That mixing huh? Law and grace... ohh you say it;s bad huh? Yahshua says the saints/set apart ones guard the COmmands nad have faith in Messiah...

that is what I said. obedience is the result of salvation, not a cause. I can speak of this personally. I have believed in God, the Bible, Jesus, the virgin birth, the Resurrection, etc.. since I was a child. but, until I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, though I believed in these things, I did not care if I obeyed or not.

All that is required to be saved, is simply to have faith in and believe on Jesus, and acknowledge that He is your Lord and Savior and that He died for your sins.

OSAS AND FAS ARE FALSE MAN MADE DOCTRINES THAT PROMOTES DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD AND REJECTS AND NULLIFIES GOD'S WORDS AND COMMANDS. (mark 7:6-13, Isaiah 5:20-24)

MANY WHO HAS FAITH WILL TURN AWAY FROM THEIR FAITH.

go back through any of my posts. you will see I say nothing about adding anything to what God did for us. I hate to say this, I respect you, doc, mailman dan, e.g., truthtalk greatly, but some of you seem to take an issue with a believer stating that they strive to obey the Commands that the N.T. lays out for us.
I despise legalism in aby form, we are saved by grace alone, but obeying God is part of serving God.

The average Christian has the impression they're saved by no action at all on their own other than a mental declaration that they've accepted Christ. They're told "there's nothing you can do to be saved." That's the problem....What does it mean when we say we are saved by "grace alone?" "Saved by grace and grace alone" is very misleading.
I remember when I was a young man how people told me that "all I had to do to be saved is believe." I was never able to accept that idea. It's not TRUTH!
Grace. That's God's part in providing mankind a way of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Faith. Better translated 'living faith' is the believer's part in conducting an acceptable walk with Christ.
Works. Works are the evidence that something significant has transpired in a believer's life resulting in doing good for the cause of Christ. Works don't save you but neither does grace if you don't accept it. And neither does faith if it's not 'living faith.' You can't separate grace, faith, and works.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Works are not only the evidence that one has accepted God's grace by sending His son, they are what determine our reward. As long as we don't do them only to be seen and noticed. Mathew 23:5.
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
To accept the Protestant misunderstanding of being 'saved by grace and grace alone," renders the following passage as meaningless...

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? see, this is what I mean. one denies grace, and attaches good works as " proof " or" evidence " of salvation. we are saved by grace, through faith, for good works.
and, it does not render what James says invalid. it means good works are a part of salvation, but a part. the saving comes from God through Christ alone. works are a natural product of a saved person. not to be used as a scorecard.
