Those of the flesh must make scripture fit the needs of the flesh, thus Judas always had a devil and never was saved in order to fit their twisted theology of OSAS.......Jesus gave power to devils to cast out devils???????????????????? .they make the bible say the opposite to sooth the flesh and its lusts therein. You can explain it 6 ways from Sunday and they will never get it because they are forever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth....they resist truth at all points....
Do you believe everyone who disagrees with you is of the flesh?

I don't.

Sometimes they know more than me and I need to honor them to receive from them.

And other times, they see differently than me, but it doesn't agree with my own walk, but I honor them in their own walk.

And finally sometimes, they are walking in the flesh, but I don't discover this by their "theology", but more by the fruit of their theology. How they treat people, how they treat me, how they see others, how they see themselves, and how they understand God.

We are all on a journey of maturity. We are continually growing up in Christ.

What I want to be wary of is the idea that people "don't want to know" the truth.

As soon as I believe this about someone, I am partnering with the wrong spirit, and I will seek to persuade instead of understand.

Yet Paul says, I did not come with wise persuasive words, but the power of the Spirit. That's the model I want to follow.

Hi SBG...I believe everyone of us has been there to what you have said...We have all believed we have heard from God but we have not, it`s called discerning, but thank God we hear our shepherds voice, I believe also that this will be a problem all the days of our life, that`s why we are warned to be sober minded against the evil one who whispers false talk in our ear...xox...

I must spread some reputation, amen sis

The golden chain of redemption includes all phases to the believer as accomplished;

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. - Romans 8:29-30
The calvinist touch, what part of the 'golden chain' was not highlighted? The "those whom he foreknew" part.
All the other ones were. Just pointed this out for other people's sake. Carry on ladies and gentlemen.

I think we need to go back to the topic of this thread
Amen.......Jesus saves by faith and faith alone......NOT ONE WORK CAN BE DONE AND OR USED TO embellish the faith that saves.....HE that believes on the son is having everlasting life!

Jesus said Judas was not clean. Why do you reject this?

Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.” For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, “Not all of you are clean.”

So jesus calling him an unbeliever and the devil was just a mistake on Jesus part?

Hi C...Paul did say " Imitate me " The reason he said that was because He walked in the Holy Spirit...Bless you brother, nice post...xox...

Gee, if this site reflects the real church at all, there's only a small real number of us, & we're outnumbered at over 20 to 1, outnumbering us even more in resources.

There's nothing plenteous about our number.

What we do have plenty of is the very thing you keep claiming in vain to have: grace.

That's right..... and it's your group's fault.

Note the scripture:

Romans 5
20The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,21so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When sin abounds around us, God's grace abounds even more. It always does.

So, when sin surrounds me to fight me, & sin works behind my back with words of flattery to deceive me, more grace is at my disposal.

God's grace is always sufficient for me regardless of the traps Satan sets for me.

And there's nothing you can do about it.:D
its only the few that walk upright in the wilderness Stephan....out of 1 million in Israel Jesus only had a very few follow after Him...by the time of Act 1 there were only 120 in the upper room...the way of truth is to narrow and difficult, and the vast majority die in the wilderness because of unbelief, or as John 6-66 (the sons of perdition); says they left and returned no more......be blessed.

Willy made up some fanciful story the other day about Jesus attempting to win Judas over, when Jesus was in fact showing the apostles who was going to betray Him. Christ knew from the start who was going to betray Him!

Yes, I see your derogatory slam.

For all the ladies and gentlemen out there, it was an oversight unintended. Obviously, as a "calvinist" I full well believe in the foreknowledge of God. No Calvinist denies this, so the intended slander is noted.

For the record, the man whom we just bought property from, whom we just talked to suddenly died in front of his wife. They live in front of where we are building.

My apologies for my lapse, probably a bit distracted, and I own my mistake.

Nevertheless you always get at least one person filled with malice, disdain and discord who will go on the attack.

Who can tell me the difference between positional sanctification, and conditional sanctification? I do believe both types are mentioned in scripture?
I can.....a person who has trusted into Christ is positionally sanctified in Christ forever whereas our fellowship and walk with Christ in the Light is conditional upon being in the light where he is and is a daily process based upon faithfulness.......!!

Allow me, with apologies, to edit this since I've been hit with intentional slander for missing "foreknew" here. :)

No Christian is complete until we stand before Jesus.

The golden chain of redemption includes all phases to the believer as accomplished;

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. - Romans 8:29-30

But let's be careful here in saying this is not complete (though I get what you mean but wish to clarify). It is complete, but the believer has not yet personally experienced this in eternity.

"Glorified"
here is in the active voice, meaning the one stating this has already accomplished this. God has already completed this action - it cannot be undone. Furthermore, the foreknowing, the predestining, the calling, the justifying, the glorification -- each of these terms are in the same exact tense. The preceding context goes on to show the impossibility of these things being undone. It is as impossible for a person to lose His salvation as it is for God's Word to lie.

Good question, followed by good points. You have some examples in scripture of this: Luke 15

Are these examples applicable to believer that falls away? Possibly, I think that could apply. But Jesus is speaking of those that are already in the fold, and bringing them back into the fold.

So why would Jesus only concern Himself with only the saved > lost? Because we are ALL not saved at some point.

What I understand from what you are saying is Jesus came to save then look for those that are lost? that doesn't make much sense when we are all born into sin, lost, without the Holy Spirit.

Those that do not believe, are surely lost.

I could be misunderstanding what you are trying to say. I am tired :)
The lost are not the unbelieving, are they?

Has anyone here ever said that ALL will come to repentance? I have not seen it if they did, so I am not sure why you say that. Jesus did not chase after anybody. He walked and taught and preached continually for what is believed to be approximately three years, though (not counting His short stint as a teen), to any and all who would listen, including the Pharisees and Sadducee, whom He engaged often. Nor does listening automatically imply accepting. He was rejected and despised and held in low esteem by quite a few, and still is, for the natural man does not accept the Spiritual things of God, for they consider the things of God foolishness.

You are getting challenged and now getting spiritual....

So we could say that being Justified and positional sanctification are a result of being in Christ, and are one time events,

where as conditional sanctification will have hills and valleys, and maybe periods of no advance or decline, but is an ongoing condition which will continue until we die and are resurrected?
