? Is it wrong for a husband and wife to share their bodies in an intimate way with each other, meaning sexually?

Each one of the verses you quoted above have a context to them and not one of them have anything to do with masturbation...

In the context fo the verses you gave, jesus is dealing with marriage and divorce not masturbation. Again, I don't struggle with masturbating, but at the same time I think its wrong for people to just whimsically say that something is a sin when they have no scriptural evidence for it....

Actually he doesnt speak about divorce until a little later. what He is speaking on is adultery of the heart, and when He refers to cutting of the right hand if it causes you to sin, He is specifically talking about masturbation.

the danger with masturbation is it can lead to excess and a lack of self-control. So to avoid God saying that your behavior is not holy, it is better to excercise self-restraint. The danger in masturbation is also not in hellfire but in continually burning passions best left for the marriage bed.

Galatians 5:23
Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [ that can bring a charge].

1 Corinthians 7:9
But if they have not self-control (restraint of their passions), they should marry. For it is better to marry than to be aflame [with passion and tortured continually with ungratified desire].

Masturbation is sexual immorality. There is nothing to argue you here. The word abortion is not in the bible, but we know it is wrong because it says "Thou shall not commit murder." The word masturbation is not in the bible, but we know that it is wrong because it says "Thou shall not commit adultery." Jesus said that if we lust after a women in our hearts, we have committed adultery with her already. If you think you can defile the Lord's temple and be found blameless on judgment day, think again. Repent, turn from your masturbation and porn watching, and you can find forgiveness through Jesus Christ. If you do not turn from your sins, then you are none of His.

You are wrong. God will not be mocked. Do not defile your body, for it is not your own, you were bought with a price. Masturbation is sin, it is sexual immorality, and if you continue therein you shall perish. I am not saying this bring you down, but to lift you up.

I didnt think you would, and i have not condemned anybody. If i were to say murder is a sin, just exactly who am I condemning by that statement? Calling sin, sin is not condemnation
