Have you read the Old Testament???

God preferred Israel over Egypt. God preferred Israel over Canaan.

Is this morally ambiguous? No, of course not. Even ignoring the FACT that it is God who defines what is moral and what is not. There is a reason why God prefers some groups of people over others. There is a reason why God divides some people from others. It is for His Glory and to His Glory.

Its facts. Not wishes. Not hopes. All we have left is to be grateful. And the hardened side just has their animosity and hate.

How is God loving those who He saves and not loving those who He does not save any different than separating Israel from Egypt in the OT?
Perhaps consider the purpose and role of Israel.

He surely did not do them any favours later on did He?

The Lord Jesus Christ was the biggest favor to Israel than anything before or after.

So yes, God does show His Favor on them, continually.

Good, I was hoping to take you here.
I think the Parable of the Sower gets right to the question of whether God purposely creates some soil with the potential to retain and bring to fruition the word of God, and purposely creates some without that potential.
Dude you've told me a dozen times how you think about people having 'good and noble hearts' or not, and I've asked every time how one gets such a heart :p

So about what you said here, is it any different than double predestination?

God will separate the wheat from the tares and the sheep from the goats, and we can have faith that He knows what He is doing and that all will be accomplished according to His good plan on His timetable. As to Egypt, they had many false gods including Pharaoh who was likewise considered to be a god, and who hardened his heart multiple times against God even after all the plagues that were sent on his land and his people. Yes God did harden his heart, yet Pharaoh had already hardened it multiple times himself before God did that, and we are specifically told it was for the purpose of showing forth His supremacy and the ultimate impotence of false idols in the face of His power.

The first plague, turning water into blood, revealed the impotence of Khnum, the
guardian of the river, Hapi, the spirit of the Nile, and Osiris, whose blood was the Nile.

The second plague, the frogs, revealed the impotence of Hapi and Heket,
who were symbolized by frogs and were related to Egyptian fertility rites.

The third plague, that of lice, revealed the impotence of Seb, the earth god.

The fourth plague, that of flies, revealed the impotence of Uatchit, the god of flies.

The fifth plague, the disease on cattle, revealed the impotence of Ptah,
Mnevis, Hathor, and Amon, Egyptian gods associated with bulls and cows.

The sixth plague, the plague of boils, revealed the impotence of Sekhmet,
the goddess of epidemics, and Imhotep, the god of healing.

The seventh plague, the hail mixed with fire, revealed the impotence of Nut, the sky goddess,
Isis and Seth, Egyptian agricultural deities, and Shu, the god of the atmosphere, weather, and sky.

The eighth plague, the swarms of locusts, revealed the impotence
of Serapia, the deity who was to protect Egypt from locusts.

The ninth plague, that of darkness, revealed the impotence of Re,
Amon-re, Aten, Atum, and Horus, all of who were related to the sun.

Finally, the tenth plague, the death of the firstborn sons of Egypt, revealed
the impotence of Pharaoh himself, who was worshiped as a deity in Egypt.

And what did I answer you?
I'm checking to see if you understood what I told you.
It may have just gone right past you.

Well you misunderstood me or I was not clear .. no matter.
His favor on them does not negate that He is desiring all should come to repentance.

How can God wished ALL should be saved
... if faith cometh by hearing the gospel
.... and we know ALL do not hear the gospel ????

What is the gospel aside from the Truth embodied in God's Son, Who gave His life that we can attain to life ever after and be reconciled to Him by grace through faith in His shed righteous blood on our behalf due to His everlasting, unfailing love? God is more than capable of revealing Himself through His eternal Living Word to those who are not exposed to the revealed written Word.

I am not desiring :p to debate the merits of Calvinism really... I know all the arguments you guys pose.

It is a fruitless endeavour I have learned.

For I take no pleasure in anyone's death, declares the Lord GOD. So repent and live!

If God does purposely create some soil with the potential to retain and bring to fruition the word of God, and purposely creates some without that potential, then, no, it is not any different than double predestination (as Calvinism erroneously understands predestination).

"16In the past, he let all nations go their own way. 17Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.” - Acts 17:16-17

"13For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)" - Romans 2:13-15

It is a tough nut to crack, that's for sure.
But there are a rare few stalwart Calvinists who have abandoned it.

Says who?

One does not need to hear it from man. God can and does talk to people when he convicts the world of sin righteousness and judgment

God will not go against you will. And he is not obligated to send people to danger when the word is not received when the spirit convicts

Your answer is unclear.
Are you saying one does not need to hear the gospel to be saved?
Are you saying one who has not heard the gospel can be saved by his righteousness. (His works)????

???????

Only to the extent that one's righteous workings are the expression of his faith in what God has shown him to be true about Himself, as limited as it may be.

maybe we are all missing something here. but if we ask the spirit, he may reveal it in time, if we wish to know truly and not just confirm things we already believe.

When you say solely did you mean with the Intellect alone within our own strength?
The people who I have heard this from usually mean that Christ is a role model that they must emulate.. so yes I I would state just by knowledge OF rather than Saviour IN.

Please provide scripture to verify your claim that "God can and does talk to people" about salvation as salvation is the context of my question. I assume God's talk to those that have not heard the gosple is about salvation? Can you tell us of people who have not heard the gospel that "God talks to" and about that conversion? Did God tell them about Christ?

God will not go against you will.

Agreed ... NO ONE SEEKS GOD. The will of all those whom God did not select is not changed and they go to hell as a result.

And he is not obligated to send people to danger when the word is not received when the spirit convicts
Agreed. The word is never received unless the Spirit first regenerates the person thus changing their will. Since God has chosen to save people by the hearing of the gospel, none that have not heard the gospel are regenerated. All remain spiritually dead.
