God is producing Sons. The Sons inherit the house and lands. The slaves do not.

Not promoting disobedience or unbelief by any means. But, wasn't your post the one that said we must understand the Word correctly? My words of course.

Yes, we are sons by promise but because in our flesh dwells no good thing; we might want to become slaves to obedience. We are creatures of habit, after all.

Romans 6:17-23 "But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (ESV)."

I like the way Paul puts it. Willing slavery so we can become sons and co-inheritors.

It is NOT an open forum to those that have been banned,

Why can't you answer how you can rationalize and justify to yourself that your lies and deceptions aren't sin?
Why can't YOU answer my post.
Instead of worrying about what a big sinner I am???

Too difficult for you?

Its a strange site this one

One person says the new covenant was written to jews who wanted an inferior way
Another says it may take you many years to truly love God
Someone else believes deep understanding is overturning the plainly written word in reputable English translations of the bible with concordances and the greek
And another claiming if you lose your justification/righteousness before God by only having belief/faith for a while you remain in a saved state.
Thanks for the laugh.
This is truly how it is around here.

But,,,,that's what twisting the Word of God will get you!
CONFLICT!!

I agree with you that belief doesnt mean just thinking about stuff.

John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

^Correlation between believe and obedience!

Every day example: I tell someone to shoe the horse cause we're going on a trip riding on concrete. They believe me = they will do it. They didnt believe me = they didnt do it.

Can't get any more simple than that!
YOU stay close to God and follow His ways and you'll NEVER have to worry about loss of salvation because you're a child of God and will always be one as long as you stay close to Him.
And remember that He will always forgive your sins when you're sorry about them.

Who said the NC was written to the Jews?
Did they say that all the writings after the Gospels were written to the Jews?

If so can you quote the post where that was said.
Because I would have to disagree.

After all we know Paul took the Gospel to the gentiles and Jesus came for the Jews

God sent His only Son to teach us what He always wanted us to know all through the O.T. but it was necessary to "see" for ourselves how we are to be...and that is like Jesus.

So believing means that we trust everything Jesus tells us (and the N.T. writers who continued Jesus' ministry).

Now it becomes a matter of knowing what Jesus taught.

Godsgrace101

Can you not see what you have actually said in these sentences? You are saying that obedience to the written words is how we become like Jesus. How is this different than the OT Jews following Torah?

You are eliminating the inner work of Holy Spirit which is what grace really means.

grace: OT

H2603
חָנַן

chânan

khaw-nan'

A primitive root (compare H2583); properly to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow; causatively to implore (that is, move to favor by petition): - beseech, X fair, (be, find, shew) favour (-able), be (deal, give, grant (gracious (-ly), intreat, (be) merciful, have (shew) mercy (on, upon), have pity upon, pray, make supplication, X very.
Total KJV occurrences: 77

Grace: NT

G5485

χάρις

charis

khar'-ece

From G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): - acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy).

Total KJV occurrences: 156

OT grace of law is inability to produce righteousness but granted in kindness because of faith in sacrificial blood. Outward work.

NT grace is ability of Holy Spirit given within to produce the image of Jesus in our life through the new birth.
Inner work.

We cannot judge another Christians life unless we are perfect in our own. That's what Paul mean't. I think a lot of Christians get caught in works because of this. And none of us are perfect. But altogether in Him, we make up perfection in His body. Each of us excel in some quality He has given.
Could we stop with the Greek?

I taught the covenants.
Could you PLEASE tell me the difference between the Mosaic Covenant (or Old Covenant and the New Covenant?

Do I have to mention the Holy Spirit in each and every post of mine or it means something horrible?

God bless you. You know what yuo just said, the words i have said about the BAPTISM debate here. I said in the baptismal regeneration thread that this is a useless argument because if we just followed the Bible and got baptized INSTANTLY we wouldnt have to worry about if its required or not, since every is baptized!

I now declare this debate USELESS as well! Like you said: If we are walking in the light even as He is in the light, WE DONT GOTTA WORRY or know about conditional or unconditional or losable or not losable, ITS IRRELEVANT, if we walk in faith to Jesus!

Okey dokey

What is this perfect obedience in us and how does it manifest in us?
The perfect obedience in us is the obedience of faith.
We have faith...and so we obey.
Romans 1:5
We are to BELIEVE and to OBEY.
It's written right there in black and white.

You Got it !

The only people that debate this are those that want to live in sin (different from sinning) and still think they're saved.

This is not what the N.T. teaches.

Jesus said IF YOU LOVE ME,,,you will obey my commandments (teachings)....
And my commandments are not burdensome.

Mathew 11:28-30 Jesus said:
28“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
29“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.
30“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Praise Jesus for taking OUR yoke upon Himself and giving us rest from strife.

Right PE,
Don't answer me.
I know it's not easy...

Just try to learn how to exegete verses....
that would be nice if you're going to post to persons that need to HEAR THE TRUTH.
And YOU sure don't know it....IMHO.

1. saved by grace through faith

2. being made new and given new desires to conform to Him (and He that began a good work in us will continue to the day of Christ)

3. He promises eternal security to His own....

4. It is the imputed righteousness of Jesus that saves us... He gets the glory....

This thread was made to give God the glory....

seems a lot of folk just can't accept God for who He is....

HATH begotten us....
unto an inheritance

which is

incorruptible and undefiled

and that fadeth not away

reserved

kept by the power of God unto salvation

not by works....

by grace through faith and to him that works not... his faith is counted for righteousness

having not his own righteousness but the righteousness of Jesus Christ

it is so wonderful... the truth... untainted by doctrine of men which functions to cover Gods glory as if He doesnt finish what He starts

So the perfect obedience is of faith?

Faith or works?
Faith I say which leads to works, obeying Jesus.
Our faith will be obedient even if our works are not.
Lack of good works and lack non good works.
But those who have genuine faith will not be happy in either case and will seek to be more like Jesus.

You know better

You've been hangin' with Dcon too much.
You even talk like he does.

Who were the other sheep Jesus was speaking about in
John 10:16

Who was the Wedding Banquet about?
Care to exegete that?

Mathew 22:1-13
1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying,
2“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.
3“And he sent out his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, and they were unwilling to come.
4“Again he sent out other slaves saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fattened livestock are all butchered and everything is ready; come to the wedding feast.”’
5“But they paid no attention and went their way, one to his own farm, another to his business,
6and the rest seized his slaves and mistreated them and killed them.
7“But the king was enraged, and he sent his armies and destroyed those murderers and set their city on fire.
8“Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
9‘Go therefore to the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.’ 10“Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests.
11“But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes,
12and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless.
13“Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and throw him into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

So, what do we learn from the above:

1. God invited the Jews to the Wedding Feast. These are the Hebrews from Abraham's time.

2. The Hebrews, Israelites and Jews always did not understand the message from God.

3. The Prophets of old were killed, as what happened in the O.T.

4. God sent His message to all, out in the streets, as had been promised in the Abrahamic and Davidic Covenants. (Abraham would be the father of many...the gentiles).

5. The Wedding Hall was FULL of guests but one was not wearing the proper clothing.
That would be Jesus...

6. Those that do not have Jesus will be thrown out of the Wedding Banquet where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

(many who cry Lord, Lord, will NOT be saved because they did not follow Jesus' teachings and were not "dressed" with Him).
