Okay, I think this is where some disagree with you. I believe that salvation is based upon having faith in Jesus. That's how we get saved. :) I also believe that we do need to repent our sins and confess them to God. So on that point, I agree with you.
I disagree that we lose salvation if we don't keep constant faith in God. People stray away from God every day, and many eventually find their way back to Him. So if we lose salvation over misplacing faith for awhile, that would mean we would need to get saved time and time again. And that's not true. Jesus died ONCE for our salvation. It's a once and for all time gift. Otherwise, Jesus would have to die on the cross for us every single day...

I also disagree that we need to do good works for the purpose of keeping salvation. We are asked to do good works to others, to show that we love them, and that through us, that JESUS loves them. But even if we don't do many good works, we still will not lose our salvation.

Our salvation is based upon repentance, confession and faith in Christ through the cross.

To keep salvation, or fellowship with Christ you must keep faith in Him.

Works are the fruit of the work of Christ in our hearts.
We loose salvation because we loose faith in Christ

To believe in Christ is to become one with Him in heart, mind and soul.
As Christ would help the needy, so will we, as Christ is stirred to show love
and care so do we.

You cannot separate knowing Christ from the love He brings to our hears
and its effects. You do not prove you know Christ, because you know
Christ these things will happen. Believe and experience it.

Isn't much love anywhere in THIS forum... Don't know why I bother coming in here. It's the most hate-filled, evil, contentious forum I've ever seen..
It's a bit funny...but not humorous...that I think it's probably one of the best on 'net.

Amen to that!

Vacillating | Define Vacillating at Dictionary.com

vacillating
[vas-uh-ley-ting]
adjective
not resolute; wavering; indecisive; hesitating:
an ineffectual, vacillating person.
oscillating; swaying; fluctuating:
a vacillating indicator.

Is that a bad thing?

Maybe God is working on their hearts that they may repentant and turn to Him and His truth?
MAYBE.....but you have to be OPEN to learning and instruction.....

I've been trying to figure them out for over a year now. I think he is pushing sinless perfectionism and works based salvation (in the sense of maintaining it), as if God has failed in his promises.

blue - In all humbleness I want people to show me my errors. Just stating a point of
view is not a discussion or a point. I am here to learn as much as anybody, but emotional
bias and hurt pasts make a very bad guidance to theology or faith.

Jesus has a simple theology.
You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
Matt 7:5

The plank in our own eyes is our own sin and impurity.
Purify ourselves through repentance, confession and seeking the Lord.
Forgiving others and holding nothing back is a key place.

When we find the place of purity, then we can see the Lord and start to
see others as they actually are and not what we think are the issues.

Now this is not a belief approach, this is a spiritual reality, if you want to live
in the Kingdom start to be like a child of God and get right with God.
I think the problem really is how you see God Peter...this is affecting your understanding of by grace through faith. Those last two lines show your heart attitude about him. It's not your fault...but the enemy of your soul has painted a picture for you and the Lord just wants to love you.

Look at the NT church,, That is one thing which proves to me God is real and his salvation is real. Because it is attacked so much. Mostly by other people who call themselves christian.
The sad truth of this statement is....ALMOST to a MAN....everyone I know that, pastors and preaches the truth, will say that the majority of their problems ,and the problems in the churches that they pastor come from those who claim belief....rarely from lost men and or the outside....NOW THAT IS TRAGIC.....

There is no such thing as sinless perfectionism. Otherwise we would be immortals in a fallen world..

Do you guys understand the idea of language which links emotions?

That rock band really made me move. That song lept out at me and it was like
I was in the room expressing my soul.

This is language that links a description with a feeling. Now if you feel the feeling
you will know what I mean, if you do not experience it, it is just words.

So when I say Christ and love, if they are linked in your heart and the two echo
together we understand each other, if not, they are just two words.

Faith. Do I know any of you? Not really. Now my son who I trust, if he phoned
up with a request I would be there straight away. He has faith in me. He knows
I will respond. Faith is an understanding and a level where you know what can be
asked and what cannot be asked. So Faith in Christ is not just He is God, it is a whole
bounding of love, trust, knowledge, balance, worthiness, movement, truth.

I could go onto explain what these words mean to me, there depth and effect.
I begin to see why the words at different stages in our walk mean very different things
and some few words mean the world, but other times appear empty.

In the film avatar they tried to convey intimacy with the words
"I see you" It takes time to see Christ, and the Father, to grasp their hearts, the
breadth of their ambition in us, their people. For me to even speak like this seems
unusual, because I feel very privileged. He is a glorious King.

One thing that struck me is 3,400 years ago the Lord gave the Law to Moses.
Nothing in this world has ever been created like it, or was there before, and its
wisdom still speaks to us. What a King and Lord we follow.

you "like"d so it's all good.

Just wanted you to acknowledge my brillance and cuddle worthiness. :)

And the answer to the question my husband would interject (you think your cute,..) why yes, yes, I do....don't think I am. I know I am...better than the little train that could. I go Jesus so it's not that "I think I can" it's "I know HE WILL" save me.

Well said...and there are lies that have been told about our Father's true nature to all of us.

We need to give Peterjens some slack and bless him and pray for him that the Father would grant unto him a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of our Lord. That he would be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit in the inner man so that he would know that Christ dwells in His heart by faith.

That Jesus has made him righteous and acceptable and he is qualified for every promise because he is in Christ. Jesus will never leave him nor forsake him. God loves him unconditionally and Peterjens is His absolute favorite child and will treat him as such.
