Same question, what have you done today - besides complaining
Social media is a major tool in todays society. I have many contacts on social media that i spread the word to daily, Repentance accepting Christ etc. . Some in which dont have Christ in their lives. What have you done today?

I have seen no one in this thread come against good works.

But I have seen several come against works FOR salvation.

And rightly so.

When it comes to works "motivation of the heart" is absolutely critical.

Paul says I can do great works and miracles, but if I have not love I am and I gain nothing.

I submit to you, if you are doing works to try to add to God's work, is it done freely out of love?

And like Paul teaches us. I ask you this, if it's not done freely out of love, have you truly gained anything?

Here Jesus explains motivations of the heart effect how the Lord sees our "works":

Matt 6:1“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. 2“Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,4so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Jesus explains to the Pharisees you want the praise of men? You got it, but that's the only reward you'll receive.

The motivation behind our works is what we want to be clear of.

Anything not of faith IS sin. And it is only faith that pleases Him.

So if you're not working out of a place of faith, what are you truly offering to the Lord?

Well now,

I could tell you about my works, then I could say my works are much better than your described works, that is why we should not be talking about our works or asking about someone else's work.

Just a thought.:)

Yep, best not to be categorized via 2 Corinthians 10:12.

It means some believe they do not sin. Some of their sins they classify as "mistakes" lolzzzzzzzzzzzz...

You'll never convince any of them.

Anyhow, the apostle John was quite clear about those who believe they have no sin...

(This teaching is found among some Methodists and Nazarenes)
Thank you. It's ridiculous! Even if we didn't do any intentional sinful acts, we fall short of Gods glory and will just because we are mortal.

I wasn't aware that those branches taught this. Thanks again. :)

Why would you want someone to boast in self and not God?
