Romans 8:37...Nay, in all things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

I've always thought this to be an odd verse. Why are we said to be more than conquerors and not merely conquerors?

Because of our having accepted Jesus Yeshua as Lord, we have overcome the world, the entire world. Don't tell them though!

Man's conquest of nature does not apply in the Bible at all.
We are to be Kings of life,we want to use the truth of life to dominate, rather than conquer.
If you understand the difference between them.

Here is just an example:Just as an example, there is no place to discriminate against anyone.
Prostitutes are governed by money, food, all sorts of worldly things, they are slaves to these things.A slave is someone who does something he/she doesn't want to do.
They do not conquer these things; they are dominated by these things.

They are dominated by idols not real life.

We are to be Kings of life,we want to use the truth of life to dominate, rather than conquer.

In the two verses prior, Christians are informed that they will sometimes have to endure “tribulation or distress or persecution or hunger or nakedness or danger or sword” or even “death.” But we can become victorious over these distressing circumstances and be assured of God’s love for his people provided we keep our integrity.

conqueror:
a person who conquers a place or people; a vanquisher.

more than conquerors:

Revelation 3:21 KJV
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Revelation 20:4 KJV
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

I get that. But conquerors can do that. Why more than conquerors?

I believe this is on the right track.

It stands to reason that if we are going to reign with Christ it would serve us well to understand how He reigns.
What do you think Romans 8:37 tells us about how He reigns?

We didn't conquer. We received a free gift.
Conquerors are not secure. They can be stripped of their conquest by death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, or any other creature. We can't be stripped of what we have freely obtained; the love of Christ/God.

That works for salvation. Do you think God has anything else in mind besides that?

In case it’s a trick question I will say …..
Through His love for us.
But…….we
Revelation 2:27 KJV
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
Revelation 19:15 KJV
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Revelation 12:5 KJV
And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

I guess online it's always good to be a little wary of someone's motives, but I have no interest in tricking anyone.
I presented a scripture that seems a little odd in its construction and wondered why God would convey an aspect of truth in the manner He has. Is there more there than meets the eye?
