L...,

Many folks who have opposing conclusion are so insecure in that thinking that they attack other view points ...in defense thereby, loosing common sense perspective.

We see it here ...many times.
If you were standing at the gates of heaven right now and Jesus Christ asked you why He should let you into heaven, what would be your EXACT answer?

Name calling, and belittling is not love.
Tell that to Jesus when you stand before him

White washed coffins filled with the bones of dead men
Hypocrites
Blind leaders of the blind
Their father the devil
etc.....

And John
Generation of vipers
Snakes
The above misses Jesus's meaning.
A dead heart has no love, no care, no reaching out and ministering grace to others.

So when Jesus is describing the teachers of the law He is describing their reality.
If a believer expresses love and care for God and for others, they are not part
of this group.

So if ones theology does not deal with purification of the heart, sensitivity of
ones heart to needs, service and keeping ones conscience clean, the danger is
one is actually part of what Jesus is describing.

Grace and peace to you

Amen, We do not just ignore people who do nto believe as we do. It is people who have agendas and continue to lie and slander others and continue to pull the same nonsense. They have no desire to discuss the word. They just wish to push their word on you, and make you someone you are not.

And let me add that they enter in to discussions only to divide.

Peter, you have no concept of what justification is all about.

Where's the ANSWER accdg to 1 peter 3:16-17? See my point? You just like to provoke people to argue and respond as you do. Who's image does that portray? Or maybe you just want to make a Guiness record for whatsoever reason, just maybe for the wrong intentions.

John 12:42-50 Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not confess their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; FOR THEY LOVE PRAISE FROM MEN MORE THAN PRAISE FROM GOD. Then Jesus cried out, “When a man believes in me, he does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me. When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. “As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one WHO REJECTS ME and does not accept my words; THAT VERY WORD which I spoke WILL CONDEMN HIM at the last day. For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

Mark 7:6-13 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’ You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.” And he said to them: “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: ‘Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God), then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother. Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

Galatians 6:7-10 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The answer is...it pleased God by the foolish of preachi g to save them that believe....NO WORKS ATTACHED

Most could not deal with Jesus, Paul, John the Immerser and or Elijah.....especially the workers for and sinless perfectionists.....

He might be vexed, because some of us do not believe that 1 John 2.19 is written to give us permission to use that verse as a bully billy club to to claim someone who they thought was saved was never, ever really saved to begin with......

I believe personally, it is spiritually, emotionally and intellectually dishonest of any saint to use 1 John 2.19 apologetically as a proof test of salvation or no salvation...I say this because the context of 1 John 2.19 having anything to do with who is saved or not saved, salvation, losing salvation and salvation in general simply is not there....

I say this same thing about 1 John 4.1-4...Please do not get on a prayer line or altar counseling and ask someone if they believe Jesus came in the flesh as a test to see if they are demonized or not...

I view 1 John 2.19 and most of 1 John as a warning letter, teaching me how to discern against false teachers with a spirit of antichrist....and most of it it tells me that those such people are not believers and are never going to be believers and has zero to do with testing salvation of people...

That is why I fight people on 1 John 2.19...I have seen first hand how many people have been broken by someone claiming they were never really saved to begin with.....and use that verse to justify their judgement....not discernment...big difference in the two...

><>_t_<><

Now I cannot agree with you, even though I agree with most of it, because you seemed to have CROSSED your own Code of Conduct by hurling that bully billy club insult.

Now how do you make the scripture square with these verses:

Jude 1:3-4 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Now on this OPEN FORUM, we run into those that fit into that category, fairly frequently. So how do you propose to be faithful to those verses, without crossing the line?

Since we are on this Scripture, I have a question about this following verse, even though it is off subject:

1 John 4:2 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that
Jesus <G2424> Christ <G5547> has come <G2064> in the flesh <G4561>
is from God <G2316>;

Now the Greek Numbers are from New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible. So my question, is the "FROM" supposed to be there, or NOT. The "IS", if I remember right, can be implied, but not the FROM. The KJV was a PARAPHRASE from earlier English Translations WITH KNOWN ERRORS. {The 1611 Translation Team Admitted IT, in their Orignal 1611 PREFACE. Preface to the King James Version 1611, Part 10 of 10 "[FONT=&quot]Truly (good Christian Reader) we never thought from the beginning, that we should need to make a new Trans- lation, nor yet to make of a bad one a good one, . . . but to make a good one better, or out of many good ones, one principal good one, not justly to be excepted against; that hath been our endeavor, that our mark." [/FONT]}, that is a Paraphrase. SO, was the insert of FROM an undetected ERROR, which should be in ITALICS, OR did the New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible forget a Word?

What difference does it make? Because it would make more since if it says: "Jesus Christ is GOD." Then it would become parallel verse to these verses:

2 Corinthians 5:19 (NASB)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

John 1:1-2 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] He was in the beginning with God. John 1:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Colossians 2:9 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
Colossians 1:19-20 (NRSV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
[SUP]20 [/SUP] and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.

Here is that New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible so you can see, it has no from connected to THEOS. Now unfortunately, I do not read GREEK, so the question remains, who made the error, an Itlalics error for the 1611 KJV, or a dictionary word left out the word from the New American Standard Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible?

Greek NASB Number: 2316

I am but your humble servant I shall not deny that at times I have sinned,I am only saved because I accepted you as Saviour thereby accepting the Holy spirit, whom I haved strived to let guide me I do feel "unworthy" but I stand before you "humble" and "with out boasting" for a servant is not above his master,I have trusted you with my salvation, and my life,do with me what ye will.

The odd thing about the above reality, is those who deny ones heart reality,
they will not say, Amen I am cleansed by the living God, but simply deny
anything spoken has any value.

This is why I conclude sadly what Jesus said is true, only the pure in heart
will see God. It is not more complicated than this, except for those who have
sin they simply refuse to resolve by their own will and stubborness.

Now one may ask, why? Because the heart to its last breadth will fight for its
right to choose and hold on to pride and self sufficiency, even though this is totally
self defeating. I know this because I had a heart like this, until I submitted to the
Lord and bowed my knee and became a servant to the King.

I would say because you loved me enough to shed your blood and die on the cross and were raised up on the third day so that all who believe in the name of Jesus shall be saved.

What do you mean by "exercise" isn't it to practice and not just say and claim or just a lip service? Do you preach about a genuine saving Faith without doing anything? Is preaching not a work? Assuming that Faith alone saves, can a person have Faith and be saved without someone preaching to them the Gospel of salvation?

If you are a preacher, can you say that you are not doing a work? If it is so then what are you doing? Is preaching the Gospel of our salvation irrelevant or unnecessary to our salvation? Does it embellish or add anything to your Faith ALONE doctrine?

dcon’s reply;

Take 1 second and actually think about and ponder what this thread is about.....serious.....it is about HOW ONE IS SAVED not WHAT THEY DO AFTER THEY ARE SAVED.....it IS FAITH ALONE THAT SAVES.....end of story........!

ElAmor

If “ Faith ALONE" saves, can one have faith without hearing the message? The verses below proves that a work is needed and essential to salvation….PREACHING.

It is not of ourselves that we may not boast.( ephesians 2:8-9 ) A Faith that works in Love.( galatians 5:6 ) A “selfless LOVE" that thinks about the welfare and SALVATION OF OTHERS and not just his own interests.( philippians 2:3-4, 1 john 3:16-18 )

Romans 10:14-17 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM? And how can they preach UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Consequently, FAITH COMES FROM HEARING THE MESSAGE, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

2 John 1:4-11 It has given me great joy to find some of your children WALKING IN THE TRUTH, just as the Father COMMANDED US. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had FROM THE BEGINNING. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE. Many DECEIVERS, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as COMING IN THE FLESH, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the DECEIVER and the ANTICHRIST. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who RUNS AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE in the TEACHING OF CHRIST does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him SHARES IN HIS WICKED WORK.

Who are those RUNNING AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE IN THE TEACHING OF CHRIST?

They are those who CLAIM SALVATION is by Faith ALONE and ONCE SAVED they are ALWAYS SAVED therefore rejecting God’s Laws and commands which are in fact God’s own words, who says that even obedience to God cannot save anyone because they are works and Faith ALONE saves.

Who then is the deceiver and the ANTICHRIST?

They are those who do not continue in the teaching about WALKING IN LOVE which is WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. Who do not acknowledge Jesus as coming in the flesh by the mere fact that they reject the LAW that prophesied about Jesus as coming in the flesh.

1 John 2:1-6 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. THE MAN WHO SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” BUT DOES NOT DO WHAT HE COMMANDS IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him MUST WALK AS JESUS DID.

Thanks for a wonderful and honest answer. A lot just liked your answer so it seems they benefitted from it.

Just posted it again for your convenience.

So as I understand your answer, you are implying that as a preacher you are doing no work because preaching is not a work and that you don't believe the verse that says;

Romans 10:14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And HOW CAN THEY BELIEVE in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM?

Do you reject this or there is this "CONTEXT" that you and NNM know so well that a lot do not understand that you can share with us? just clarifying.

will you reject the context of verses again if they are explained to you again?

at this point it clearly seems like a waste of time

its like verbally explaining colors to a blind, deaf and seemingly drunk man....

do you
or do you not think salvation is by grace through faith and not by works?

we have clearly explained that good works will come as a result of the Holy spirit already in a born again (saved already) believer

these do not keep
maintain or earn salvation on any level

35Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him,*Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

36He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37And Jesus said unto him,*Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

38And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

39And Jesus said,*For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.

40And*some*of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

41Jesus said unto them,*If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

john 10

1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

6This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

7Then said Jesus unto them again,*Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Romans 3:24-26
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
