If a person doesn't want to address us with honor, our conversation will probably not be life-giving for either side.

Yes I have had to go that route too with a few, I saw no other option.

Grace777 told me to guard my heart and I have learned it is very important to do so.

Go back to the original passage where God declared Abraham righteous.

He did it because Abraham believed, NOT because he yet did one work. All Abraham's mighty works came after he was declared righteous.

He worked because he had true faith.. He was not saved because of those works, he worked because he was saved.
Amen and Paul's inspired conclusion is clear.....He believed and it was put to his account for righteousness.......it is faith that saves, justifies, seals and sanctifies in Christ positionally and eternally....!

true faith is a two way bonding its not a one way ticket for a single person faith is not a once in a life time event like the true meaning of salvation..

Thank you for your response.

There is an overwhelming number of Scriptures that tell us we are dead to the old man.

Here's one:

Romans 6:6 We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

This is a faith statement. It is a positional statement. We say AMEN to this statement.

Now to address your Scripture.

I agree we are also running a race, but what empowers us to run this race? It is by the power of what Christ did. And the good works He set before us:

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

We run a race for a reward not for a gift. We are giving the gift of eternal life in Christ. The race is for the upward call of Christ.

Phillippians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Please note:

1. Paul explains he is not yet perfect, he has not yet fully obtained everything Christ has purchased for him.
2. Yet he forgets the past, and presses forward into Christ....
3. So that he may win the prize of being fully formed in Christ!!!

So I do agree, there is a tension, but the tension isn't found in saying my body controls me, but it's found in saying Christ controls me. Paul is explaining the need to remember who you are in Christ not that we can't have victory.

As I shared elsewhere I am not saying we are perfect in the flesh, but we are perfect in Christ. And as we pursue Him we go from glory to glory. Disciplining the body is not letting it be our master, but continually living for Love.

Do you think Paul literally beat his body? I would say no. He is using an illustration here. And we see that because he begins with the story of running in a race for a perishable crown. Corinth was a Greek community. Running for a wreath is what the Greeks would do.

Here's another Scripture for you to consider about this topic:

Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

Thank you for addressing the Scriptures and not attacking me directly.

C.

YOU SAID that because we're saved we are dead to sin, as in "done deal".

Your post said:

That says the old man (the flesh) is already dealt with, which isn't true.

Paul says:
1 Corinthians 9
24Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 25Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; 27but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

Noah had already "found grace" (Genesis 6:8), was "a preacher of righteousness" (2 Peter 2:5), and "walked with God" BEFORE he built the ark. His obedience in building the ark was a DEMONSTRATION of his faith, not the origin of it.
Oh no the grace word......thank God for the greasy grace that the workers for reject in favor of a cafe blend working for dogma.....

FOR by grace are yousaved through FAITH <----THE MEANS IS FAITH NOT WORKS......and the word THROUGH is clear enough....

I was not mocking I was stating a fact, and I stand by what I wrote. Cee has taught me a lot.
There is only one Gospel. And the majority here at least seem to agree on it...do you?

No it's not..,,Biblical grace is not the same as easy believism but blending the terms helps for confusion and more controversy.
I stand by what I said.......easy believism is a moronic term and not found anywhere in scripture..

He that believes is having everlasting life....end of story

depends on how you define easy believism.

if we are talking about licentiousness you are right

if we are talking about the simplicity that is found in christ

2 Corinthians 11:3

But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Paul spoke of his fear that satan would corrupt peoples minds so they could not find the simplicity that was in christ, This is easy believism in its basic form.
Exactly.......and I have posted enough for all to know that I do not push the liscense to live like the "debil" BOBBY Bouche.... ;)

Agreed. And with the added danger that to continue with them could possibly cause US to begin walking in the flesh! We've all fallen into that. Hopefully we have learned by it.

Hi all...Just wondering what is easy believism and hypergrace...I have never researched these things so do not understand what they mean, are they man made twist on Scriptures, i ask this because i see a lot of people speaking against them...The knowledge that i am learning is from my Bible, and i do watch a few pastors from old just to help me a long the way...I made a post yesterday saying that i believe osas but now i am thinking that`s not the term to use because i had never used that term in the 22 months of being saved, i just believed that i am saved because i truly believe that the Lord is my Savior and it s He who is working in me, the Scriptures tell me i am saved, i never questioned it utill i came to this thread, then reading through post i got confused, i started doubting what i had been taught from the Bible, i was fearing mans word over Gods word, now i am settled knowing that i am truly saved, i am not believing this out of fear and pretending, i believe it because it is the truth, maybe one day as i become more mature in the word i will understand why their are disputes about salvation, but for now i just rest in Him, trust, lean and rely on Him, just as He has told me to and let Him grow me :)...praise the Lord...\o/...xox...
Terms made up by those who push a working for salvation that can be lost or forfeit.....!
