I was reading Romans last night before I turned out the light and when I read Paul saying the good news tells us all about how God makes us right with Himself and from start to finish, it is all accomplished by trust (faith).

So I fell asleep wondering why it took me so long to understand the verse. Why did I struggle so bad at trying to be good for so long before I could rest? And I was still His through all of that. He communed with me very often.

When I finally really, really understood it, I then became frightened that I'd forget it and get tangled again. I didn't want to lose my rest because I'd exhausted myself so bad for so many years.
thats awesome that you finally saw the truth !!
I love Romans , my fav book !

Yeah, Romans is amazing!
I think I wanted to make a point with those two posts and didn't succeed. I was still your sister when I didn't have the full understanding and believed some was up to me and my efforts. I believed it having already received my new birth. So perfect doctrine doesn't show who my sister is.

Well , if you had believed the Gospel and trusted Christ you were saved !!!
sounds like you were maybe just confused between salvation & your Christian walk ?
I was too for a while .

Most bore with me through it in here. Some were abusive and nasty, but most were kind.
Then again, I wasn't abusive or nasty with them either.

oh boy , once again you twist what I said

I DID NOT say if you walk in his ways you are adding to the Gospel
I said if you ADD that as a condition of receiving the Free Gift of Salvation , your adding to the Gospel

Hi Ijs,

I am sorry, this does not make any sense to me.
Someone receives Jesus. Jesus is the Messiah, Lord of Creation, through whom all
things were made that were made. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
the end. He cleanses and purifies the believer, He heals the broken hearted, He sets
the prisoner free, yet if you say, if someone has Him in their life, nothing will change,
it will be as if nothing has happened.

Really? So a sinner will continuing sinning, an addict will continue being addicted,
a blasphemer will continue blaspheming, an sexual immoral person will continue being
sexually immoral, a liar will continue lying, a murderer will continue murdering and there
is no problem with this?

But does not scripture declare none such as these will be saved?
Does not scripture declare we are to walk without spot or blemish?

Or is it Jesus is who God sees, so the rest does not matter?
Is that what you are saying?

Is this your view of the gospel of grace? It does not have an effect on man but
it has an effect on God, and He is the one converted to seeing things differently.

Now that does make sense........

Here again we have slander, I am sorry, But since we have already been discussing things here, I must call this out.

LJS has never said a person who has been saved will never change, or that it will be as nothign ever happened. NO ONE IN CC since I have been here has ever said this.

Get over yourself man, Your slander of others will not help your case, Will not make you more righteous, Will do nothing but expose you as to who you really are.

You can call me stupid all you want, a person who comntinually has to lie about others is the one who is stupid.

How would you share the Gospel with someone ??

A poem for the workers for....

Our works of wonder and works so grand
We plead, push and offer our works to make our stand
The promises, power and might of Christ matters not
Because on our works we stand tonight

The plenteous in number will boast of their works and right to enter based upon said works....tragic day indeed as the "many" who trusted into their wonderful works in the name of Jesus will not make the cut or be allowed in.

Trust Jesus fully by faith for salvation....works do not save, nor will they ever!
Someone a while ago wanted me to point out where you have been dishonest in your post. Well here it is again.
When you make this statement:
"The promises, power and might of Christ matters not
Because on our works we stand tonight"

That is a false statement, meant to deceive, simply because we do not believe such a thing, and I believe you know it, but you continue to use it against me.

So let me say for the record that to me, the promises, power and might of Christ obviously matter. And we cannot stand tonight or any other night on our works only. No amount of works will earn me a place in heaven without the promises and power and might of Christ. They are intricately tied together. My works are dead without Christ, my faith in Christ is dead without works.

That is why they call us Christians because the promises and power and the might of Christ is the centerpiece of our lives.

Actually the words fit you and all people who think they must maintain salvation or it will be lost quite well.

Deny it all you want. It does not make it true.

Notice how you worded it, You say you do not believ on any night we stand on our works. But then you screwed up. You added the word only. In other words. It is not just God and on chrisdt that you stand, you believe you stand on Christ and your works.

Then you said no work will earn you a place in heaven, then again screwed up by saying they will earn you a place in heaven, when they are done with the power and promises and might of christ, and prove it by sayting they are tied together.

You preach faith plus works, you preach grace plus works. The bible does not teach this. And again, DC has you pegged perfectly BECAUSE of the words you added (and I highlighted for you and all to see so you can not deny them)

An inheritance, incorruptible and undefiled, which does not fade away...

1 Peter 1:3-9:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls"
Our inheritance is incorruptible, and undefiled.
Our inheritance does not fade away, and there is a place reserved in heaven for us.
All because we are kept by the power of God through faith.

Faith is the key, you must retain your faith in order for all the following good things to happen to you. Thank you for sharing.

People do not lose faith in a person unbless the person no longer has eanred the persons trust.

What could God ever do to a person to cause them to lose faith? Especially after he adopted them into his family even though we did not deserve or earn it.

Amen, th4e scripture is clear. By the law comes KNOWLEDGE of sin, not understaing of how to overcome sin. In fact apul said when the law came, sin increased, it did not decrease. And scrripture is clear it is the freedom of being in christ, and the knowledge that one has eternal life and is a child who can come boldly to the throne of grace and into his daddy’s (abba father) room without fear that causes us to continue to want to walk with God. Not rules and regulations which burden a people to no end.
Why did Jesus give the law of Moses with its rules and regulations which burden the people to not end?

Maybe your orange kitties stole the coffee.

You can't accuse Stunned unless 2 people have witnessed it.
we have a piebald kitten who is developing a taste for coffee...

the orange one is 'not interested' and thinks the black & white fluff is nuts.

Gal 3: What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one.21 Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

I have heard a member accuse others of being a holocaust denier and say about another that they are stupid.
And the tragic truth....I love the Jewish people, have two grandfathers that liberated 2 of the Nazi death camps and would lay my life down for a Jew.....after all...one laid his life down for me!

We both served our country, And since many jews are part of our country, we gave our lives for many jews. And if we were alive in WW2, we would have offered our lives to save their life back then in europe.

You're right. Dcon DOES have a motive on this thread. :) His motive is to show people that their works DO NOT gain them salvation. His motive is also to point out false teachers and teachings when he sees them. And there are many of those on this entire site.
Amen Blue......100% spot on....
