There is nothing more nauseating than people who like to spend their time on the internet arguing/debating the bible, because that is what they enjoy doing, eagerly criticising people, who, in the end surrendered their lives to Christ.

Yeah, Im here because I get bored at times. But I don't go around criticising people who surrendered their lives to God to do the work he called them to, and forsook everything to do it. And I would be most careful before claiming miracles that took place by the power of the Holy Spirit never really happened.

Ok, now you see, I think eternally grateful and Budman are correct and that they both have biblically valid points. I think you both are on opposing sides, so humor me a bit, will you brothers?

So you both agree Faith in Him is the ingredient that saves, but that we can please/honor our Lord in our choices, right?

I think that maybe I am looking at this too simplistically, but I appreciate you for seeking to help me understand and doing so with patience.

YES, we were SAVED FIRST, then afterwards we chose to love HIM with Obedience, and that Obedience comes from GOD's LOVE that was poured into our HEARTS (Human Spirit), described in Rom. 5:5.

So How Soon do you think HE SAVED US ? ? ?

2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

Kathryn Khulman did not claim she personally healed anyone. For a healing to be placed in her books, it had to have taken place at least five years previously, with no re-ocurrance of the illness, and two doctors who had previously treated the person testified of their former condition and the medical records were released

Then who is the Female Faith Healer from DENVER? The incident took place in DENVER?

One of the things that has always disgusted me is believers that will not make a stand for the sake of unity while being oblivious to the truth that NOT making a stand on the truth is making a stand.............
Yes, I agree, the Gospel is under constant attack, there is no middle ground between saved by grace through faith (apart from works) or saved by grace + works.

If you are referring to a married man with two children divorcing his wife so he could marry Kathryn Khulman go ahead. After five years of marriage she was walking down a dead end street with a sign post that said: DEAD END. She realised that was where her life was at. She said she had to choose between the man she loved and the God she loved. She chose God, the marriage was ended. She knew she had committed grevious sin. God forgave her, that is what matters, if others want to cast the first stone, nothing much has changed

You know there are people out there that deny Paul's apostleship and to them it would be WORKS salvation. They would even ADMIT to preaching it.

I sent them an email asking why do you quote from the book of Acts, when PAUL is present there, and its written by Luke who walked with Paul.
I also asked them why do you quote from the gospel of Luke, since he walked with Paul.
I also asked them why do you accept the second epistle of Peter, since Peter considers Paul a "beloved brother" there.

SURPRISE SURPRISE. It has been MONTHS and no answer!
HERETICS!

Maybe they will soon only quote from the gospel of Matthew!

all right. it's there. I stand corrected.
My post is valid....his twist of it on the other hand is not......even nature teaches this truth...an apple tree takes about three years, an oak about 20 to 25 and ALL believers must grow and mature if they are to bear fruit....the level of teaching, the speed of their spiritual growth and if they apply the word or not will determine the time frame and or amount of fruit.......he has been twisting my words since he came in this thread....

Where? Not disagreeing, just asking

One example i can think of is the comparison in Romans between being in ADAM and being in CHRIST

I see what you are saying, but, I also see how lawyers and workers are going to jump on statements like that, and say " see, they are promoting easy believeism ".

I just caution - don't give them ammunition . they love to twist things.

When Korah rebels against Moses.....Moses tells everybody on Korahs side go stand with Korah and they ALL went down into the pit alive.......even thought they had not rebelled they identified themselves with Korah........

One example of many

Yes I agree, it is important to protect ourselves too.

I have learned the more we think correctly/rightly about things the more He reveals too!!

For a while I went to a Sally Ann bible study, the people were so lovely but they believed a person can loose salvation so it was a constant tug and pull and I learned very little from them.

Wikipedia disagrees with you:

Following a 1967 fellowship in Philadelphia, Dr. William A. Nolen conducted a case study of 23 people who said they had been cured during one of her services. Nolen's long term follow-ups concluded that there were no cures in those cases. One woman who was said to have been cured of spinal cancer threw away her brace and ran across the stage at Kuhlman's command; her spine collapsed the next day and she died four months later.
. . .
Kuhlman traveled extensively around the United States and in many other countries holding "healing crusades" between the 1940s and 1970s. She was one of the most well-known healing ministers in the world.

Wikipedia disagrees with you:
And the doctors who treated terminally ill patients disagree with whatever you care to drag up. For they testified to their former patients illnesses, and they released the medical records to prove it. Patients who had no re-occurrence of the illness they were healed from for at least five years after the healing took place

My view....salvation is the root....and each successive doctrine is based upon the preceding doctrine.....if the root is corrupt how can anything beyond the root be correct.......it is all tainted by the false doctrine that it is based upon......

i never called JESUS a liar, what are you talking about?

and what am i gonna pay for? i repented of my sins and asked Jesus in my heart when i was 18, so according to you i'm heaven bound with the hammer down and i couldn't go to HELL even if i wanted to (according to your doctrine)

yes he did but what does that have to do with the prodigal son? the prodigal son didnt "WANDER" off
there is a big difference in someone "wandering" away and someone packing his stuff and "lEAVING" which by the way, i have never said that i believe you can lose your salvation, but you can leave your salvation

dont cherry pick Hebrews 6 look at it closely
Hebrews 6:4-6 (KJV)
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

the word "crucify" is a present tense verb meaning its something they are doing presently

its simple, if your sinning (presently) stop and repent and he is faithful and just to forgive but it is impossible to be renewed if you chose to stay in your sin and crucify (not crucified) God afresh......

I took loss of salvation as granted even before I knew a thing about Christianity, because i always believed in free will, where we can just decide things. I believe its the 'default' position of fallen man. Its the IKEA doityourself salvation.

I CHANGED MY VIEWS after studying the Scriptures.

I dont claim to still got some verses i struggle to explain, BUT i believe both sides have them.

Again dcon, would be NICE if you could write a book and adress all the verses used by loss of salvation people. Your eschatology book was great.

Again you call JESUS a liar.......man..you gonna pay.....

Did not JESUS say the good shepherd will leave the 99 to find the one that wanders away?

I suggest you guys take some time, get right, trust JESUS and wrap your head around the truth.....the more you post, the more you state clearly that you are missing the mark......

AND HEBREWS states if salvation can be LOST it is IMPOSSIBLE to be renewed....so which is it......jive that one......the funny thing...you won't be able to without twisting the word which so far is par for the course with you......

WHEWWW.......Gotta love it all...........no wonder Jesus was beaten and crucified, Paul beheaded, Peter hung upside down on a cross and Stephen stoned to death.........

The hyper religious absolutely cannot handle the truth................the simple truth....

JESUS saves by faith and it is a simple GIFT of grace.........anything beyond that are the results of said faith, salvation and grace.......

A son by birth will always be a son by birth.....it is not only idiotic, but absolutely flies in the face of the truth that ONE BORN of INCORRUPTIBLE SEED can be CORRUPTED..............and that ONE given ETERNAL life can LOSE IT and for sure JESUS must be a weak, inept, god that cannot keep his word when he promised to NEVER leave or forsake those who place trust in him...........................
you better hope your "once a son, always a son" is not true: let us balance scripture with scripture

this metaphor wont work. It proves that we can never be saved in the first place, for we are all born "children of wrath"

Ephesians 2:3 (KJV)
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

1 John 3:10 (KJV)
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

If once born into a family we could never cease to be children of that family, then we must always be children of disobedience. according to YOU
