36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Which Commandment is not Kept if we Love?

Verse 3:"Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God."

The Apostle Paul is commending their good works of faith - not the other way around. Nobody is saying to not have good works. And the Thessalonians were not pointing out to Paul how great their works were. If my wife made a terrific chicken pot pie and everybody at dinner loved her pie; she would not explain in detail how difficult it was to put this work of mine on the table; no she would graciously say thank you. The Thessalonian's put God first, their labor of love followed.
Again we are saved unto good works; not by them.

Not really seeing your point... I have said nothing of your above... but if it pushes something then.. your entitled..

p.s the horse could push the cart... draw no comparison.. I'm talking about the horse and cart only.

Yes Joe.

But everything to which you're alluding above happened at the END of Jesus' ministry.
As you must surely know, His ministry lasted about 3 1/2 years. Not one month.

The sentence of yours above, which I highlighted, is Mathew 26:24
Jesus and the Apostles were at the Last Supper.

It was the END of Jesus' ministry, not the beginning.
Of course by the end, Jesus knew Judas would betray him.

But all through the previous 3 1/2 years Jesus treated Judas as He treated the other 11 Apostels.
EVEN SENDING HIM OUT TO PREACH GOD'S WORK.
Mathew 10:1-15

I repeat:
HOW could an unbeliever preach God's word and be sent out to do so by JESUS???
how did saul later named paul, speak well of Jesus alongside his disciples despite before hand murdering Jesus's followers in churches?
he didn't believe yet Jesus chose him as a vassal, nothing is impossible,if you look into the bible God/Jesus has chosen some of the cruelest and non believing people to be either used for a needed purpose or as an eventual disciple/apostle,even some odd type people has God/Jesus used for the good of Israel or overall good for all mankind, such a woman prophetess,a sorcerer named simon(not simon peter simon the witch craft user),Judas Iscariot is no different,he may have been curious about Jesus as "many" eventual disciples were, they weren't all necessarily "true believers" is the point being established particularly with Judas Iscariot,"true belief"'in Jesus was not the reason Jesus gave them power to heal and cast out demons,it was because as a whole they had value to Jesus whether temporarily or permanently.

Hi all...Why do you think the Bible says 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure...

It makes me ask myself, what would happen if i did not work out my own salvation with trembling and fear, it kind of feels like a warning to me, can someone help explain it to me please and thank you...xox...

Interesting you left out the first line of Romans 7 and some other important parts like

“Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?” Rom 7:1.

He then explains that we died to the law when we were wedded to Christ!

And you should also note that it is that the scripture needs to be consistent and Paul would not contradict himself therefore…

Paul is not writing here from the experience of a believer but of who he was under the law

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” Rom 7:23

This is his experience as a believer……

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Rom 8:2

You are to Keep the Commandments of GOD.

Nothing is written that teaches otherwise...

Being forgiven and remembering iniquity no more...

It is clear that one delights in the law with their inward.. the law is Spiritual.. one Must be Born of the Holy Spirit.. like the Messiah taught.

Romans 7

2 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Okay Really; let the horse push the cart or "let your works go before you":

For some unknown reason, (pride) people put their own works before Christ Jesus - the song goes "How Great Thou Art" not look how great I am. Their is only one reason why people do not Magnify the Lord, and put God's work before their own and that is "Pride" the original sin. This backwards theology also happened between Cain and Able; Cain brought forth his own "good works." Able's sacrifice was acceptable to God; Cain's was not. This is basic Sunday School theology.

Even if you give people proof; they will still put forth their own works, (pride), ahead of God's.

This is a very interesting concept.

Only one problem.

If the Holy Spirit is guiding everyone,
How come we all have different ideas?
I never said "everyone" not all choose to accept the holy spirit.

No... the Messiah teaches His Word should be our foundation.

so you have created a religion for yourself.. for we are taught to be perfect and righteous like our Father.

So your sinless?

i am sure you not saying this, but I wish people understood when you say things like this that Is what it sounds like.

God wants us to grow and learn to be Christlike loving and serving others, which the people you all like to judge believe. Are they wrong?

Truly believing the death and Resurrection of Christ is to adhere to His Testimony.

He gave Himself for our forgiveness and reconciliation with GOD....

It is because of what came to pass on the cross and His Resurrection that He can reward us with the gift of Everlasting life.

He will give this reward according to our works.

Worthy is the Lamb.

Nothing could come to pass without GOD's Grace, mercy and love.
i agree with everything here,

what he will not do is reward us with salvation according to our works, which is what quite a few here teach, no matter how hard they deny it,

Jesus will not reward a non believer with anything no matter how many good works they do, they are condemned, period,

mmmm... I'm not making this up...

Is there something wrong with being rewarded a gift for our works..

if it is the Master Himself who requires such work?

Salvatin is a gft not a reward, so anyone who says otherwise, yes, there is something majorly wrong,

Then my dear you should read His Testimony...

Matthew 5

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

you can read all the chapter.. I'm certainly not being deceitful or evil...

that word means mature, not sinless,

the reason Jesus said his is because the Pharisee was considered the most righteous person who lives, Jesus said a fact, even their god deeds will not save them, and the people he told it to KNEW they could not even live up to hat standard,

Yes...I agree.

It's not the words of Jesus that people are trying to say some are against.

What some people like yourself and myself are really saying is "your interpretations" of Jesus' words are the issue - not Jesus' words themselves because they are life to those that see what He is saying and rely on Him alone or death to those that rely on their own righteousness and good works.

We can look at them through the lens of the Old Covenant mind set or from the New Covenant of what Christ has accomplished in His finished work on the cross and resurrection.

There is a vast difference between the 2.

Anyway...I'm gone for the rest of the day!
but the problem is SLR, a 80. sa 80. never cared about your class, holiday, when the firing squad, is chasing you.
why a lie cannot stand in the presence. of the dead.
