I do too.
Prayer is awesome.

I would love it, if l truly believed they were actually praying for me,
......and not just gun slinging a cliche statement and the end of their very long note to me, describing how much l suck.
Need a bumper sticker saying my God is bigger than your God

But don't you think it's error to categorize a message board as a church congregation? You have cults and trolls out the wazoo, who would not congregate with a mainstream Christian church. Neither have I found such error of basic doctrines in a real church.
That's why I also said, " ... or in any Christian community, including those online." This is essentially a community of Christians that meet in an open air café. Our talks about Christ can be "overheard," and those who take issue are even more likely to take issue than if we truly were in an open air café.

This is far from a Christian community, I believe having seen everything of the faith vilely refuted here, at one time or another, which I've never seen done by a church congregation, ever. Also, you first have to be dealing with a Christian, to say you're disputing with a Christian. Disputing with the unsaved is no different than disputing with the world, and spiritually dead is spiritually dead.
In that respect, this is good practice for living in the world, isn't it? Behind the anonymity of the Internet, people can be more cruel, more vicious, more affronting than they would be face-to-face.

One of the most disappointing things for me to discover in my study of Christian history is that there has never been a time when there were not conflicts, strife, differing opinions -- all of which served to divide the church. Even Paul dealt with it.
Philippians 4, NASB
1 Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.
2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony in the Lord.
3 Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

I think Jesus foresaw, or foreknew, that there would be difficulties among us.
John 17
20
"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;
21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
22 "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;
23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

We are one in Christ. Does that mean we share the same views? Just look around CC to see the absurdity of that concept. Recently I have been one of the worst of those who are convinced that the best way to believe is my way. Spiritual superiority has no place in the church or in any Christian community, including those online.

How to overcome it? Well, as with me, the rest are going to have to become convicted of their pride and their reliance on knowledge applied without love. Until then, I think the best thing to do is simply let them rant. Many of you confronted me about how I "know it all" and can't let the slightest deviation from the doctrine I hold dear to be challenged. Did I respond in love? Unfortunately, no. I responded with the essense of "If I want your opinion, I'll ask for it."

So forgive me for being one of the "homospiritual" of the recent past. I had to see in my own words, through the revelation of the Holy Spirit I was quenching, how hurtful and arrogant they were. Help me not to slip back into that. As I've quoted so often lately, we must take the attitude of Paul, all of us.
1 Corinthians 2
2
For I determined to know nothing * among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
Now this is real....this is a man who understands how fortunate he is because of the grace and mercy given to us. I think what stands out the most and is so painfully obvious...... is the ones who are truly homospiritual lack the gratitude and humility it takes to say.....I don't have all the answers and neither do I need too.

You're a good dude VW and I for one am glad you're here.

To be fair.....of course we all stand firm, and follow what we believe is the truth.

It would be pretty odd to not believe we are not so right on issues, yet believe we have some truth, but truth would vary depending on who sees or hears it....and then continue following and preaching it?

Wouldn't make much sense.
Like.... this post.
....or what Bruce Jenner did.

You know...those people who isolate themselves from the body of Christ and claim some spiritual superiority over everyone else. How do we lead them back to the body of Christ?
Horse and water, my friend. Horse and water. (As in you can lead a horse to water, but...)

We can nudge. God forces the drink.

BTW, you are talking some of our local ivory-tower dwellers, right? Some I have a heart for; some I avoid.

Haha...yup. I was at walmart the other night I found a new brand of sarcasm stick...so I thought I'd try it out on some of pillars of virtue and truth around here.

I wonder how long it will be before the homospirituals start demanding equal rights......like being able to come to our "dens of thieves" and tell us the "real" truth on things.

We let the world turn a few times and watch how God allows trouble in their lives and then we can rush in to bring them back to the reality that we need each other. God doesn't call people to become Lone Rangers.
Paul was killed by Rome, after surviving a serious shipwreck, another trip to prison, and an illness few thought he'd survive. Peter was hung on a cross. Only one apostle survived to old age. The rest were killed for their beliefs. (Even old-age guy spent quite some time on an island in exile.)

Just sayin', trouble in our lives isn't always a sign that God is punishing us. It usually isn't. It's that stupid weak moment in life when I asked God to give me patience. He doesn't take back his promises. lol

I call it Pharisaic Complex, aka, nauseating arrogance to the nth degree. One full page now with this thread and not one of them has chimed in. Very interesting. This means they know full well who they are and the error of their ways, but their pride keeps them going and going and going . . .
Orrrr... they're normal people at work.

I couldn't agree with you any more! You are right on target with all of your posts. THEY really do need DELIVERANCE. Deliverance from the complacent attitude, self righteousness, legalistic mindset, 'better than thou' snub nosed looks, and idea that they know better how the world works. The chatroom is full of them. THey use the internet as their soapbox pulpit. I will not list screen names...as most already know them. LONE WOLVES are not effective gospel news announcers. The sad joke is to listen to the reasons they choose NOT to attend regular worship and praise services.

So what are some characteristics of a homospiritual?

1) They talk like they are wearing a tunic, haven't bathed in 3 weeks and might smell like a hot foot forest: i.e. they say lots thee's and thous and dost's haveth noteth's and whatnot and some even think they have God's "secret" name.

2) They say "but" a lot.

3) They are cryptic in their posts. Kinda so they can have wiggle room I suppose.

I came up with 3...anyone else care to add?
