[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]2 Thessalonians 2:6-12, "For the mystery of iniquity is already working, but the One restraining him will continue to restrain him, until he is made to appear in the midst. And then that lawless one will be revealed, whom Yahshua will remove with the breath of His mouth, and make powerless with the appearance of His coming-- Whose coming is according to the energy of Satan, who works with all power, and signs, and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of sin in those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. I believe those that follow Yahshua are not in oppisition to His Instructions/Laws/Commands/Torah;

Romans 8:5-8, "For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit, set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against; (bitterly opposed to), YHWH; for it his not subject to the Law of YHWH, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are of the flesh cannot please YHWH."

I want to point out that the words that are in italics* are ADDED, thus changing the meaning of the passage:

Ephesians 2:15-16, (NKJV), "having abolished in His flesh the enmity,*that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. "

Not only does the next verse tell us what was abolished, but when you remove the ADDED words the meaning changes.

Ephesians 2:15-16, "Abolishing the enmity Law, the Commandments, and the Ordinances, through His own flesh, in order to create in Himself one new man from the two; making peace, That would reconcile both in one body to YHWH through the sacrifice--having killed the enmity through Himself."

Strong's Concordance, “enmity” is word #G2189 echthra: enmity, hostility, Original Word: ἔχθρα, ας, ἡ, Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine, Transliteration: echthra, Phonetic Spelling: (ekh'-thrah), Short Definition: enmity, hostility, Definition: enmity, hostility, alienation.

Thayer's (New Testament Greek-English Lexicon) Feminine of G2190; hostility; by implication a reason for opposition:—enmity, hatred.

The opposition to YHWH's Law abolished, not the Law it's self.

Hebrews 10:16, "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says YHWH: I will put My Law into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them.”

DC is this true:

Romans 2:12, “For as many as have sinned without the Law, will also perish without the Law, and as many as have sinned in the Law, will be judged by the Law.”

Well that is just not true and is disregarding all the scripture about what Jesus and the Apostles taught about the Sabbath commandment not to mention Hebrew Chapter 4 you may have forgotten about. Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the Lord's name is vain is not re-iterated in the NT does that mean we can not use God's name in vain?

You provide no scripture that says the 4th commandment (Exodus 20:8-11) has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day. This is because Sunday Worship is a teaching and tradition of man breaking the commandments of God as it is written......

Matthew 15:3-9
3, But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4, For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death. 5, But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou might be profited by me; 6, And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7, Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8, This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Sunday Worship is a teaching and tradition of Man that breaks the commandment of God and God's Word tells us that if we are following the traditions of man over the Word of God we are not following God....

Who should we obey God or man?

He that says I know him and keeps not his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him... God's Sheep hear His voice.
Do you celebrate FIRST FRUITS?

The SABBATH COMMAND, Never applied to NEW COVENANT.

Exodus 31:12-17 (HCSB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] The LORD said to Moses:
[SUP]13 [/SUP] “Tell the Israelites: You must observe My Sabbaths, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, so that you will know that I am Yahweh who sets you apart.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Observe the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Whoever profanes it must be put to death. If anyone does work on it, that person must be cut off from his people.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] Work may be done for six days, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, dedicated to the LORD. Anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] The Israelites must observe the Sabbath, celebrating it throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] It is a sign forever between Me and the Israelites, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, but on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.”

HEBREWS
4:9 The preceding verses have been leading up to this conclusion: There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. Here the writer uses a different Greek word for rest ([FONT=&quot]sabbatismos[/FONT]), which is related to the word Sabbath. It refers to the eternal rest which will be enjoyed by all who have been redeemed by the precious blood of Christ.

4:10 Whoever enters God's rest enjoys a cessation from labor, just as God did on the seventh day.
Before we were saved, we may have tried to work for our salvation. When we realized that Christ had finished the work at Calvary, we abandoned our own worthless efforts and trusted the risen Redeemer.

After salvation, we expend ourselves in loving toil for the One who loved us and gave Himself for us. Our good works are the fruit of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We are often weary in His service, though not weary of it.
In God's eternal rest, we shall cease from our labors down here. This does not mean that we will be inactive in heaven. We shall still worship and serve Him, but there will be no fatigue, distress, persecution, or affliction.
4:11 The previous verses demonstrate that God's rest is still available. This verse says that diligence is necessary in order to enter that rest. We must be diligent to make sure that our only hope is Christ the Lord. We must diligently resist any temptation merely to profess faith in Him and then to renounce Him in the heat of suffering and persecution.

Friend,

You do not need to justify yourself to me. I judge no man because it is written; If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

There is no legalism in having faith in God's Word to save you from your sins. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. When one has faith to love through the power of the one who makes us free to love then love is the fulfilling of God's Law in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit....

Praise GOD and our Lord and Saviour.

In Spirit and Truth for the Glory of GOD.

The righteousness without the law <--imputed by faith

Oh foolish Galatians....having begun in the spirit (faith) are you now made perfect by the flesh (works of the law)

NOPE..........

Stop trying to equate verses used to Teach the New Testament in place of the Old as teaching against GOD's Law.. the Messiah teaches and instructs us through His Testament for He knows the will of His Father and as our High Priest we are to believe Him.

Through belief GOD's Power Keeps us and we walk in the light as Children of GOD.

Faith in Him and his works perfect our Faith.. because those that Love Him Keep His Commands.. Faith that worketh by love..

The works of the law are part of the Old Covenant.. and perfect by flesh does not mean obedience to GOD's Law because the flesh is at enmity with the Law of GOD.. hence why a believer is born again of the Holy Spirit that comes by hearing of Faith.. to think that Paul was saying who bewitched to Keep GOD's Law... would of been no different to the serpent beguiling them to disobey.. but Paul is certainly not saying that and any who believe He is is in unbelief...

If you don't believe the Messiah taught us to Keep the Commandments and be perfect and Righteous even to warn us to cut off our hand rather than all the body be destroyed because of sin... then you need to go find the Words you are to believe that give Everlasting life..

To be Forgiven and Reconciled is to desire to sin no more.. that is the purpose of the New Covenant for us to Love GOD and obey Him knowing whatever He tells us to do we should believe.

If you don't read and believe the warnings given to the churches in Revelation and moved by those words then there is something amiss.

If you don't read and believe the warnings given to the churches in Revelation and moved by those words then there is something amiss.
This is something that simply implies who is being listened to and who is not.

"Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Those who do not have ears, are obviously neither listening to the Spirit or
understand what Christ is saying.

As a light we stand, but we cannot change the reasons why people neither
hear nor see. I used to think it was a question of argument, or understanding, but
here on cc, it is clear it is much more profound.

C S Lewis in the books of Narnia put it that everything is there they just cannot
see it. It should not discourage us but declare to our hearts how great is the
revelation Christ has poured into our hearts.

I notice something similar when people get caught up in racism.
Being different is a reality, life has lots of things that could be used in a bad way
or not, if you see everything as if it is meant in a bad way, you will see racism everywhere,
but if you only see it where it really exists, you suddenly see the nuances and subtlety of
communication and expression.

When people are consumed with hatred and bitterness about something, it blinds them, and
everything else is seen in the light of this rage. They talk about us having rage, and anger,
except it is their own, which they read into everything.

Jesus said if we have a pure heart we will see God. No kidding.

It also makes sense their response is to stirr others up into anger, because that is what they
are constantly feeling and assume it is from others, not themselves. No wonder their way is
full of such provocative language and strong feelings.

Some have to leave cc because of the storms of rage that consume them. Very telling.

Do you celebrate FIRST FRUITS? The SABBATH COMMAND, Never applied to NEW COVENANT.
Well that is not true at all. Where does is say in the New Covenant God's Sabbath commandment is ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday Holy? Seems in your view Jesus and the Apostles wasted a lot of time teaching us about the Sabbath.
Who are God's Israel in your view? You do know the New Covenant is for the people of Israel right?

Jeremiah 31:33-34

33, But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34, And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Repeated in the New Testament.....

Hebrews 8:10-12
10, For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts:5 and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11, And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12, For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
If you are not a part of God's Israel (not the nation) as defined in the Word of God the New Covenant is not for you....

Sunday Worship is a teaching and tradition that breaks the commandment of God. The Word of God says if you are following the traditions and teachings of man you are not following God and indeed not a part of God's Israel.....

Who should we obey God or man?

1Joh 2v4 - He that says 'I know him and keeps not his Commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. Are you going to argue with scripture as you do with me ?

I hope the Holy Spirit you claim to have in you will lead you into obedience to the one who is author of salvation Heb5v9. God bless you Dan, God wants us all to be ONE with Him.
The commandments here are not the 10 commandments.

The 10 commandments are the letter of the law that condemns:

"He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant — not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills...the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone...the ministry that condemns" (2 Corinthians 3:6-9) I do not argue with scripture, but you do in regards to keeping the Sabbath day (Colossians 2:16-17).

BTY the word "keep" does not mean sinless, perfect obedience to His commandments. Is that what you are trusting in as the basis for receiving eternal life? Perfectly obeying ALL of His commandments? If so, I have bad news for you (Romans 3:23; 6:23; Romans 3:22-28).

I received the Holy Spirit several years ago when I BELIEVED ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and was saved (Acts 16:31) just as these Gentiles did in Acts 11:17. We are sealed IN HIM with the Holy Spirit of promise when we BELIEVE the Gospel (Ephesians 1:13).

The Gospel is a message of grace to be received through faith. The Gospel is not a set of rituals to perform, a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation.

The Gospel simply sets forth Christ crucified, buried and risen (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16). We obey the Gospel by choosing to believe/trust in Christ's finished work of redemption as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation.

So in Hebrews 5:9, who obeys Him? The saved or the lost? *Only believers have obeyed Him by choosing to believe the gospel (Romans 1:16) in order to become saved, and only believers obey Him after they have been saved through faith by keeping His commandments and practicing righteousness (1 John 2:3; 3:9,10). In either sense, only believers obey Him.

Unbelievers have not obeyed Him by refusing to believe the gospel (Romans 10:16) and without faith its impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), so unbelievers do not obey Him no matter how much "so called" obedience that they attempt to conjure up through the flesh in a vain effort to receive salvation by works. So in either sense, unbelievers do not obey Him.

1 Yahanan /John 2:3-7, “And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commands. The one who says, “I know Him,” and does not guard His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever guards His Word, truly the love of Yah has been perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. The one who says he stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked. Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.”

Psalm 119:44-45, "That I might guard Your Law continually, Forever and ever; That I might walk in liberty, For I have sought Your orders;"

James 1:22-25, “And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror, for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like. But he that looked into the perfect Law of liberty, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Law.”

James 2:8-12, “If you truly accomplish the sovereign Law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself, (Lev 19:18) you do well, but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being found guilty by the Law as transgressors. For whoever shall guard all the Law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” (Exo 20:14) also said, “Do not murder.” (Exo 20:13) Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of Law. So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by the Law of liberty.”

Mat 22:37-40, "Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (Deut 6:5) This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Lev 19:18) On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Hello MMD

Do you know the difference between the ceremonial and Levitical laws of Moses which were Shadows of things to come pointing to Jesus and God's Law (10 commandments) which is forever and what their purposes are?
Yes I do know the difference. Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. So why are you so obsessed with the 10 commandments? You have not perfectly obeyed all 10 commandments and that is not the plan of salvation either.

I am asking because most of the scriptures you quote refer to the annual feast, others have no relevance to the Sabbath and some refer to the civil laws of Israel which ceased at the Roman occupation and the death of Christ and the beginning of the NC.
When God wanted to refer to the whole system of Jewish holy days, rather than name all them, He would refer to the yearly, monthly and weekly as representing the whole system. Sabbatarians argue that the Sabbath Day of Colossians 2:16 is the years Sabbaths. But yearly Sabbaths were already referred to in Colossians 2:16 as "festivals". The "Year, Month, Week" pattern is well established in the Old Testament, that Colossians 2:16 must refer to the weekly Sabbath. Even Galatians 4:10, following this pattern, states the weekly Sabbath.

Also, who according to God's Word is Israel in your view?
The nation of Israel, the Jews, which is obvious from these OT passages of Scripture that I quoted.

Also in your view are we free to steal, lie and commit adultery or break any other of God's commandment, according to your Church's teachings? If not why are you now free to break God's 4th commandment which is to Remember the Sabbath day to keep it Holy?
Straw man argument. Obviously, we are not free to steal, lie and commit adultery or break any other of God's commandments under the New Covenant.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - James 5:12
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 John 3:15
7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3

In your church's teaching, is man saved through perfectly obeying ALL ten commandments (with a heavy emphasis of keeping the Sabbath?) Is that the "different" gospel you are peddling? So as a non-Jew not under the law, please explain to me exactly how you keep the Sabbath day with all it's rules and regulations (Exodus 16:23; 31:12-18; 35:3; Leviticus 23:32; Jeremiah 17:21; 19:30; 23:2-3; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13).

Also where in all of God's Word does it command us that God's 4th commandment has been abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday Holy in place of God's Sabbath commandment that Jesus and the apostles followed because they love God?
Colossians 2:16-17 tells us that the Sabbath day is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant. You can try to twist the meaning of Colossians 2:16-17 to teach otherwise, just as SDA's do, but it's in vain. You seem to miss the significance of the first day of the week (Sunday) in the New Testament for the Church.

Jesus rose on the first day of the week not the Sabbath - Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:9. All 6 appearances of Jesus happen on two Sundays, none on Sabbath - Mark 16:9; Matthew 28:5-9; Luke 24:13-15; 24-34 24:33,36; John 20:19, 26. Christians are recorded assembling three times on Sunday after resurrection and before ascension, never on the Sabbath - John 20:19; 20:26 Acts 2:1.

The only time Christians are recorded to have assembled together was on a Sunday in Acts 20:7, never does it say the disciples assembled on the Sabbath. The only day ever mentioned when Christians broke bread was on Sunday - Acts 20:7. Christians are commanded every Sunday to give into a common treasury of the church - 1 Corinthians 16:1-2. The church officially began on Pentecost Sunday - Acts 2:1.

Jesus was crowned king on a Sunday - Acts 2:33-36. The disciples reception of the promise of the Father on Sunday - Acts 1:4-5; 2:1-4. The Holy Spirit first fell upon the apostles on a Sunday - Acts 2:1-4. The great "Triumphal entry" (also called Palm Sunday) happened on the first day - Luke 13:32. The time between the Lord's resurrection (sheaf waving day) and Pentecost was Sunday to Sunday counting of 50 days.

The starting and stopping time was on the 1st day. First time Jesus worshiped after resurrection was on the first day by Thomas (John 20:26). The first time Jesus had communion after his resurrection with His disciples, was on a Sunday - Luke 24:1, 13, 28-35. Pentecost was a Sunday - Sunday duration of 50 days. The starting point and stopping point of counting the 50 days was a Sunday - Sunday period!

While the Sabbath was significant to the Jews under the law, there is no significance of the Sabbath in connection with the Church under the New Covenant.

Do you know how the Sabbath commandment was changed from Saturday to Sunday and who officially changed it?
Let me guess, the Roman Catholic church? I hear this all the time from SDA's. I didn't change it. My church did not change it and the Sabbath commandment with all it's rules and regulations was part of a covenant with Israel that is not applicable to Christians under the New Covenant (Colossians 2:16-17).

I am looking forward to talking scripture with you my friend. Waiting for your replies.

Look forward to your reply. Please lets talk scripture.......
I have talked scripture with you before, but unfortunately, you continue to twist the scriptures and the result is an unholy mixture of law and grace and a "different" gospel.

You raise a lot of important points but most are out of date....referring to OT practices.
Look at Jesus and the Apostles....did they continue with them and teach people to do them ? Yashua/Jesus introduced a whole new system of worship which is to apply to Jew and Gentile alike ...there is no difference in Christ !!!
I know you did not change the sabbath day but you fight for sunday as if it were God-given....that can't be right. Rejecting HOLY time with a HOLY God will have disastrous results....as scripture warns.

As already said...we now obey IN LOVE...not by command...does not mean not to obey !
So when was this new system of worship that applies to Jew and Gentile alike fully established? You need to be careful not to intermingle the old and new covenant. Jesus rose from the dead on Sunday. Praise God! That is very significant to me. I find it strange that you put so much significance on keeping the Sabbath day which is a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ (Colossians 2:16-17).

I never said that we are not to obey, yet turning keeping the Sabbath day (which part of a covenant with Israel that is not applicable to Christians under the New Covenant) into a legalistic prescription for Christians under the New Covenant is not obeying Christ and leads to disastrous results, as we have seen from such cults as the SDA church.

But here you are demanding people do it on Sunday. That is the whole hypocrisy that phart just exposed.
Straw man argument. I am not demanding that people "must" keep the Sabbath on Sunday (or else!) like the SDA church teaches about Saturday. I attend church on Sunday, but I worship God 7 days a week. I don't get caught up in legalistic prescriptions, like Sabbatarians do.

If they were never saved how were they able to do anything in His name? You must have the Holy Spirit in order for Him to manifest His power
Jesus said these signs will follow them that believe. Him knowing in this case is relationship, He knows everyone. He didn't just never know them. It's obviously deeper

They were confused because they took the power as a sign or confirmation of their salvation. Living in unrepentant sin, disqualified them.

I know many will disagree how? They believed in a Jesus, not The Jesus. Idols are easily formed. He's a king not just a brother

1st. Jesus never said they did anything in his name, They used the excuse they did them in his name
2nd, Your right, they could do nothing in his name, all they could do is practice unrighteousness.
3rd. What did Jesus say? Depart from me, You who practice unrighteousness.

it all fits, if you just look

The church in Acts met daily.....this argument for which day is moot and I am not under the law...the 7th day Sabbath does not apply to assembly capacity worship...end of story!
Amen, Saturday is a day of rest, always has been. If we decide to worship on whatever day of the week it is, it has NOTHING to do with the Sabbath

It's actually the word almost verbatim. In Acts 5:32
How good is good enough. According to the law. How much obedience was required? If you get confused or are not sure. Moses tells us how much in Deuteronomy, and Paul quotes him in Galations. That should help.
