"God opens a door that no man can shut".

I always thought the door was a door I needed to ENTER but the door is an EXIT door!!!!

Exit from the Old Covenant (Dead Works) into the New Covenant of the Finished Work of Jesus!!!

Jesus is the exit door......we are done with sin and the law.

Rejoice!!!:)
Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war (for spiritual warfare), my fingers for battle. (Psalms 114:1)

I haven't seen it yet, but faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

They settle for and trust in "imperfect obedience" to save them, rather than trusting exclusively in Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation. That salvation is by GRACE through FAITH and is NOT BY WORKS is not hard to understand. It's just hard for works-salvationists/misguided teachers of the law etc.. to ACCEPT. It's a shame that human PRIDE will not allow such people to come to Christ. Their hands are full of their works and they will not let in order to receive Christ through faith. :cautious:
AMEN....when ONE adds ANYTHING to the finished work of Christ to gain, keep or top off the free irrevocable gift of salvation by grace through faith they are quite simply saying that the word, work and promises of Christ are insufficient.....regardless of how they spin it....

The verse you cited was more indicative of actual combat.....David fought many wars with the Philistines :) although it can have spiritual implications as well......

You are not here to learn a thing....you have been corrected over and over and you continue to conflate justification and sanctification, twist scripture, deny context, deny verb tense, deny the very verbiage of the bible to peddle a false gospel that has no power to save...I have not ONE time seen you be willing to accept correction and or be open to learning and instruction.....end of story!
I've posted many scriptures, and you have never pointed out where my understanding of them is wrong. You just say I'm wrong. Is that how it works in your religion? I am to bow to your words, and reject the Word of God? Where have I heard that before?

Oh Ya,

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof (Reject God's Word), then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Another straw man argument and ignorant too boot....my points stand concerning your stance.....

One of these days you will figure out, albeit too late to do any good, that you do the following with justification and ongoing sanctification....

con·flate
/kənˈflāt/
verb

  1. combine (two or more texts, ideas, etc.) into one.
"the urban crisis conflates a number of different economic and social issues"
    synonyms:mix, blend, fuse, unite, integrate

I never said there is another path and you know it. You know it, but you said it anyway.

You know it is not true, but you said it anyway.
The scriptures say what they say. I can't save myself, but I can "turn to the Word of God which became Flesh" and He has promised that "everyone" who "denies themselves", and "follows" Him is worthy of His Saving Grace. Those who expect the Christ to do everything for them, well that isn't covered by Him. You might be able be saved by following another path, but I believe we should "do" as He said to "do".
That is what is being referred to. You did say that...

No Dan,

You have got it all wrong at least where my belief is concerned. I believe we should do as the "Word of God which became Flesh instructs. That is where you and I differ. You have been convinced that you are already immortal, already saved, therefore you don't need to "Live by EVERY WORD of GOD". I post volumes of scriptures where the God of the Bible tells us differently.

Does God give His grace and Mercy to everybody? Only satan would say that He does. So who doesn't get His Mercy? Those with no Faith, yes. And what is faith? Is Abraham the perfect example of Faith?

How was Abraham's Faith shown Dan? Did Abraham reject any instructions that the Word of God gave him? Did Abraham create images of God in the likeness of man? Did He create his own laws, his own High Days?

when did the definition of faith go from "believing" in God enough to do as He says, to "come as you are" and God will make all the choices for us. The Word of God simply doesn't support this religion, if you consider "EVERY WORD".

How is "believing" in the Word of God enough to do as He instructs considered by you as not trusting in Him for Salvation? How is following catholic Traditions, and rejecting much of the Word of God which became Flesh's instructions called "Faith"?

I know you can't even consider the possibility that maybe God Word is right and much of Mainstream religions of today, like the Mainstream religions of Christ's time, is the Broad Path the Christ warned about. So I know you will just reject anything and any scripture which bring your religion into question. But for those who are reading along, what is the Faith of Abraham?

a little advice- don't give yourself a headache over trying to figure out all the logical fallacies in studyman's " theology '.

it's his religion, he changes it at will.

for example , on another thread, many months ago, I pointed out to him a greek word definition that did not match what he said,

he responded that the " translations were corrupted ". i asked him to please provide uncorrupted translations .

I am still waiting on them.

I guess people only SEE what they want to see.

You might find a dinosaur living in Cuba, but I believe you won't. You might be able to jump over the moon, but I believe you can't.

You might be able to create your own High Days, but I believe it is wrong to even try. You might find another Path to eternity than the one the Christ Walked, BUT I BELIEVE you won't.

This is actually a perfect example of what religious men do to God's Word all the time, and it is also what the serpent did to Eve. It seems they look over the scriptures, then they pick out a word or a sentence that can be used to further or justify some religion or religious tradition, or in this case, some vendetta, and they "omit" the parts that don't support their agenda. And in doing so, they distort and corrupt the point of the Scriptures, just as anyone can see Decon distorted and corrupted my stated belief. This is what the Mainstream Preachers of Christ's time did.

Matt. 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

But As anyone really interested in truth can see, I do not preach there is another Path, my post doesn't even suggest it. Only by isolating a few word's and "omitting" the rest can the argument even be made.

John 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

So the argument could be made that the Christ was promoting cannibalism. And there might even be some who would say "He did say this", and of a truth He did. But this one sentence doesn't not promote eating the flesh of humans does it? Only by NOT omitting the rest of His Word's can we come to a full understanding of what He meant.

I appreciate you pointing out this post as this circumstance illustrates the importance of honest discussion, and seeking, not to justify existing religious traditions or beliefs, but to understand the Will of God, without which there is no Kingdom of Heaven..

Amen decon, and now Jesus Christ reveals a "New Covenant", "God's Grace" and as UnderGrace has said in her post, we are no longer under "God's law", but "UnderGrace."

Application: "Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction."

Ephesians 1:7-11
7)
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8) that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9) He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10) to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
11) In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

Amen and God bless you UnderGrace,

"God opens a door that no man can shut".

I always thought the door was a door I needed to ENTER but the door is an EXIT door!!!!

Exit from the Old Covenant (Dead Works) into the New Covenant of the Finished Work of Jesus!!!

Jesus is the exit door......"we are done with sin and the law."

Rejoice!!!:)

Volumes of scripture out of context......ok...You do understand verb tense right? As in past tense, present tense and future tense right?

So oh enlightened one...what tense are the following verses in, in particular the SAVED part

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

AND the following statement by you is not only FALSE, but misleading and reeks of ignorance....

therefore you don't need to "Live by EVERY WORD of GOD". I post volumes of scriptures where the God of the Bible tells us differently.

Should we build an ARK because of a coming flood
What animals should we sacrifice
Do you go to Jerusalem to worship
Do you give a tenth of ALL increase including gardens, maybe killed deer, beef etc...and what priesthood do you give it to

ETC..........

You are welcome. Expressing ourselves clearly and concisely is important in avoiding misunderstandings. Saying, "A may be true but I believe B." is quite different than saying, "You might believe A is true, but I believe B is true."
