i examined myself

i had doubt

i didnt care about being correct
or incorrect

i wanted whatever truth GOD provided

if it is that i need to rest salvation on my own shoulders

or if it is that salvation is truely a gift without repentance

i made it brief

i just described 5 years of study sometimes 18 hours a day
followed by
many sleepless nights filled with prayer and tears from my heart and genuine hope that God would show me what HE wanted me to see

but ultimately

God brought me to that point

He called

He provided growth

i stumbled

He provided reproof

i begged for truth

He provided growth

i wouldnt have even cared to seek Him in the first place if He didnt draw me first
Lord, I thank you for having Mr. Mcgee show me the truth in bite sized chunks, and I accept bite-sized chunk truth in humility, amen

when I did look at the acronym OSAS, it did look like the word "oasis", because I never seen that acronym before at that time, it was strange, and I was just making an observation, I wasn't mocking it.

So what types of works and fruits will saved people ALL POSSESS? This is a serious question, not trolling.
  • call on the name of the LORD ((Joel 2:32, Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13))
  • believe in the Son ((Mark 16:16, John 3:36, John 6:47, Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9, etc etc etc etc))

When you say that the true eternally saved believer has already done the work of the Heavenly Father in their act of faith/belief into the FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST. It sounds like our works are done as soon as we believe. It sounds like the finished work of Christ is already done. So if the works is finished and done, it seems like nothing is left to do in order to have EL. Is that what you are saying? If not set me straight?

Thats right , our eternal salvation is secured the moment we believe and trust Christ as our Saviour !!

Take your false, lying accusations someplace else....you would think that for one that peddles a Catholic twist works dogma like you do that you would not lie as much.... I have addressed James 500 times or more in this thread....
I suggest you quit your diatribe and read James 2 and refute his statement about faith without works is dead. Here it is in NIV and the more complete AMPC. Nothing I have seen about what you posted really refutes his clear language. Also you reject Jesus stating we will know them by their fruits (works). Are you calling Jesus a liar? Refute the same claim by Jesus!!!

James 2 NIV

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[d]? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”[e] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

James 2 AMPC

14 What is the use (profit), my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]?
15 If a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day,
16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep [yourself] warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do?
17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).
18 But someone will say [to you then], You [say you] have faith, and I have [good] works. Now you show me your [alleged] faith apart from any [good] works [if you can], and I by [good] works [of obedience] will show you my faith.
19 You believe that God is one; you do well. So do the demons believe and shudder [in terror and horror such as make a man’s hair stand on end and contract the surface of his skin]!
20 Are you willing to be shown [proof], you foolish (unproductive, spiritually deficient) fellow, that faith apart from [good] works is inactive and ineffective and worthless?
21 Was not our forefather Abraham [shown to be] justified (made acceptable to God) by [his] works when he brought to the altar as an offering his [own] son Isaac?
22 You see that [his] faith was cooperating with his works, and [his] faith was completed and reached its supreme expression [when he implemented it] by [good] works.
23 And [so] the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed in (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on) God, and this was accounted to him as righteousness (as conformity to God’s will in thought and deed), and he was called God’s friend.
24 You see that a man is justified (pronounced righteous before God) through what he does and not alone through faith [through works of obedience as well as by what he believes].
25 So also with Rahab the harlot—was she not shown to be justified (pronounced righteous before God) by [good] deeds when she took in the scouts (spies) and sent them away by a different route?
26 For as the human body apart from the spirit is lifeless, so faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead.

Matthew 7 NIV Jesus quoted
True and False Prophets
15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Matthew 7 AMPC
15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves.
16 You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
17 Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit [worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad (worthless) fruit.
18 A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear [ excellent fruit [worthy of admiration].
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
20 Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.

There is your WORKS RIGHTEOUSNESS YET AGAIN. After you said, Who has ever said I will enter heaven on my own merit. Did I ever say that? That is why I am a Christian because I believe it is Jesus that ensures my entrance into heaven, not me. It is by the grace of Jesus Christ that I am saved in the KOG.

Jude 1:21 (HCSB)
21 keep yourselves in the love of God, expecting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life.

1 John 5:12 (NKJV)
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Titus33 3:5-8 (HCSB)
5 He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
8 This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.

Romans 6:23 (ASV)
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
There is a relationship between works and faith. Both James 2 and Matthew 7 quoting Jesus state faith without work is dead. Jesus uses slightly different language but the intent is clearly the same. Read my above post for the verses from the Bible. Works doesn't save but no works means no faith. The concept is if we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus we will generate works.

It is obvious to the casual observer that you are unable to understand plain English and ignore both James 2 and Matthew 7 quoting Jesus. In effect you are calling Jesus a liar.
Salvation plan from the Bible. Refute it.
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
Where is works in that statement??
The issue as stated by James and Jesus is we are known by our fruit (works).
James states faith without works is dead.
Jesus states a tree is known by its fruit. Good fruit doesn't come from a bad tree.

Are you calling Jesus a liar??? That is partly where I get the concept from.
I suggest you read all related scripture. Get an exhaustive systematic theology book in order to read every verse related to any topic. Without that you are tilting at windmills.

Hebrews 9:27-28 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but TO BRING SALVATION to those who are WAITING for him.

Romans 8:24-25 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But IF WE HOPE FOR WHAT WE DO NOT HAVE YET we wait for it patiently.

2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For WHAT IS SEEN IS TEMPORARY, but WHAT IS UNSEEN IS ETERNAL.

THERE ARE SOME ON THIS FORUM WHO CLAIM TO HAVE ALREADY POSSESSED ETERNAL SALVATION. DO THEY NO LONGER WAIT FOR THE LORD TO BRING THEM SALVATION SINCE THEY ALREADY POSSESS IT? ARE THEY NOT GOING TO FACE JUDGMENT ANYMORE?

Philippians 3:12-16 NOT that I have already OBTAINED all this, or have ALREADY BEEN MADE PERFECT, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward THE GOAL to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are MATURE should take such a view of things. And if on some point YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have ALREADY ATTAINED.

1 Peter 1:9 for you are receiving THE GOAL OF YOUR FAITH, the SALVATION of your souls.

SALVATION IS THE GOAL OF THOSE WHO ARE WAITING FOR HIM, THE CHURCH WHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST OF WHICH HE IS THE SAVIOR.

OSAS IS A FALSE MANMADE DOCTRINE THAT NULLIFIES THE WORD OF GOD.

Mark 7:6-13 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’ You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.” And he said to them: “YOU HAVE A FINE WAY OF SETTING ASIDE THE COMMANDS OF GOD in order to observe your own traditions! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: ‘Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God), then YOU NO LONGER LET HIM DO ANYTHING for his father or mother. THUS YOU NULLIFY THE WORD OF GOD by your tradition that you have handed down. AND YOU DO MANY THINGS LIKE THAT.”

JESUS SAID;

“If you love me, you will obey what I command.” john 14:15

…” If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.”matthew 19:17

“ Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.” Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.” john 14:21-24

THIS FALSE MANMADE DOCTRINE TEACHES THAT OBEDIENCE TO GOD IS JUST A WORK THAT MAN CAN DO BUT HAVE NO PART, NEITHER ESSENTIAL NOR NECESSARY FOR SALVATION WHICH CONTRADICTS THE FF:

Hebrews 5:7-9 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of ETERNAL SALVATION FOR ALL WHO OBEY HIM.

A QUOTE FROM ElAmor’s POST

2 John 1:4-11 It has given me great joy to find some of your children WALKING IN THE TRUTH, just as the Father COMMANDED US. And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had FROM THE BEGINNING. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you WALK IN LOVE. Many DECEIVERS, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as COMING IN THE FLESH, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the DECEIVER and the ANTICHRIST. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who RUNS AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE in the TEACHING OF CHRIST does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him SHARES IN HIS WICKED WORK.

Who are those RUNNING AHEAD and DOES NOT CONTINUE IN THE TEACHING OF CHRIST?

They are those who CLAIM SALVATION is by Faith ALONE and ONCE SAVED they are ALWAYS SAVED therefore rejecting God’s Laws and commands which are in fact God’s own words. says that even obedience to God cannot save anyone because they are works and Faith ALONE saves.

Who then is the deceiver and the ANTICHRIST?

They are those who do not continue in the teaching about WALKING IN LOVE which is WALKING IN OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDS. Who do not acknowledge Jesus as coming in the flesh by the mere fact that they reject the LAW that prophesied about Jesus as coming in the flesh.

1 John 2:1-6 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. THE MAN WHO SAYS, “I KNOW HIM,” BUT DOES NOT DO WHAT HE COMMANDS IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him MUST WALK AS JESUS DID.””””””””

WE ARE TO WORK OUT OUR OWN SALVATION NOT AS INDIVIDUALS WORKING FOR HIS OWN SALVATION BUT AS ONE BODY IN CHRIST(eph 4:1-16) WORKING AS GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANTS OF GOD(mat 25:14-30) WHO ARE LIVING ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT AND NOT ACCORDING TO THE SINFUL NATURE.(rom 8:1-17) WE HONOR AND GLORIFY GOD BY THESE WORKS OF LOVE, FAITH AND OBEDIENCE THAT BEARS GOOD FRUITS THAT WILL LAST..(john 15:6-17)

Luke 3:9 the ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

1 Peter 1:3-7 Praise to God for a living hope Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a LIVING HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the SALVATION THAT IS READY TO BE REVEALED IN THE LAST TIME. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be PROVED GENUINE and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

2 Peter 1:5-11 For this very reason, make every effort to ADD TO YOUR FAITH goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being INEFFECTIVE and UNPRODUCTIVE in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and BLIND, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his PAST SINS. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Revelation 3:1-3 To the Church in Sardis “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but YOU ARE DEAD. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; OBEY IT AND REPENT. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.

Galatians 6:7-8 DO NOT BE DECEIVED, GOD CANNOT BE MOCKED. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

John 7:17-18 If anyone chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from

God or whether I speak on my own. He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

James 4:17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.

“DEAD FAITH CANNOT SAVE” ))james 2:14-26)

Your concept of solo scriptorum is fine for meaning only the words of the Bible are from God. You take that to mean you will not use aids to look up relevant verses. Just keep on with the inability to look up all related verses in the Bible. Keep your figurative hands tied behind your back. Makes it easy for the rest of us. In fact I am so great I don't need one. I use another tool. Figure it out!!

You seem to not understand grace. Grace is free and absolutely there is nothing you can do to earn it. The simple formula is we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. That means if you accept Jesus as your savior by praying to him for salvation then grace from God is your free gift. Can't be earned by any works. If you have real faith works will happen automatically. The number or kind makes no difference. They don't save!!!

Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what i say?

1 John 1:5-10 WALKING IN THE LIGHT This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we CLAIM to have fellowship with him YET WALK IN THE DARKNESS, we lie and do not live by the truth. But IF WE WALK in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. IF WE CLAIM to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. IF WE CONFESS our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. IF WE CLAIM we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

WHY WOULD OUR LORD JESUS BUILD HIS CHURCH(matthew 16:18) IF IT’S MEMBERS WOULD JUST SAY AND CLAIM THAT THEY HAVE FAITH BUT WON’T DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD TO DO FOR FEAR OF BEING CALLED A WORKS SALVATIONIST?

IF THE CHURCH IS THE BODY,(eph 5:23) AND JUST AS THE BODY WITHOUT THE SPIRIT IS DEAD SO FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD.( james 2:26) IN THE SAME WAY A TREE WITHOUT FRUIT IS CUT DOWN AND BURNED.(Luke 6:43-45,john 15:6,mat 3:10)

ISN’T HE THE HEAD OF THAT ONE BODY (THE CHURCH)(ephesians 5:23)

SINCE WHEN DID THE BODY CONTROL THE HEAD OR MAKE THE HEAD DO WHAT THE BODY WANTS OR FOR THE LORD TO BECOME ITS SERVANT?

AREN”T THE BELIEVERS WHO ARE PART OF THAT ONE BODY SUPPOSED TO BE LED BY THE SPIRIT AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND?

ARE WE SUPPOSED TO JUST HAVE FAITH ALONE EXPECTING TO BE SERVED BY GOD HERE ON EARTH AND IN HEAVEN?( IF ALLOWED TO ENTER THAT PLACE)

IF EVEN OUR LORD JESUS BECAME A SERVANT, SHOULDN’T WE BE LIKE HIM, TO WALK AS HE DID ( 1 john 2:6) AND BE CONSIDERED AS GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANTS? (1 john 2:5-6,matthew 25:14-30)

Ephesians 4:11-13 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, TO PREPARE GOD’S PEOPLE FOR WORKS OF SERVICE, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

IF WE REALLY ARE A PART OF CHRIST BEING A MEMBER OF HIS BODY, THEN WE ARE EXPECTED TO DO HIS WORKS AS WE ARE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT.

IT IS HIS BODY (THE CHURCH) WHOM HE WILL SAVE AND THEY ARE THOSE WHO THROUGH FAITH DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER AND ARE WORKERS AND SERVANTS OF GOD AND ARE THEREFORE SONS OF GOD.

John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Romans 8:14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Therefore:

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN HAS DIED IN HIS SINFUL NATURE AND RAISED AGAIN WITH JESUS TO LIVE ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.(Romans 8:4)

AM I BORN AGAIN?

….God looks at the heart and if I would just CLAIM to be born again yet DO NOT DO WHAT HE SAYS and STILL WALKS IN THE DARKNESS...I WOULD BE A LIAR.

JESUS SAID;

“LET GOD BE TRUE AND EVERY MAN A LIAR” rom 3:4
You need to explain how dead faith is known. You leave out the verse saying faith without works is dead. No works no faith. True faith automatically generates works. Works is evidence of faith in Jesus. They don't save but are evidence of faith in Jesus.

So now I am wondering, how much works do I need to generate to have true faith and not dead faith?
Is it one work a day, one a week, one work a month, one a year, I need to know cause I would not want my faith to be dead and then loose my salvation.

Now, say I can only get to one work a year, in between those works is my faith dead?
are these questions getting more complicated or what?

You seem to not understand grace. Grace is free and absolutely there is nothing you can do to earn it. The simple formula is we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. That means if you accept Jesus as your savior by praying to him for salvation then grace from God is your free gift. Can't be earned by any works. If you have real faith works will happen automatically. The number or kind makes no difference. They don't save!!!
You have stated repeatedly faith without works is dead.
Therefore one needs works to be saved so that one's faith is not dead?
Are you changing your argument?
