Furthermore Peter, show me an instance where it happened, where God changed His mind toward a person that was saved by His Grace.
You won't find one.....salvation is eternal and based upon Christ and his work of faith on our behalf....

Then we are not saved by grace, but by works, There is no way around this fact, If you say works are required to keep saved, you are teaching salvation by works.

Do you see if in the abrahamic covenant, In the davidic, In the new? Of course not.

Jesus did not say you wil have eternal life if you stay good and do all these works, He said IF you have faith in him.

Jesus did not say in john 6 you will never die and live forever if you do all these works, and keep in them, He said if we believe in him, and that he said was the work of God

Your making the new covenant a conditional covenant, Eternal life conditional life.

If the law could not save us, What makes anyone think a new law could save us, we could not keep the first, what makes us think we can keep any other.

The law still stands, if we want a conditional covenant, we have the law. And thats it,, And we have failed.. it will conbdemn you, That why paul taught so much against works..

if you want law, you will fail, I will fail, we will both fail and suffer the doom of hell..

or receive grace.

those are our only two options.
no matter how one slices and dices....it is faith/grace or works....there is no biblical precedence of blending faith and works to get, keep, maintain salvation.....

Good works are NOT a necessity to KEEP salvation. We are to do them, yes. :) But we're commanded to do them to show God's love to others, NOT for the benefit of keeping our salvation.

There is only one way to lose your salvation: deny and/or reject God, Jesus and the HS..

Galatians is clear....those who blend works with faith to finish the deal concerning salvation are deceived and called fools....

Jesus finished the work on the cross on our behalf....when we acknowledge him by faith we are saved, sealed, justified and sanctified in Christ positionally for ever.....any work or fruit is the result of the salvation and faith we already possess eternally in Christ.....we cannot ADD to the perfect work of Jesus...God is clear...when I see the blood I will pass over you....end of story!

Those who interject self state plainly that what Jesus has done is not sufficient....no way around that!

False, the only outflow from your heart that will cause you to go to Hell is the denial of the Holy Spirit. Once you have accepted the free gift of the Holy Spirit, that transaction has been completed and God will not withdraw.
Many people don't accept the free gift of salvation. I am wary to give anyone false assurance of salvation.

The Holy Spirit talks into the hearts of God's children and gives them reassurance.

We need to always pray and ask God why some can't hear and rest in that peace?

and how we can out of love speak words that will help?

I'm sorry blessedjohn80, but your post above gave me a giggle.

You're saying this:

the devil is working hard to deceive many away from Jesus.

about persons who WANT TO "WORK" and live their life as God would want them to.
THESE are the people that the devil is deceiving???

Your thought process seems a bit scrambled...
Where does my post say this?
Your assuming too much.

The scripture about the thief is clear if you read it objectively.
He got saved without good works.
He was basically crucified for the sins he deserved.
Yet when he had faith that Jesus would save him,
Jesus saved him.

What does that tell you?

All christians should want to do good works but not for the purpose of salvation.
Not out of obligation.
But out of love and joy.

You don't read the scriptures because you are obligated to read it because of salvation.
You read the scriptures because you are hungry for God's word daily.

Everything you do is out of love which you have received from God on the cross.

But I'm glad it made you giggle.

Still the scripture is accurate in showing that one is not saved by works but by faith
alone in the Perfect work of Jesus Christ.

Not by works = 1
By works = 0

This made me think. Rebellion and sinful behaviour is denying and rejecting Christ.
God has opened the door and shown his heart, yet people preferred the darkness of
evil than walking in His glorious light.

We are a poor weak people in need of our Lord, but we know what is love and what
is injustice and evil. Is anything the Lord called us to do that is impossible or wrong,
we are not capable of?

Then we should rejoice and follow Him rejoicing in His ways, amen

Galatians are about being Jewish as justification.
To. be lawless is rebellion, but to walk in His ways is the power of the Spirit.

Are you in rebellion against the ways of Christ and His law?
We obey because that is our heart not justification, but you sound like you do not have this heart?

If one knew the ways of Christ within, why would there be condemnation to ones heart?
I fear that rather than seeking the Lords face, people feel the state of their heart defines
them, rather than the need to go to the Lord and be filled.

Without Him we are dry and empty, So search Him out and find Him and His heart, for
life always flows from Him.

Hey friends.....peace from Penrith Au....flight was good and appreciate all the prayers......
Praise the Lord He blessed you and kept you safe. It is amazing how we trust the works of man
so easily and put our lives in there hands, yet not the works of Christ.

Who though is the more trust worthy?

Hey BJ
I copied straight from your post.
This way there's no misunderstanding.
I never assume... You could go back and read your post.
You said the devil is deceiving people.
Who?
The ones who are working.
Like that's not a good thing to do and is inspired by Satan.

JESUS said we're to do good works.
I won't repost Mathew again . I'm sure you know it well.

Those who are doing good are being led by the Holy Spirit, not by the devil!

PS
I agree with all you've said except your comment about the thief.
Pretty difficult to do good works when you're hanging on a cross.
Not an acceptable example. Do you have another one?

Bill, I am not having a dig, it just made me think how we trust certain things and not others.

I have a relative who helped design and build planes, and knowing him, sometimes you would
wonder how they stayed up in the air. Whenever someone I care about is flying I go between
the disastrous news of a crash, and everything will be fine. I do not like flying much.

The more one knows about what can happen, the more you know you are in Gods hands everyday
of our lives.

I never get on a plane for same fears you have.
Ironic really as I could go anywhere in the world and it wouldn't cost me a penny, But will not fly, much to my wife's dismay

What about on a particular day and you are having a bad day.
That day you do no works and Jesus comes back on that day?

What if that period is a week or month?

Ok being a bit picky but at what point is the line drawn and how can we judge that line?

I don't think we can, we have no idea what is going on behind a closed persons heart
Bill,

Maybe there should be a thread on "Works".
It seems like we don't understand what they are.

We do works every day!
How do you treat your customers?
How do you treat the posters here?

So you're doing Mathew 5, the beatitudes.
Everything you do for God is a work.

And if you can't, He knows it.
No problem.

It seems easy to me...

when did any action that you have done or can possibly do give you salvation.

the fact your saying there is an action , shows you do not have a clue, what you been saved from.
and if you do not know what your saved from , why are you posting .
Pray, tell.
What are we saved from?
The people posting on this thread seem pretty knowledgeable to me, but we can always be enlightened.
