Crack negatively affects the mind and can cause you to harm others and is overall very dangerous. I believe God gave us common sense too, just saying. When it comes to instruments in a church i believe it comes down to the heart, not the instruments used.
Instrumental music causes the foot to tap to the music, not to the words of worship of God.

Well, Angela if this is true how do you explain the fact that the instrument was rejected in worship for at least the first 1000 years of Church history?
Because they do not read the bible.

The silent hermeneutic is a very prominent fixture in scripture.
Yes the directive is prominent if you base your entire method of interpretation of the scriptures on personal deductive methods and then argue from one premise or hypothesis to another until you arrive at a satisfactory conclusion.
This is nothing more than what secular science, humanism and evolutionists call the scientific method.

It also seems the approach to interpretation of the scriptures becomes even more confusing when you add the human deductive reasoning with the historical-grammatical method of christian hermeneutics

The fact that you do not believe in spiritual initiated conversion says it all. If you do not believe that, then it is understandable why you lean on much of your human understanding and why COC doctrine is built on a humanistic approach to interpreting the scriptures that is based on human deductive reasoning.

No. I think authority is the right word.
Show me the Greek where it says the "authority" of instruments is not allowed. Of course, you know that word is ἐξουσία or exousia! Jesus is the final authority, and he did NOT condemn instruments.

Jesus said love God with all your heart, according to your "inclusive" reasoning, with that we can love Him a little, love Him a lot, love His sometimes etc...

can you see the problem with justifying self imposed religion?

Jas 2:10 (KJV)
10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.

If you're going to use the Psalms to justify instrumental music, you must also use the whole, in other words, you must perform animal sacrifice etc... you cannot cherry pick what you wish to worship.
The last I looked I don't think that it is a "commandment of the law" to play music or not to play music. Was music played on instruments in the OT - yes. I believe that the book of Psalms has poetry, prayers and songs - some of which were used in public worship services. Is Psalms law? ummmm - I'm not sure but I don't think so. Does it contain words inspired by the holy Spirit? Yep . . . .

You are not an angel, we are not in heaven, you were not commanded to worship like the angels anymore than you were commanded to worship like David, neither can you show the NT church worshiped like an angel (or David)
We don't turn into angels when we die. Read the verse again.
Those holding the harps are those who were victorious! Believers. I am commanded to worship like David, as I hold all Scriptures as God breathed and useful for instruction, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

Ok this is gonna sound harsh, but where does the Bible, give you the authority to tell how a church what intruments or not to use to worship the Lord? If people are worshiping from the heart, then what does it matter? They are using their talents for God.

Because they are the assembly, and we who are in Christ ARE the assembly. Why seperate corporate worship from all other activities. That is an OT thought, with a physical rule. We are under the Spirit of that Law, which is to live our entire lives as separated (sanctified).
So, if this is to be understood as a worship scene how do you feel this overturns the instructions given by Paul?

oh, I get it..NEW TESTAMENT...gotcha...the CHRISTIAN church in the 1st century did NOT

oh, I get it...you select just the NEW Testament..gotcha...what about the Psalms where we are told to sing praises, uses ins

Oh, I get it. You select JUST the new testament, and ignore the OLD TESTAMENT..gotcha humm..so when KING DAVID tells us to praise GOD and use instruments for HIS exaltation, it is no good, nada and to be swept under the rug..Hummm.....keep in mind...a true CHRISTIAN in the 1st century..was a label, first used in the pagan city of Antioch to identify those poor people who followed this dead jewish carpenter named JESUS CHRIST. It was a derrogatory term, much like how the Brits called us colonists "YANKEE DOODLES'. Worship services were held in people's private homes, at the beach, on the front porch of an existing temple, in the woods, in caverns and even graveyards because CHRISTIANITY, in BIBLICAL days, was banned by the worlds conquerers. WHO would dare carry a zither, a large drum, harp, flute, tamborine, etc. around in public to dance and rejoice and worship JESUS? They did not have the freedom of worship as the old testament or today that you and I have. Do you honestly think that the wrath of GOD will come pouring down into the sanctuary of your church if a holy spirit led person with the gift of music and talent used his electric guitar as part of uplifting worship? Get real.....please.

When you order a big mack, do you tell them everything you don't want on the menu so to get your big mack?
that is beside the point. can you or can you not show us scripture that banns using such instruments or not? Because if you cannot then all you have is your own opinion and thus you have no right to speak ill of using such instruments to worship God thats all there is to it no beating around the bush no using a metaphor no trying to convince us otherwise

Are you living in the OT or the NT?

It overturns nothing, but in fact compliments his instruction. The two are in no way opposed. The command to sing psalms in no way cancels out accompaniment of that singing, or even instrumentals. The question is about whether or not it is beneficial in corporate worship, not about whether it is allowed in Scripture. It is certainly within our freedom and authority.

Instrumental music causes the foot to tap to the music, not to the words of worship of God.
If your foot offends you then cut it off it is better to enter the kingdom maimed than to loose your soul... Don't you dare tap that foot..... Are you cereal? Or are you pulling my leg?

I don't know. I guess you want to bring back the rituals of the RC church then? Like indulgences and the necessity of the mass to save? Or that the church saves, rather than Jesus Christ? Because that is what happened to the western church under the heavy hand of the RCC.

The early church got really off course, because of Jerome's poor translation into Latin, and the fact that no one could read Latin, except some of the priests, and what Rome said is what happened. Following an earthly authority instead of the Bible got the early church terribly off course, I think you will agree.

Besides, you never answered a single thing I said in my post!

Do I need to show you the scripture that says you cannot do crack cocaine?
We should nominate this post for the best COP out of the year....

You cannot produce a verse that says they are not allowed, because it does not exist.

I feel that acapella is the most beneficial to the congregation in corporate worship, but not a mandate of Scripture, nor implied by Paul's wording.

In all those years, have you been able to show one verse that shows the NT church to ever use music like you play in their worship of God?
oh and another thing...you do know that worship has zero to do with music and everything to do with lifestyle right?

I guess you guys did not get the memo on that one.
