He was killed in Italy?
I thought he was killed in Jerusalem?
you have to dig through lots of historical accounts about 80% say Italy some say city of rome. a few say Jerusalem. all three are the same thing to me. pharisees and rome controlled Jerusalem and pharisees leadership could not become leadership without going through roman administration. and they only approved those that were pro roman. thats why you have the zealot split off, same school of thought but they did not bow down to rome.

Can you provide an example of what you consider to be "oddball doctrine"
tongues, as in angel language, would be one. IMO

Did you read the full account of what Paul was actually saying to those in the church at Corinth?

THAT'S the test!: If the teachings cause controversy, well, they can't be of God!

Ummm... anyone ever heard the teachings of our Christ, maybe?

Do people actually think anymore?

Given the number of nut-jobs currently operating here ... how did you expect your post to be understood exactly...
It was an attention grabber - for all the wrong reasons!
And whose fault might that be I wonder...
Exactly...

let me tell you what happens if you throw out paul:

#1 you throw out majority of the new testament

#2 you also need to throw out peter for he called paul his "beloved brother" and said that people would twist paul's letters to their own destruction as they do other scriptures

#3 you also need to throw out luke because he was paul's companion and he wrote acts and the gospel of luke so those are out.......

i do agree that people sometimes act like paul is higher authority than what Jesus said and try to make a separation between the gospel Jesus and paul preached as if it was a different gospel and this i do reject................

For the longest time, I was really pissed at Paul! And NOT at how gullible, and lazy, man has become! And, how they so love those with that tickle their itching ears! Kinda sounds like a politician, don't it?... "Just tell 'em what they wanna hear! Oh, "blind shepherds!" Bending to the will of the elders of the churches of stone they presumably are "called" to serve in! Tis more, any "particular" church of stone's "establishment", or elders n deacons. Sad, Sad, Sad!

I've tried to make sense of your rant. Could you explain this? Sounds to me (I could be wrong) that you're ridiculing the church which you call "church of stone's."

You do understand that Paul wasn't talking about an outward structural church
Right?

This picture makes no sense. I'm sure you meant it to mean something very profound but I don't get it Care to explain?
It's not profound. It is a small ship trolling the waters. :D

Did Jesus and His disciples go around preaching His death, burial and resurrection for sin? What's the gospel of the Kingdom? This was preached to God's physical people Israel and was forbidden to be preached to the Gentiles or even the Samaritans. See Matthew 10.

Thing is though, the gospels were written long after the death of Jesus on the cross.
The apostles were not carry around an binder with all the things Jesus did and said.
It was their memories and Paul's revelations directly from God that became what
we call New Testament. Much of the Old Testament sprang from oral tradition which
was written down many years after much of it was already said.

John 21:25
King James Bible
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

The intent of scripture is not to make us scholars but to give us the tools and steps
for our journey to God. It is not a book to analyse or intellectualise; it is written
for us to come ever closer to the heart of God.

Ppl say the Garden account was an allecgory...
Ppl take Genesis 1:1,2 and make a 'gap theory'...
Ppl take the creation account and have the universe to be billions of years old...

If I go by the OP's logic, I need to toss the first book of the bible out.

Just because ppl twist the scriptures doesn't mean they need to be tossed out. Take the Berean approach and read them daily to see that they are what they are...divinely revealed truths unto us.

Ever notice that Gods word has been under attack since the garden?

Ge 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

God has penned the word through His will.

For the cause of Christ

Amen...the NT believers lived by the awareness of Christ being in them and lived totally dependent on His life. It's the hearing of faith of Christ Himself that feeds the inner man in Christ - the new creation created in righteousness and holiness.

Right, toss out the ppl, not the Scripture, LOL! :D

Can you post the Scripture where the Lord and His disciples preached His death, burial and resurrection for sins?
